Handy tip ...
IF you've ever forgotten wet clothes in the washing machine, vinegar will also neutralize the musty mildew smell.
Freshness restored🦸♂️
Yours, is becoming one of my favourite channels. Cheers.
Always creative and reminded people to use what they have instead of always buying new gadgets or products🎉
Happy and resourceful cooking! 😊
I love that method for making my own cupcake papers/foils. The ones available in the stores here are not big enough for my muffin pans. Wonderful idea.
Glad you found the cupcake paper hack helpful!
I’m using this one tonight for my salmon cups! I can’t find my silicone muffin cup pan. Thanks!
My grandmother used vinegar as a cleaner, bicarbonate soda is also great 🇦🇺❤️
I buy baking soda by the 8 lb bags.
You’re correct!
Agree, just not together as I saw in a recent video outside of this channel. She used both vinegar and baking soda to wash the orange before zesting. That doesn't work because vinegar is acidic and baking soda alkali, which neutralizes each other making them ineffective. May as well use only water. I prefer baking soda myself when it comes to washing my fruit before zesting. Might be just my imagination, but I sometimes wonder if the pungent vinegar wouldn't somehow compromise the flavor of the zest.
Sending Aussie love and sparkling surfaces your way! 🇦🇺❤️

Great point!
Oh Alex! The freezing meatballs hint is absolutely brilliant!! 👍🏻👏👏
👍🏻
I really liked the cup cake idea.
Great tips, thank you! I like the “ASMR” which usually drives me crazy and I have to mute it. But listening to the boards sliding across the counter and other kitchen noises on your channel is relaxing. I was making an apple pie for company a few years back and our guest was sitting nearby. He commented that the sound of the apples being peeled and sliced was almost putting him to sleep 😊. Watching you I finally understand what he was talking about. 🥰
Well, who knew kitchen sounds could be the secret recipe for relaxation?))
Chef Alex.... thank you so much for everything you have added to our lives over the years ❤
And also, it's so lovely to see your face again and again as opposed to your first videos. 😂😂❤
Happy cooking, and here's to many more delicious meals together!

I love the difference in the size of "garbage" cans here in the US as opposed to the EU. You had what I'm assuming is about an 8 gallon can. In the US, most kitchens have a 13 gallon or larger.
That's because, here in the US, we're totally inept at recycling. We also use more packaging. Everything is wrapped in plastic, everything is pasteurized (totally unnecessary ... except when you're pregnant), no one can recycle most of the plastic packaging. Cheese mongers, fresh artisan charcuterie fairings of any kind, boulangeries, and weekly organic markets are almost non-existent. Matter of fact, organic is twice as expensive as non-organic. Most of the fruits in the stores are coated in wax, nearly everything else is gas ripened in a truck. Pre-packaged is the most common food, which has added sugar, chemicals I can't identify, and enough salt to dehydrate a bouquet of flowers.
We have dear friends in a small village in France. When we visit, I feel like I can breathe and I leave feeling lighter and healthier.
The US isn't all it's cracked up to be.
I been living in US for 54 years and never bought boxes of ready food ! The only can I buy is tomato paste ( freeze the tomatoes during summer that is cheaper and some from my garden ) cook from scratch with fresh season vegetables ( it is cheaper ) I make my own bread and yogurt every week 🤷🏼♀️compost all my kitchen scrap for my vegetables and flowers and herb pot ( I live in MN so gardening is shorter then the warmer state 😢I am originally Persian and worked 128 hours in 2 weeks until I retired 10 years ago 😏I am telling you all this because you can eat healthy even in America that is notting healthy in store . I have been doing it for 54 years not easy but possible 😏
These are all choices that we can make here or there. Most people here in the USA that grew up on a farm or continue to live a farm type life can easily do without all the modern convinces of processed foods and goods. I was raised with a backyard vegetable garden and fresh eggs from our chickens. I still do this to this day.
Using citric acid (lemon juice) or apple cider vinegar turns calcium crusts into calcium citrate, which is an easily removed small and soft crystalline scale. The same reason for drinking lemon juice or ACV for kidney calcium stones - helps dissolve and remove them from the body.
Who knew lemon juice and apple cider vinegar were the unsung heroes against calcium crusts? 💪
In my next life, I want to marry someone like him 🥰
😅
@@daryanasri▪︎ Think of how easy and interesting working around home would be with him😊.
It'd be a pleasure instead of a chore.
He would be the best husband in the kitchen 😂
Well I'm praying for one like him in this life😊
😁👍
I love using vinegar to clean where I can. Actually, that first example of that mineral scale is nothing compared to what everything in the kitchen and bath looks like as we have very hard well water.
What works better on the calcium and lime is Apple cider vinegar, especially when you can figure out a way to allow it to sit for 15-30 minutes.
Borax is also a wonderful cleaner for all kinds of things.
CAUTION: Do NOT mix Borax with vinegar! Nothing bad will happen to you, but it will set up like concrete within about 30 seconds of being fully mixed. I know, I tried to make a paste without considering the chemistry. Boy, was a surprised!!
I cleaned the floor with vinegar
Thank you for sharing your experiences and tips!

As to the grill trick, it also works for the oven as well as cooking pans. If you run a hot cooking pan under tap water, it will lift almost all of the hard to clean stuff. I know, it's called "deglazing", but folks usually think of that with sauces. Works for cleaning too.
Cold water in a hot pan can cause warping. Water should not be cold.
That's a great tip! Running a hot cooking pan under tap water to lift stubborn residues is a handy technique. 😊
@@genie5251 I have thick pans and they're ceramic coated. I have never, ever, had a pan warp. Also, I've cleaned many a coffee pot with ice put into hot water and have never had a carafe break. Boil water in the bottom of the carafe and let it cool a bit (because that's where most of the coffee stains are), put ice in the water and swirl. The ice (while it's solid) will "scrub" the carafe.
Yes, if you add ice to a hot carafe without any water in it, it will likely shatter.
I wet a paper towel on the counter and place my cutting board or bowl on it for none slip. Great videos.
Smart move!
As always, love it, love it, live it!❤

LISTERINE WAS ACTUALLY PRODUCED AS A FLOOR CLEANER 😵💫
It was used as an anti-bacterial for surgery and wounds. A Doctor Lister is who it is named after. It was also thought to prevent halitosis.
Vinegar put in a spray bottle makes it more efficient in that you use less i think.
Less is more when it comes to magical cleaning.
Such a pleasure to watch an informative and entertaining video. Thanks!😊

When I watch your videos it feels like I am attending a "Hack University". Great tips as always! ... not sure if you have covered this before but do you have tips for removing/preventing mould build up in bath tubs or shower stalls?
Love the sandwich baking paper folding idea. I will use it, too! Love the paper towel griddle trick, too. I also wet paper towels to put over bowls that go in the microwave so the food doesn't pop all over my precious microwave. A friend of ours from Detroit told me I'd never keep my Panasonic 1,250 watt, 2.2 cubic foot genius sensor inverter microwave oven clean when I first got it because his mom didn't. well, she had a bad case of CKD, so, no wonder! She was ill and has since passed away. RIP. Our microwave is so enormous you can fit a whole big turkey in the platter along with all the side dishes in it! I was elated to have this new countertop hog. It takes one whole side of my countertop, save enough space for one rice cooker that is a snug fit, but I don't care. I always hear him say that in my head when I feel lazy about cleaning my microwave, so I remove the plate and ring and spray it with bleach water, then microwave it for a minute and anything on there just wipes away along with any odors. Ooh! Love the plastic bag over the cutting board idea! I always use flexible cutting boards, though. Love the Hazelnut ideas, too, but I have to grind my nuts into powder because of dentures. I have a hack I use every day. At the end of every day I take all food waste including egg shells, coffee and tea grounds, my boyfriends crab shells , vegetable peelings, and I grind them all up with my Oster glass carafe blender and toss the mixture on the lawn. You can't see it, but it is there, doing it's job to give back to the earth. I bought it to grind Pinto beans into dust for instant refried bean mix. It works like a charm. I have got to try that cupcake mold idea on my giant cupcake/muffin pan that makes giant muffins. Thanks for the super idea!
Happy cooking and cleaning! 🍽️

I use vinegar water and dash of liquid soap viola clean 😊by the way you can make those cheese chips with cheaper cheese like cheddar Or mozzarella 🤷🏼♀️I like the nuts trick👍
I agree just because cheddar and mozzarella taste better, but doesn't the cheddar just melt and spread all over the plate rather than harden up?
Vinegar, water, soap trio for the win!
Love this guy! All tips never heard before, all very useful. Thank you
You're too kind!
I keep white vinegar in 3 concentrations in spray bottles. One is 50% with water and a few drops of Dawn. Then a 100% vinegar for hard water stains. And a 75% version I use for cleaning windows, mirrors, etc. Along with some essential oil to cut the vinegar smell.
I love your videos. Thanks so much. Great tips! 💝🥰
🥰
The Science doesn't agree with Vinegar added to dish soap getting rid of lime scale. Vinegar is acidic & soap is alkaline. For lime scale, you can mix the vinegar with lemon juice or use baking soda and salt.
Thanks for covering this aspect of lime scale removal! ✨
Thank you for sharing your video. I love it.👍😊
Happy watching and thank you for your kind words! 👍😊
Love the Brie idea! I am going to try it with a small amount of grated parmesan. The mouthwash tip is amazing! Cupcake liners are amazing! All your tips are amazing!
@ELLOGANT it works really well with grated parmesan and I also sometimes put things like powdered garlic or chilli on too, adds a reaĺy interesting twist. I don't have a microwave, I use my airfryer. Patricia
Grating a small amount of parmesan when making brie sounds like a delicious twist. 🍰
Loved all your tips especially the one to make cupcakes and muffins as I don’t have a pan for this but have lots of parchment paper and foil. Will definitely use that one.

When I use my grill, I have 2 or 3 wet paper towels laid aside. As soon as I get my food out, I turn off the grill, lay down the wet towels on the grill ribs, and close the top. After we eat, I open the grill, take off the grates and they wash clean very easy.
Grill mastery level: Jedi! 🧙♂️

Vinegar is the best fabric softener. It leaves clothes feeling soft and fluffy, leaves no residue and NO CHEMICAL PERFUME SMELL. Your clothes will just smell like clean fabric.
Thanks for sharing this eco-friendly hack! 🌿
@@WebspoonWorld You're welcome! The smell of fabric "softener" is so obnoxious to me. I was so glad to find a natural alternative that really does work better. :)

I love your channel!!!

I find that for very hard lime scale (because our water comes from a well) Apple cider vinegar is best. Lime and Calcium end up on more than just dishes, but also on the sink and shower doors and just about everything that touches water. I apply pure apple cider vinegar to surfaces that it will remain on (horizontal surfaces) and let it sit. I don't know what the difference is, but after a half hour with the apple cider vinegar, all of the scale comes off. I've always had to repeat with white vinegar.
And if that doesn't work, fume-free oven cleaner does.
Apple cider vinegar can indeed be an effective remedy for removing heavy lime scale, especially in hard water areas.
We have well water with a heavy lime content. It tastes amazing but is murder on appliances and surfaces. I have used white vinegar and baking soda very successfully for years to clean and delime.
Using white vinegar and baking soda is a fantastic and natural way to fight lime scale, especially in hard water areas. 🌟
Great tips. Subbed👍👍👍.
Thanks!
