In this English Pronunciation tutorial, You’re going to learn the 2 second rule which is a rule I developed to help my English Pronunciation students overcome one of the biggest challenges that was stopping them from speaking English with clear pronunciation. As soon as they started implementing it and understood the logic behind it, they were able to learn the correct pronunciation of all the long English vowel sounds, much quicker, which enabled them to speak English much more clearly.
The difficulty that so many learners of English face is that their native language doesn’t contain long vowel sounds. This means that when they encounter long vowel sounds in English, it feels very uncomfortable and unnatural to make them. Even if they know what they need to do, they still find it hard to hold their mouth in a static position for a longer period of time than normal.
The result is that long vowel sounds end up sounding like short vowel sounds, or something in between, and the result of this is the poor pronunciation that is unclear and hard to understand. I developed this rule as I saw that if my clients could learn to hold their mouths in the correct position for longer than was necessary, then when it came to speaking more quickly in conversation, they would naturally hold the long vowel sounds for the right amount of time.
The 2-second rule is an incredibly valuable tool for you to learn the long English vowel sound and improving your pronunciation, and once you learn it, you will immediately experience the benefits. I can’t wait for you to get the benefits of implementing this rule into your English speaking so watch the video and comment below with any questions.

I wanna say this is genius teacher.
It is really a very precious rule. Usually, it takes tones of listening and imitating to come up closer to understanding how to deal with long vowels. The rule makes it much easier. Thank you!
Thanks
I just arrived on the channel
Stunning
This is incredible for someone like me with Spanish as a native language because we don't have long vowels and Im always unconsciously tempted to shorten my English vowels and at the end that means a half way vowel that doesn't sound right at all
Awesome!
Thanks Michael

Superb job ... I'm really improved after this video... Especially that my problem with the sound /3:/ is now solved thanks to your video.
Excellent! Really pleased to hear this. If you have been able to solve /3:/, then applying the 2 second rule to the other long vowel sounds will be really effective too :)
That's is cool

Welcome back my teacher it's been an ages. Thank you so much. just i would love to answer my question about reading so, when we read should we use the weak form or no. As you know when we speak we use the weak form I mean her like . HE, SHE, THEM,SOME ext. Thank yoou so much and please more videos see you in the next video teacher
Hi Khalil,
Thank you for commenting straight away. I apologise, it seems I missed your question before. Do you mean when reading out loud, or when reading in silence to yourself? Even when I'm reading, I would not use a weak form of 'no'.
Here are 3 examples to exemplify the point - in all of them you would pronounce 'no' properly.
'he said 'no''
'there were no bags left'
'it's not possible no'
Cheers,
Michael
@@britishaccentmethod Thank you so much, my teacher, what I meant is the pronunciation of # Hi, She, some, Them, ext as you know when we speak we use the weak form, but in reading is it the same or no I have got the book of pronunciation in use by Cambridge I work out with it but it seems to me they do not mention the rules for reading just only when we speak. I would love to explain to me those rules. Best regards.
I'm very happy to see your new class again. It was very helpful to me. I'd like to learn the differance of pronunciation between "wool" and "wall" . Thanks for your good classes always.
Hey 김수길, I'm pleased you're happy with the new class. Learning the difference between "wool" and "wall" is a really good point to learn so thank you for requesting it. I will make a video on it and post it in the next few weeks.

when beetles are singing the song "yesterday", why he do not pronunce "d" sound in the lyrics of " seemed" . "all my trobles seemed so far away"
Hi Kim, Good question. In this song, I think he doesn't pronounce the /d/ sound just to get a certain 'feel' in the song. In other songs he pronounces the 'd' sound, and there are no pronunciation rules relating to this!
I am totally disappointed. Please teach me British accent.
