This is the story on Audre Harrell... Andre Harrell has died at the age of 59.
Raised in the Bronx, New York, Harrell started a career in music as half of the early-'80s hip-hop duo Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (with Alonzo Brown). The pair had a handful of minor hits on Billboard's Hot R&B Songs chart -- the biggest being the No. 31-peaking, Tom Tom Club-sampling "Genius Rap" in 1982 -- but Harrell soon found other career aspirations, particularly after meeting Def Jam records founder Russell Simmons.

In order to keep me from my child, I would have to be six feet under. We’re talking about very early in Diddy’s history and I struggle to believe he was always powerful. Claudia wasn't referring to the Uptown recording artists. She was talking about those that worked there in a role beyond artist. Heavy D, Al B Sure, Andre Harrell, Kim all WORKED there. All those that have passed, died young and had doc's and books in the works.
I'm pretty sure Misa has smoke for Diddy she probably not making that public but rather her public focus on HS. Something fishy about that Al B Sure stuff and for the record Kim never came and said he was a good daddy either as Claudia implies. We just need to stay tuned.

Jimmy has done a number of interviews explaining how the label started out and how some of the artists came to them. He also mentioned why they FIRED Diddy. So this notion that all the ppl that started Uptown mysteriously died writing books is false. Google Jimmy Luv Jenkins.
