I always imagined that dark wizards could summon a dark version of the patronus. It would be based upon their strength of will, maybe affected by their anger and hate.
I know Rowling said only Snape could make a patronus but I think Lucius Malfoy could too. He did actually understand love and did love his family regardless of the very wrong path he walked. I think his would be an albino peacock as he kept them on his estate. Peacocks are not indigenous to Great Britain, so he had them imported.
Not so much Lucius imo but for sure Draco and Narcissa. The idea that only one Dark Wizard can have a Patronus has always been ridiculous to me. EVERYONE has good memories, the will to live and somewhat love.
OP - I think I agree with you on that. A peacock would be better as a patronous for the vain, stuck-up Lucius, than a lion, which is, after all, the symbol of Griffindor! Also, a rat would be better suited for Pettigrew, than a weasel, which is Arthur's.
Oh a white peacock- a symbol of arrogance, feeling superior, and it being white makes it give off the “1% of the 1%”
Snape changed sides early on to protect Lily. So snape was a hero in disguise. His patronus was a doe to represent Lily, and his love for her.
For Lucius I’d say a peacock
I thought there was a high relationship between an Animagus form and a Patronus, So wouldn't Wormtail's Patronus be a Rat?
I thought that too!
Bingo
Yeah this guy just say D*** stuff to get reactions. Wormtail’s patronus is a rat he just said a weasel so people calls him out on his BS. Best way to get a ton of comments.
@@asvestor5932 wow ur mad
Weasels are cheerful, energetic creatures. I am from Alaska, where we have least weasels
I've always thought of The Patronus Animal as being a physical manifestation of a person's Spirit Animal and, by extension, directly tied to their soul. This would explain why the dark wizard in the fable was consumed by maggots. It's not that the spell didn't work, it's that his soul was so vile and twisted that the flesh eating maggots that formed from it immediately turned on him and consumed him. In the case of Voldemort though; he might legitimately be incapable of casting one because his soul is so mangled and eroded.
Interesting video idea. Pettigrew with the same Patronus as Arthur Weasley? I'm not sure about that one. Rat might be too obvious but it would make sense. We know from James that your Patronus can be the same as your animagus form
Yes like we’re going to go to the also a tabby cat Answer is also a dog so I do not see why peters isn’t just a rat
I thought Lucius Malfoy was going to be a white peacock because that's what his family has around his house. Also you can consider peacocks as being proud & pompous birds.
This is the only correct answer
Why would Voldemort even need a patronus? He didn't have much for a dementor to "feed on".
Super Carlin Bros did this, but only for Draco; they figured that his would be a peacock.
I also thought of a lion for Lucious but since in HP lore Lions are more related to Griffindor, i thought "Lucious won't associate himself, conscious or unconsciously to anything related to Griffindor" so i discarded it. But indeed, Lucious' personality is 100% of a lion. So very spot on. But maybe a black lion . Hehe
I agree with some other people here. I think Lucius's patronus would be a peacock.
@@fransmith3255 Yeah a peacock. He even has an albino peacock in his manor. Imagine if that was his Patronus guarding the entrance? Haha. Such a reach.
A lion is a king, they are natural strong leaders; they are also majestic, fierce, noble and strong they fear absolutely nothing. Lucius Malfoy has none of those traits, he was a coward, his traits are more of a weasel or maybe a hyena.
@@barrychristensen356 You are right. Those are the good traits of a lion, however, a lion can also have bad traits which could be pride, entitlement, laziness, being selfish and overly confident, defiant and provocative. Lucious certainly posees some of these.
But well, let's say a lion is not exactly what would define Lucious Malfoy. Specially because in HP lore, lions are more representative of Griffindor. Also the color gold, carmine and ocre. Rubies, and such.
Slytherin is more of silver, emerald, black, white, grey, snakes and such. So yeah, one could say, exact opposites.
Lucious has to he a very pretentious, proud and sneaky animal ever. What that is exactly i don't know. But an albino peacock seems very fitting.
Seeing this, I admit that Bellaetrix Lestrange is a classy woman and I think her patronus is indeed a black swan, just like Odette's story. I like the video this time ♥️
Ever notice how only Harry' birthday gets celebrated while everybody else's is not even mentioned.
Well, Ron's gets mentioned once in Half Blood Prince. Of course, that's because he gets poisoned. Lol.
I think because the story about Harry or he doesn't pay attention to the small details.
Voldemort Could Produce A Patronus Charm If He Did NOT Choose A Memory Of Harming Someone That Gives Him Happiness, If He Did NOT Choose A Memory Of Hurting Someone Then He Could Probably Produce A Patronus Charm
Can you please do a Valentines Day themed video? Like if Love Potions are Dark Magic or what if Voldemort drank a Love Potion?
He is the love potion
Don’t love potions just create infatuation and obsession? I don’t think Voldemort is going to even feel that
@@yokai333 What do you mean HE is the love potion?
@@rat3diirushii I wasn't saying he was the positive function, but the uncontrollable desire, the obsession. Not to a human, but his view of magic
@@YellowBear-kx1ff the negative aspects, not the positive. All I'm saying
The Runespor was my Patronus, Griffindor and a yew Wand. Weirdly similar to Voldemort.
Idea for next vid. “Are the Fiendfrye figures the opposite to patronus?”
11:15 The Eastern Hognose can also flatten it's neck to make it look like a cobra as well. O-O
Hmm, I'd prolly have included Greyback. He 100% has a werewolf patronus
Why because he is secretly I love with Tonks
I don't understand why dark wizzard could not produce a patronous. If what it take is a happy tought even if your happy tought is killing some one if it's strong enough, like for a unforgiven curse you have to mean it.
Yeah, I've always thought that claim a ridiculous one and completely unrealistic. As happiness is a subjective matter. Just because you choose to do dark and evil things doesn't mean you don't have memories that make you strongly and purely happy. Whilst unless you're suicidal you most certainly have the will to live and you'd have to be a psychopath to not be able to understand or feel real love and there's no way every single DE or dark wizard apart from Snape were suicidal psychopaths.
Sirius and Remus had childishly Black-and-white views on good vs. bad.
Truly the only human in the HP universe who wouldn't be able to summon a Patronus should be Voldemort, at least after he created his horcruxes, because he was a true psychopath plus his soul was ripped into so very many pieces and the tiniest one of those pieces was house in his body.
@@littlebadwolf8129 yes but even there Voldemort feel joy in the pain and suffering of other.
@@Yoddeley Yes, but there's a massive difference between joy and happiness. And especially between joy and overwhelming pure happiness which among other things is required to cast a corporal Patronus.
@@littlebadwolf8129 i give it to you. In this optique...
I miss Regulus Black in the list who I would imagine should actually also have been able to produce one.
Regulus may have been a Death Eater, but he defected after seeing how Voldemort poorly treated his family's house-elf, Kreacher, which he probably saw as not only family, but a friend and childhood playmate.
Interesting video Dean. I want to correct you on a small mistake- Augustus Rookwood is in the OOTP and DH2 movies played by Richard Trinder. Anyway if I had to guess about Dolohov it would be an animal which represents loyalty. Because just like Bellatrix he lived for serving the dark lord without questions. So another Black Swan possibly.
Was he? I can’t even remember, was it a non verbal role?
@@HarryPotterFolklore It was when Harry uses the Polyjucie Potion to take on his appearance during the infiltration of the Ministry of Magic in DH
@@HarryPotterFolklore Yes. Bastards just showed him without saying who he is. The same goes for Dolohov, MacNair and Travers. They are just there and nobody would know it without searching like I did.
Wormtail would most definitely cast a rat, as the patronus and animagus form are the same (unless your patronus changed to take the form of another person's animal). I think we also got a "preview" for Draco in the books though. When Crouch-Moody turned him into a ferret, I think that was a very conscious choice of animal and corresponds with his patronus and potential animagus form. It might even have been a spell that specifically turns people into their potential animagus form. That's just something I personally believe though.
I have heard from other content creators that the patrronus can't be a magical creature...only common ones. For instance Dumbledore's patrronus is not a phoenix.
Also peter pedigru (however you spell it) was a anagus and your animal form is connected to your patrronus so his would be a rat
I disagree with lucius, I reckon his patronus would be a peacock... especially since he owned them - white peacocks to be specific, which in my opinion would appear quite patronus-like ... he always wanted to save face no matter what side he pretended to be on appearances of grandure, wealth and good favour mattered to him above all else and he would definitely flaunt that whenever he could, a lion is a proud creature but not a show off...
@CrypticMist yeah 100%... Plus he's way too spineless to be a lion for sure...
All of the things Lupin said doesn't really explain anything. Dark Wizards have happy memories, will to live and hope too...
Draco's transfiguration by Not-Moody (Barty Crouch Jr.) into a ferret had me thinking, if animal forms are linked to patroni, whether Draco's patronus would be a ferret. It would fit, I think.
IMO Snape was able to produce a Patronus because he had a sincere change of heart. He truly felt Remorse in his actions that resulted in Lilly's death. I also feel that could be the reason any Dark Wizard could produce one.
I think you're forgetting Umbridge . . . She can produce a Patronous, but she's also REALLY evil . . . 🤔 But her "joy" in life is literally torturing people/living creatures, so . . . Also, Arthur Weasley's Patronous is a weasel, too, so are you saying that good Mr. Wealsey is also evil, too . . . Lol; JK!! 😅 Wouldn't Wormtail's Patronous be a rat?? Since he was literally (& figuratively) a RAT in that he could transform INTO a rat & he "ratted" out his friends to Voldy . . . ?? I KNOW that weasels aren't ALWAYS evil. I don't consider Draco Malfoy a TRUE deatheater, either; yes, I KNOW that he was TECHNICALLY a deatheater, with the Dark Mark & everything, but not really IN SPIRIT, if that makes any sense . . . 😉
Umbitch wasn't a Death Eater, but she was most definitely a supporter of them as we all saw in *Deathly Hallows*
@@kryptonianpowers True. ☺️
I really liked this video, very well done! I thought the explanation of Bellatrix's Patronus to be quite fascinating and that it suits her quite well.
The black swan and what it represents (in certain cultures): death, evil and darkness, suits Bellatrix's character perfectly. She loves torturing and killing people and brings darkness with her evilness everywhere she goes. Also, along with swans being loyal, it goes along, as you said, with Bellatrix's devot loyalty to Voldemort, the man she was obsessively in love with/sexually attracted to. She would even give up her own life for him and his cause if she had to, that's how loyal she is. The back swan and it being her Patronus if she could cast one, truly does suit Bellatrix to a T.
This was really cool. I think you did a good job 😉
Just to clarify, not all brown bears are grizzlies. The grizzly bear is one of 2 major subspecies of North American brown bear, the other being the Kodiak. Grizzlies live largely in the "lower 48" states (especially in, near, and west of the Rocky Mountain range and the Yellowstone region), whereas Kodiaks are endemic to Alaska.
Do you guys and gals think that Ilias is a ancestor of Peter Pettigrew?
Edit: I though the Animagus form was what the Patronus would be. So i thought Peter Pettigrew's Patronus would be a rat, and possibly a ferret for Draco, since that's what he was turned into in the goblet of fire
I think your nailed all of these predictions. Good shit Dean🤙🏽
I think Barty Crouch Jr would be a Chameleon!
SCB made a theory that his would be an albino peacock which they explained relatively well too imo but I could see both
Actually when I went to find that video I found one of your old videos where you suggested it would be a penguin lmao
did you forget that Dolores Umbridge can also produce a Petronas? Is she also a an exception like Snape? I don’t think you have to be pure of heart to produce a Petronas. Very few people are truly pure of heart as we all live in shades of gray.
I really like your analysis of Draco Malfoy‘s Petronas. I’ve heard people discuss his Petronas before and predict that it would be an albino peacock. well, I think the albino peacock suits, Draco very well, your description of that particular snake suits him just as well and it’s a shame we don’t know which his Petronas is.
Lastly, Arthur Weasley‘s Petronas is a weasel. Does that make him as bad as peter Pettigrew? No. perhaps, just as with the raven, your perception of the weasel matters when viewing it
Unbridle in all of her ways is not a death eater.
1.Dolores Umbridge was never a DE. 2.With all of her evil heart may sound weird- She still had a tiny bit of good in her and that is enough for a Patronus.
I didn’t say she was a death eater. I said she wasn’t pure of heart. This video claims that she must be pure of heart in order to produce a Petronas, which is something Remus Lupin never said. You don’t have to be a good person to produce a Petronas you just have to summon up a happy memory. You yourself have to feel happy and that doesn’t make you a good person.
@@annaathey8827 Oh okay my bad. Now we are on the same page and yes you have good points I agree.
@@annaathey8827 pretty sure the same guy also said she was pure in her own heart and in her happy place when she produced it on another video.
To labor the point as that’s what I do. The video title and intro discussed death eaters .
For Lucius Malfoy I'd give him a peacock more show-off less dangerous
Love this video been watching for a while now I'm a massive fan ❤
Snape being able to conjure a Patronus is the proof that he wasn't a dark wizard. He did dark thing, so what? Dumbledore did dark things too and he was also able to conjure a Patronus. Sirius and James were absolute jerks when the were young and where also able to use the Patronus charm at the same age.
And let's not forgot Dolores Umbridge.
Being able to conjure a Patronus does not prove that somone is a good human being (that would be too easy) it only proves that someone is not a "dark wisard" whitch is the wizarding expression for a psychopath, somone unable to feel something for anyone other than themself, like Ekrizdis, Voldemort and Raksidian.
And a majestic video it was Sir
This makes sense. I'm not even surprised
I think u got them all correct forsure u matched them so good fr fr
GREAT VIDEO!!! Thank You, it was very interesting!!!
Pretty sure Voldemort wouldn’t be able to conjure a patronis because he can’t do the whole happy memory thing
9:38 Robastian I would give him something like a wild black boar 🐗. I just feel a black boar would be more suitable then Grizzly or Brown Bear (brown bears are bigger then Grizzlies, random fact, yes all Grizzlies are a subspecies of Brown Bears but not all Brown Bears are Grizzly Bears).
All the rest of these are AMAZING. I agree with 95% of what you “assigned”. You can tell how much work you put into each one of these. Great job!
my instant thought for Malfoy was a Ferrit LOL for obvious reasons
This the video you were referring to last week?
Worm tail would have been a rat.
Too obvious
I was really curious about this
I really don't think the story about Raczidian actually happened. I think it's more like a folklore story wizards tell one another, where a lot of exaggerations are made. I think a dark wizard attempting to cast a patronus would just result in nothing
We love you! ♥️
His patronus would be a snake. Was this really hard for you to figure out?
I was also quite interested in what you would come up with for Dolohov
What do you reckon Dolohov's patronus would be?
If a dementor represents depression, then to me a patronus represents a furry pet to hug to alleviate depression.
For Lucius, since male lions are actually fierce fighters,
I don’t think it fits,
I think his Patronus would be a peacock
and I’m very happy Pettigrew’s was not a rat.
Rats actually make excellent pets ,
So he was an insult to rats everywhere
I disagree with Lucius and Peter's patronuses. There is no way that Lucius's patronus would be a lion, because otherwise he would have been sorted into Gryffindor (Lucius was a Slytherin through and through), and Peter's patronus would be the same as his animagus - a rat.
In roma folklore there's a fire that doesn't illuminate but spreads darkness around itself so a version of it could be used.
Deatheaters should all be some sort of bug.
where are the pictures from they look amazing
Well, how can a murderer have a pure heart? You have insulted the lion.
Nice job
Rakizdian was the one who created the Dementors from what I remember
Most awesome vid!!!!!!!!
great vid but if an animagus casts a patronus it would be the same as there animagus form so peter would get a rat not an otter
There's a Swan in Tamworth England that we all call bully that just attacks anything with wings and people lol its a white Swan but still very similar to bellatrix so we'll done there lol
Actually for Raczidian, if you think carefully, It seems more like a stupid rumor spread by some wizards to scare other wizards. Because, why wouldn't the patronus work, logically speaking, for a dark wizard? It makes no sense that it wouldn't work when all it is needed to cast a patronus is happiness/ a happy memory.
Happiness is subjective, different things make different people happy, so for example Voldemort might be overcome with happiness during torture and massacre. The memory of those times should be able to fuel a patronus for Voldemort, who feels happiness while thinking about those instances.
It's probably one of those things JK didn't think through very well.
Actually hognose snakes are mildly venomous. They have enlarged grooved teeth in the rear of their upper jaw and produce a very mild venom. It’s harmless to humans beyond the possibility of allergic reactions but they are technically venomous.
What if Lord Voldemort was an Animagus? Remember, the wizard can not choose which animal to turn into
Crabbe and Goyle being left out made me sad 🥺🥺
The lestrange brothers ones should be a Rhino and a Warthog;)
Bebop and rocksteady!
I mean...shouldn't we suppose that all animagi cast a patronous of the same form as the animal they turn into. Remus has a wolf, Sirius has a dog, Mac Gonnagal has a cat, James has a Stag...shouldn't Pitter have a rat-patronus? Also some good choices for Igor Karkaroff would be wild animals of Bulgaria such as bears, wolves, wild boars , foxes (I am not Bulgarian btw). The Iguana is though a great choice as well as the parrot for Rookwood.
Nicely done! Wouldn't a dark wizard's anti-patronus also be kind of a be your own dementor spell? I'd think manifesting it would suck joy and happiness out of the vicinity and bring on dread and fear.
I think you missed out on Peter Pettigres Patronus as a possum. I also feel offended he'd have the same Patronus as Aurther Weasley which is Canon.
Wormtail would in fact be a rat. He is the definition of a rat. He ratted out his friends, lived like a rat, was always unclean, chose to save his own skin etc. yes he was also a weasel, but the animal weasel isn’t a coward, unlike Wormtail. Rats are cowards. A weasel doesn’t match any of his character traits whatsoever. Otherwise everything else is pretty on point and great video!
I still think it is a mistake of Rowling to implement the rule that dark wizards can't cast a patronus and would prefer my headcanon that Raczidian somehow managed to mispronounce his spell so terribly it ended up with that nightmarish scenario (after all, wizard Baruffio once mentioned to mispronouce f as s in a spell, which resulted in him having a buffalo on his chest)... Which in turn gave way to the legend that Dark wizards can't summon a patronus...
Now, for the picks of patronuses, there are some very nice ones here, though a few I'm not really certain about (like the black swan, color isn't really that can translate in the patronus) and few I would change, so I would go with:
- Bellatrix Lestrange: an Acromantula (which can be fiercely loyal to one person (in her case, Voldemort), yet be completely merciless to everyone else)
- Peter Pettigrew: a rat (I think it is better if it matched his animagus form and he was pretty much a rat, in every sense of the word)
- Igor Karkaroff: a weasel (while the lizard pick also suited him very well, he was more a weasel than Pettigrew in my opinion. Joining the strong (the Death Eaters), only to try to weasel out once the Dark Lord fell. While Pettigrew is the first person Potterheads think off when they hear coward, it is far more fitting for Karkaroff in my opinion)
- Lucius Malfoy: a peacock (the symbol of pride and he did keep peacocks on his terrain so, it makes sense. It also would open the door for Narcissa to have a peahen as her patronus)
- Amicus Carrow: a troll (The hyena idea is also very perfect but I don't really the idea that both siblings have the same patronus and I would give it solely to Alecto. We hear her laughing at one point, she appears to be more ambush killer type than her brother, who in my opinion is slightly more brutish and violent than her, hence the idea of a troll).
Am I the only one that thinks all Malfoys would have the Peacock Patronus? 🤣
Casually forgets daloress umbridge and her cat patronus
Just because I feel like being obnoxious, not all brown bears are grizzlies, but all grizzlies are brown bears.
Also, zero chance Lucious is a lion. I would say an orca is more fitting. Considers itself to be top of the food chain, can appear to be friendly but you cannot turn your back or it will eat you.
Igor Karkarov was 100% a crow because the name in Russian sounds like caw, the sound crows make. Plus the all black color palette lol.
Me: "Let me guess. A fucking snake?" 🤣
Awesome
Eh, I'd have figured that Wormtail's patronus would be a rat, like his animagus form. I'm not sure if Patronus and Animagus **always** line up 1-1, though. Harry isn't an animagus but his dad was, a Stag. Harry's Patronus is a stag; one wonders if Harry could have become an animagus, whether it would be a Stag. Prof. McGonagall's Patronus and Animagus are both a cat. Perhaps looking into this and whether one's patronus would match up with one's animagus form (in instances where one could become an animagus) all the time is in order?
Honestly Malfoy would have a peacock patronus think, his favorite animal a symbol of nobility and the Malfoy manor only accepts pure white peacocks as the house pet and insignia that's why in the book there was a large group when the trio was there
Arthur Weasley's patronus is a weasel too though. And he displays none of those traits
In the Lego harry potter video games Tom Riddle can use Petronas but Voldemort can’t
They try but it ran away from them the moment it took one look at them hahahaha 🤣 LMAO... LATER
I would have though less lion for Malfo but a Peacock they are a proud bird of miss direction and are some of the meanest creatures of all birds
Lucius had a peacock 🦚 as his patronus. Draco had a dragon 🐉
I do like the Runespore for Voldy though
It would be really funny and ironic if Draco's patronus was a ferret
I was told your patronus form is also your animagus form🤔.
Honestly if you're asking me, a Peacock would be a better idea for lucius patronus (he's not nearly brave enough to be a lion)
3.5 minutes in, "before we start, heres an ad" 😅
Isn’t the weasel the patronos for Mr. Weasley?
I love hognoses!! They so cute!!! Fun fact they actually DO possess venom but it’s too weak to affect humans. I want an albino hognose.
I think the lion is too kingly and gryffindor for Lucius. Maybe a panther. I like how someone else said a white peacock.
Wouldn’t Voldemort be happy with his destruction he makes and the killing and the power he gets, would that not be a loophole for him to use
I though Animagus were showing there soul when they change James Prongs turned into a stage and has a Stage as a proterons. Out of love for James Lily was a Doe. By this logic petygrew would be a Rat also it shows how twisted Snape was because he did not change for Lily but kept her memory alive by taking a Doe not a Stage. I think snape would have been a Revan otherwise
Shouldn't Pettigrew have had a rat Patronus? Also I really think you are wrong about Lucius having a Lion Patronus. The African Lion anyway is an Apex predator, they don't really do sneaking except to get the initial jump on their prey, but they damn sure don't care about making a scene. Also, Lucius is cocky and full of himself, but there is a difference in arrogance and pride. I think he might be more likely to have a peacock for a Patronus.
I would liek to point out hyenas aren't actually as scavenger like as movies have led people to believe in fact lions scavenge the same if not more
I would like to know what would happen if Voldemort became a ghost.
How much danger would there be
