FREE Vowel Sound PDF Checklist (Master British Vowels):
    schoolbam.com/vowel-sound-che...
In this British Accent English Pronunciation Tutorial...
You will discover how to master ANY English vowel sound in 60 seconds or LESS using just 2 simple British Accent Method Techniques...
I created these 2 techniques for clients in my English Pronunciation School to make English vowel sounds quick and easy to understand...
    Here's why this is important...
If you're a non-native English speaker it's likely that your native language has different vowel sounds to English...
This means that many words in English can sound similar and be hard for you to pronounce clearly...
Can you clearly pronounce the following pairs of words?
    - 'feet and 'fit'
    - 'set' and 'sat'
    - 'cot' and 'cut'
If you can't pronounce English vowel sounds clearly when you're speaking English...
Then it's likely that you'll get asked to repeat yourself when you speak English and lack confidence in your accent...
This can affect your professional career, your social life, and your sex life...
The 2 British Accent Method techniques you will discover in this video will enable you to immediately discover the correct mouth position for any English vowel sound, and how to tell the difference between vowels that should last for different lengths...
The 2 English vowel sound techniques are 'The 2 Second Rule' and 'The Finger Technique'...
The 2 Second Rule - This technique will show you how to quickly tell the difference between long and short vowel sounds in words such as 'feet' and 'fit'
If your language doesn't have long vowel sounds...
Then using The 2 Second Rule will enable you to feel how the length of long vowel sounds is different to the length of short vowel sounds...
This is CRITICAL for clear English pronunciation...
The Finger Technique - This technique will enable you to identify the correct mouth height for every English vowel sound so you can understand the difference between similar and confusing vowel sounds...
This is essential if you want to have confidence in your accent when speaking English...
Download my FREE PDF Vowel Sound Checklist that you can use to identify the specific challenges you're having with ANY vowel sound in English...
And then quickly overcome your difficulties so that you STOP feeling embarrassed when you speak English...

    Very difficult question for you!
Everyone knows the rule of pronouncing the final 's' at the end of a word as /s/ and /z/ after voiceless consonants and voiced consonants, respectively.
But my question is, how do you pronounce the final 's'-whether /s/ or /z/-if it occurs after a vowel sound, like in 'Photos,' 'Auto,' and 'Buffalo' in a British accent?
Secondly, how do you pronounce the final 's' if it occurs after an 'r' sound in British English, /s/ or /z/? Examples include words like 'supporters,' 'teachers,' 'Dollars,' 'Papers,' 'Cars,' 'Guitars,' 'Computers,' 'Actors,' 'Doctors,' 'Ladders,' 'Hammers,' 'Mirrors,' and 'Tiger,' among others.
    Please, help me.

I have a malocclusion (an overbite), and, interestingly, I've found that I need fewer fingers to reproduce these sounds. For instance, when I make the /e/ sound as in ‘set,’ it sounds accurate, but I can only fit one finger between my teeth, not the 1.5 as your guide suggests. This is true for all vowels - I typically need 0.5 finger less than what’s recommended. Could malocclusion be affecting the number of fingers one should be able to fit?

    Hi Michael
I was using this sound in my speech unconsciously which is / ʉ / sound and
I got to know that In contemporary or modern RP this sound is used. I've checked its pronunciation in Cambridge dictionary and heard many people speaking as well and it sounds really different from long /u: / sound In words like boot and dude which is different from cool and tool in pronunciation.
I think it's in close central vowel sound
Could you tell me about it something?

    • @britishaccentmethod
      @britishaccentmethod  Před 2 lety +1

Thanks Montserrat - I'm pleased it's helped you! You can apply these techniques to any English accent you wish learn. My English is a fairly relaxed 'modern rp' - compared to strict RP there are a couple of sounds I relax in certain scenarios.
      Hope this helps!
