    One of the biggest challenges that learners of English have is correctly pronouncing long Vowel Sounds. Why is this? Because many languages don’t have long vowel sounds, and you may not have been taught them correctly when you learned English. This means that when you pronounce English words that contain long vowel sounds, you usually pronounce them with a short vowel sound instead. But, there are many words in English that are specifically pronounced with the equivalent short vowel sound. As a result, it may sound like you're saying a completely different word altogether. Even if this isn’t the case, many basic speech patterns like the question “Do you...?” contain long vowel sounds, and pronouncing such basic phrases incorrectly will affect how you’re perceived in English.
    There’s one very simple rule to pronouncing long vowel sounds correctly. Once you learn this rule and implement it correctly with one vowel sound, it will become easy to correctly implement it with all other long vowel sounds. Implementing this rule into your English speaking will have a hugely positive impact on your English pronunciation and English accent.
    In this week's English Pronunciation tutorial, I teach you the rule and show you how to implement it into your English speaking. I then give you 5 examples of this rule in use, and compare the correct use of the rule, to the incorrect use of it.
    I can’t wait for you to get the benefits of implementing this rule into your English speaking so watch the video and comment below with any questions.

      @britishaccentmethod  Pƙed 5 lety +2

      Hi Irishal, I'm glad you've found the tutorials so helpful. When I work with Italian clients, this advice really helps because the long vowel sounds - especially /ɜː/, can be challenging to pronounce correctly. The best place to get feedback is in the live Q & A sessions in my private training programme - it's only £9.99 a month. The other option is a Personal Pronunciation improvement plan where I go through your pronunciation and then create you a complete plan for improvement based on all the things that are currently holding you back. These are £157.
      Unfortunately it's hard for me to give individual feedback here.
      Happy to help if I can :)
