    Thanks for this video man. Made alot easier for me. Any experience with removing oxidation from your rims? Bike sits in garage, and i havnt used it for a year, but dont eant to mess the rims up with these harsh chemicals on the market. Any idea how to remove oxidation? 0000 steel wool and polish? Maybe a little courser? Any advise is appreciated

    This is a great video. You actually show the work done rather than talking about it after. Could you make another video about pulling the gas tank to replace plugs and air filter?

    • @mikeandhisbikes3502

      Thanks Glad you like the video. I try to make it as informative and show how its done. I have seen to many that go to fast or just talk about it after they have pulled parts off but dont actually show how its done. And Yes that would be my next video soon as i have to get back in there again. Or I may just do one for show. Since I have already changed the plugs on mine.

    That is a great educational video. Loved the tip on the oil container you used to refill the trans case. I'm trying to get setup with all the tools I need to change oil on my '09 Stratoliner. Is that just a regular floor jack you're using? Oh yes, that's a fine looking Raider as well.

    • @mikeandhisbikes3502
      @mikeandhisbikes3502  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks yes just a regular 3ton floor jack you may need a second pair of hands just to help set up wood blocks. and some 4/6 blocks under rear tire just to raise the bike enough and 4/4 wood blocks on the kick stand to keep it stable.

    Thanks! I have a stratoliner, and the front oil transfer tube leaks (I think just an o-ring/filter under the bolt). But, the frame rail is in the way to remove the bolt. Is there an easy way to fix this leak, without pulling the motor. Or, is it not too hard to remove the mount bolts, and just jack the motor up about 1.1/2". Any advice would be great. I hate this little oil leak.

      @@mikeandhisbikes3502 I took a couple pics, but don't know how to send them to you. I can't use the comments to upload a picture. I guess I could make a youtube video and send you the link. Let me know if I can just email you the pics. The leak is on the right side (when sitting on the bike) down low and forward, almost to the oil filter area. It is an oil transfer tube, and part #12 (a little o ring) if you go to Revzilla and put in 2006 yamaha stratoliner - oil pump parts diagram. I'm temped to just loosen the bolt until it hits the frame rail, pull the tube back, and use a bit of black permatex silicone (RTV) and tighten it back up, as it doesn't leak too much. Just enough to annoy me, and piss on the garage floor. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey nice video but i noticed that you had the bike on a jack and you didnt use the weep hole to see if its upto the level it should be. I have a bike stand. Do you think if i have the bike level when changing the gear oil effect how much of the oil i get out? I know i have to put in 0.58 L of oil back in but im planning on using the 3rd hole to check the level. I wonder if i have the bike up right if it effects the fill level if using the weeping hole. Any info would be appreciated

      I only put what the manufacturer says it takes so I use that measurement on my funnel 550ml I think it is I have it marked.

    • @mikeandhisbikes3502
      @mikeandhisbikes3502  Před 2 lety +2

      And yes bike being level drains just fine sometimes if I don't have it on a jack I tip it over a little just to make it poor every drop out.

    • @T181T
      @T181T Před 2 lety

      Ok thanks. Thats what i was wondering. If some would still be left in the case because its not level.

    • @HighAway
      @HighAway Před 2 lety +1

      would that be called transmission??? transfer case refers to a redirected drive to another wheel. seems that i'm missing some mechanical connection here.
