In this English Pronunciation tutorial, You’re going to learn the 2 second rule which is a rule I developed to help my English Pronunciation students overcome one of the biggest challenges that was stopping them from speaking English with clear pronunciation. As soon as they started implementing it and understood the logic behind it, they were able to learn the correct pronunciation of all the long English vowel sounds, much quicker, which enabled them to speak English much more clearly.
The difficulty that so many learners of English face is that their native language doesn’t contain long vowel sounds. This means that when they encounter long vowel sounds in English, it feels very uncomfortable and unnatural to make them. Even if they know what they need to do, they still find it hard to hold their mouth in a static position for a longer period of time than normal.
The result is that long vowel sounds end up sounding like short vowel sounds, or something in between, and the result of this is the poor pronunciation that is unclear and hard to understand. I developed this rule as I saw that if my clients could learn to hold their mouths in the correct position for longer than was necessary, then when it came to speaking more quickly in conversation, they would naturally hold the long vowel sounds for the right amount of time.
The 2-second rule is an incredibly valuable tool for you to learn the long English vowel sound and improving your pronunciation, and once you learn it, you will immediately experience the benefits. I can’t wait for you to get the benefits of implementing this rule into your English speaking so watch the video and comment below with any questions.

It is really a very precious rule. Usually, it takes tones of listening and imitating to come up closer to understanding how to deal with long vowels. The rule makes it much easier. Thank you!

This is incredible for someone like me with Spanish as a native language because we don't have long vowels and Im always unconsciously tempted to shorten my English vowels and at the end that means a half way vowel that doesn't sound right at all

      Hi Khalil,
Thank you for commenting straight away. I apologise, it seems I missed your question before. Do you mean when reading out loud, or when reading in silence to yourself? Even when I'm reading, I would not use a weak form of 'no'.
Here are 3 examples to exemplify the point - in all of them you would pronounce 'no' properly.
      'he said 'no''
      'there were no bags left'
      'it's not possible no'
      Cheers,
