Happy to see a young woodworker using traditional tools. Great job
@@geraldbourque5674 thank you
Props for using hand tools on the seat. I watched in awe as Sam precarved each section of the chair seat prior to glue up, using the band saw. He showed us the templates he had for each section. Eliminating alot of carving later and allowing for repeatability. A Maloff chair is on my bucket list. Nice video
@@edadpops1709 thank you
NOT FAIR!!! You have a Master Cabinet Maker running around you:) Just WoW Impressive!
Damn what a work of art!!!!! Beautiful beautiful .Man you really worked
Nicely done! Really like the idea of using a jointer to contour the back braces. Thanks for posting.
Well done young man. Congrats.
@@joer5627 thank you
Love this.... I can't wait till I have the skill to make one! After I give my daughters room a make over ill attempt one! Thanks you this was beautiful
That's beautiful!.
Okay, that is a serious piece of art! A pleasure to watch from start to finish.
yes, as beautiful as a wooden boat and much more attainable, for me, new goal
Great work. The carving was intense. Congratulations.
İ admire your work, excellent 👏👏👏👏
Thank you
Crazy impressive!!
Incredible craftsmanship!
Pretty dang cool Sir!
It is work of art. Curved shape, color and design all are balanced and beautiful. Perfect👍👍👍
Wow. Amazing chair & skillful editing.
The finish is lovely! Also, serious props for using so many hand tools! You make them look so easy, but I (as a person who has messed up too many pieces of wood trying to use hand tools) know better. Amazing work!
Beautiful!
👍 🇪🇸
Très beau travail.
Looks amazing! So much shaping. Wish I had a nice covid lockdown project to refine my patience Haha.
Beautiful. Excellent video. Thank you.
Soooo much carving. Looks really good man! 😁

Отличная работа, молодец . Желаю миллионных подписок.

Andreas Achleitner thanks
Incredible job you did there 👏 nicely crafted ❤

Magnificent job. Great video!
Nice work! I love it.
MUY HERMOSA QUEDO LA CILLA AMACA FELICITACIONES 🥰👍
good
Произведение искусства!!!
Very beautiful
Nice ! You will be very popular very soon. Hint, don’t use screws in the next build. It was high quality, until then. That’s the difference in a couple hundred bucks. Best of luck.
Beautiful job and great video👍
Very nice. Just less music and more wood shop sounds would be more pleasurable for me. Still very enjoyable.
Thnks for the feedback
Excelente!
Wonderful craft 👏 👌 and keep up the good work
The wood grain is gorgeous. So is your craftsmanship. Do you need my address for shipping it? JK. It sure is a beautiful piece of furniture. Thanks for sharing the build.
good
Nice job looks great 👍 😁😁
yep it does
Beautiful very good. I like +1.
Superb!
Your real good.
This is an amazing piece! Great job man! I love this chair! I’m thinking about building a Maloof inspired chair myself. This came out fantastic!
Thanks man I appreciate that. I say go for it.
I guess Im asking randomly but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account?
I somehow forgot my login password. I would love any assistance you can give me

Tim,
Nice work. I'm curious whose plans you used. I know it's inspired by Maloof. Looks heavier somehow. Not trying to be critical. Could be camera angles.
Beautiful in any case. Keep at it.
CLASSICALBUILDER yeah it a thicker then Maloofs, I didn't have any plans.
@@TimWatson100 Personally, I think it looks better that way
Excelente e maravilhoso trabalho, qual a madeira que foi usada.
Ok, you defiantly earned a bunch more subscribers including mine…. Where did you get the plans for that chair? Building Sam Maloof rocking chairs are very much on my bucket list. I yearn to build one for each of my family members before I die. I’m in my 60’s so I better get started..
I didn't have a plan I used a chair someone else had built. Best of luck building one, my advice is to just dive in.
ding ding ding ding ding... this.
Hi Tim how much do you sale the raking for me ?
For the front and back leg bridle joints, please tell me the specs on the rabbet bit, diameter of the bit and the diameter of the bearing. Thanks.
Nice work Tim. Hand carving shows how wonderfully skilled you are. What timber thickness did you start with?
8/4 is pretty much the standard
Very Nice build. I don't understand why you made the video so fast. I found it hard to watch. I would much rather sit back and enjoy and appreciate every step at a more pleasurable speed. I understand how many hours a project like this takes, but a nice video maybe 30 to 45 minutes would be much more comfortable to watch. It wound be more educational and appreciated more. But again a very nice build. Thanks for presenting it.
Tim, that is gorgeous! What did you use to finish it?
Matt Cooksey It is Polyurethane cut with mineral spirits
Hey,
where did you get your dimensions for Sam’s rockers? I haven’t found much, but haven’t looked that hard.
Great work, would love to see more.
Nicely done! Just curious how many hours did you put into building that?
I didn’t keep track, I would guess around 50
Wow! That is amazing that you only have 50 hours in it. You are a very talented craftsman/artist.
How long did it take you to get finished? It's amazing!!!
Tiziano Vit I didn’t keep track but it took a few weeks probably around 60 hrs
@@TimWatson100 thanks a lot, it's beautiful!!
Sam is rolling over in his grave watching you attach the arm rests with screws
How many hours did you work on it?
красавчик
Wow amazing chair!!
Can you tell me which camera do you use for shooting video? Thanx
I used an iphone 😃
Linda.
Also, if you don’t mind me asking, do you have a ratio for the finish? I saw in another comment it is polyurethane cut with mineral spirits, but which brand/type of polyurethane do you use, and how much do you mix and cut? I would love a recipe!
Sorry for the late response, but if remember correctly it was half polyurethane and half mineral spirits.
As always. The title should be: watch how i work.
Make a Papasan 48” chair 😁.
Can you let me know how much is it ?
I don’t know you can hammer-chisel a chair top… #til
Tim what type of glue did you use for laminating the rockers at the beginning?
amzn.to/3wQP0uJ
Titebond III? Yours looked brown almost like a polyester or hide glue
@@webcrawler3332 O yes that was a hide glue, and I don't know what kind it was, it was something my dad had there in the shop
@@TimWatson100 I thought it was. I was just curious as you don’t see people using it that much these days.
@@webcrawler3332 yeah, it gives you a little more time to work with as it sets up slower, and it also dries extremely hard, eliminating flex in bent laminations
I’m making a low backed dining chair version for school... I’m 17 and I wandered if u had any ripe for carving the seat? I’m using an electrical carving tool but I noticed your using some different ones? Why and what are they called.. Thank you for the video.. 🤙
Yeah the power carving tool works well but sometimes can require a lot more sanding to get it even surface, the hand carving method takes a little more time to get the right shape but when you get there it’s closer to being finished.
I don’t know off the top of my head but they’re called exactly but you can find them at www.leevalley.com
@@TimWatson100 thank you.. I really appreciate it!
What finish did you use looks amazing
It’s polyurethane cut with mineral spirits
very good. sub...you.

Lose the music.
Now that has to be about the most amazing rocker I've ever seen! Might I inquire as to cost?
Cost to build, or cost of finished product?
