Her fighting style is so mesmerizing. And I just guess she is a summoner of divine beasts because she is the daughter of a speaker magician and a forgemaster.
I am curious about whether or not they'll actually explain this. In the Games her Abilities come from the Old English Renard Family being contracted through their Bloodline with the Four Celestial Beasts from ancient times. But her Origins are much different here, She obviously not from the og Renard Family, because their English, and Her Mother Tera is a Russian Speaker and Her Father is French.
@@markwalker091was Terra actually ethnically Russian though? I thought she said that her clan of speakers simply moved to Russia and settled there. She still may be descended from an English family.
@@sunnystreet4950 Well the Origin of Tera's magic can't be European. Sypha stated that Speaker magic is sourced from the Adamic tongue which is a middle eastern dead language which is an implication that Speakers are Hermetic Jews affiliated/adjacent.

I still think that, I dont know the game but to what I see in this series, she is just meh, Richter and Annette had done the heavy lifting, Maria is even weaker than her mother

Castlevania portrays magic users intelligently unlike other shonen animes where magic is only used to overpower opponents just to see how powerful the protagonist. Castlevania has shown time and time again that magic users work best if they combine their magic with dexterity, reflex and creativity.
Magic is supposed to be a tool for problem solving in storytelling.
Magic is like science. It's only an extension of what you already do.
i love her fighting style so much usually for beast summoners in media they just sit back and let their animals do the battle while maria actually has technique and participate in battles
Yeah, it almost reminds me of simple Pokemon battles in the TV show seem when the stakes are high 😅
I'm in love with the Fact that we get to see Tera fight so often.
You don't usually see the parents consistently kicking ass and keeping up with the kids.
They had one bad battle, lost Edouard, and Mama Bear was at their side for the rest of the series.
She was definitely the unofficial Fourth Member of the Trio.
Truly! With Tera's added power on the mission they might not have lost Ed to begin with.

Yes, in the original game. The Dark Priest Shaft unlocks Maria's summoning powers and goes full potential earlier. But in the TV show, she's still a novice and hasn't gone potential yet. Still in training and developing her magical powers.
Also, it's a good thing we able can able to see the 4 legendary Holy creatures of the Asian Mythos.
Suzaku - The Vermillion Bird of the South.
Byako - The White Tiger of the West.
Genbu - The Black Tortoise (a.k.a Black Warrior) of the North.
Seiyuu - The Azure Dragon of the East, but hasn't been summoned in season 1.
I guess she can learn and able to summon the Azure Dragon in the 2nd season. Possibly, then she'll be able to increase her abilities potentially.
She reminds me of the witches in The Owl House with her summoning circles.
If pokemon was like this, I'd have watched it.

They have to fight with a high level of Martial Dexterity, and improvisation to keep up with Vampires and Night Creatures
Maria is the best example of this because she uses summons instead of spells so Environmental Positioning in battles is key like in her fight with Drolta, distracting her with the birds, and zig zagging along the pews so Drolt couldnt see her draw a summoning circle with her foot out of her line of sight was soooo nice
They remembered Maria's summoning power, that's the main thing. Her design, fight scenes and summons are cool. Though, I do miss the azure dragon.
would not be suprised if that is a power-up for her in season 2

She's not that strong yet but I like her fighting style, and excited for her fight developments.
I just realized she imbues magic on the summons to enhance their strength, like when the birds glow, they're wings can cut skin and when the summons are injured she uses magic to heal them.
The birds are mainly used as projectiles, aggro and transportation.
The tiger is used as the main damage dealer.
The tortoise is used as a shield, surprise attack, and also transportation in water.
I wonder how she'll use the dragon 🤔
Maybe after some training she can use the turtle more actively so she can shield some attacks while other summons go for the attack.
Iirc her saturn version also has invincibility, and guardian knuckle

I get those obviously but what dimensions do those creatures from? How did she connect to it and em? Does this mean she even summon demons and even night creatures? And why doesnt she exhibit her mom speaker abilities especially as she never knew/hstes her dad?
@@joshua2764 In the show, when the bird died, a part of herself died. Meaning, these are potentially created through her lifeforce, or borrowed energies from her surroundings that's she's attuned with. At least, that's how I see it.

Maria Renard is a young vampire huntress and a distant relative of the Belmont Clan. She was only twelve years old at the time she makes her first appearance in the series, yet she has already achieved mastery over magic spells, animal spirits for familiars, and the four celestial beasts.
Maria sure takes her time maiming her opponents.
So she's basically a Beast Keeping Witch from the Owl House. XD
As soon as I saw the way she makes magic I just immediately thought about the Owl House.
And then the scene at 3:26 reminded me of the first "Lilith vs Eda" fight and 3:37 reminded me of the fight against Grom when Amity basically does the same thing.
I know my comment won't have any connection to the vid, but seeing the amount of visuals they gave for the magic is one of the reasons why I wish warner just would reboot the harry potter as animated instead of live actions...
Honestly, every live action franchise should be rebooted in animation.

I think i was MOST excited to see Maria this series. My first encounter with her was SOTN and i was intrigued ever since. In the game shes way more powerful than Alucard, maybe when shes matured in the series she'll rival his power

Yeah, when she grows after the whole ordeal. She'll learn the ways of ninjutsu. She also trained and improved her physical abilities harder. Learning a 1000 knives and guardian knuckles and she wears a victorian green ninja dress. Almost like a shinobi, as it said from the original game like Symphony of the Night.

Didn't she use doves as her regular attack in the game? (She does in Castlevania DS) Can't wait to see if she summons the Azure Dragon in Season 2. Though is kinda funny she cannot harness the raw elements by themselves like her mother does and it's instead through the summons. I know a previous commenter mentioned it could be due to her father being a devil forgemaster, but I feel he just found the machine and managed to make it work, instead of having the natural talent of Hector and Isaac.
She did use doves, but they wanted her to be more close to her original idea of harnessing the four celestial beasts so they gave her vermillion birds

Not only that, when she grew older, she'll dressed up on green ninja Victorian like dress. Wearing a mystical knuckle (Guardian Knuckle). Like in the original game. After the Rhondo of Blood, she was completely trained. She learned to develop her summoning powers with new style and technique, kickboxing, stealth, as well as the art of ninjutsu. Her ultimate power is combining all 4 Asian Mythos in 1 body absorbing its power, which protects you from harm, and she can annihilate enemies with multiple blows. As it showed from Castlevania Symphony of the Night.
Can't wait to see the azure dragon next season.

Actually, 3, there were 4 legendary Holy Asian Mythos. The Vermillion Bird of the South, the White Tiger of the West, the Black Tortoise (Black Warrior) of the North, and the Azure Dragon of the East. Only 3 were shown in the TV show, but 1 creature wasn't summoned. It's the Azure Dragon, so it might be shown in the new 2nd season, possibly.

So what is the lore of her power?
Haven’t seen the show but in the games it’s due to her bloodline. The Renard family offshoot of the Belmont line, meaning she and Richter are distant cousins. It’s possible she’s more closely tied to the Belnades Clan as Sypha’s descendants with Trevor have incorporated magic into their bloodline on top of the destiny fighting evil started by Leon. When the Dark Priest Shaft kidnapped her he tried to perform a ritual to bring out her powers. If you find the key as Richter and her cell you can stop the ritual and unlock a nearly unstoppable 12 year old Maria as a playable character.
