Funny, I've had a 2014 Jeep Latitude and had this issue. This totally fixed it in about 3 minutes, but I had NO idea there was an actual key stored in the FOB and have owned it for over a year, lol! Thanks for the video!

Thank you! This is the only thing that worked to get my fobs working again. Instead of paper I used some small pieces of closed cell foam but the result was perfect! Thank you again!!
I doubted this at first then tried the paper he is a goat
Did this to my smart key fob, the chip was gunked up! Used some Isopropyl alcohol and it worked like magic! Saved me some cash. Keep up the good work dude!

Able to lock with remote in a month but when I seen your video I opened it up and I also
noticed mine had two contact rings that are suppose to go over the contact holes and they were also laying around loosely in the housing I realigned them
And now both lock and unlock work.
man that circuit board was dirty but I switch everything into a new key fob and it worked....after I started the car. Thanks.

Can't believe it. My second fob stopped working 2 years ago. I cleaned it and replaced the battery to no avail. The paper trick worked like a charm! I did it to my other fob as preventative maintainence.

Just did this on my 2013 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo and it worked. I had to play with the paper a bit to get it to work but it worked. Instead of buying a backing I took some isopropyl and cleaned those metal tabs off as well, one of them did fall off but little tack of super glue did the trick.

Can’t thank you enough for this very clear, detailed video. Although my 2005 Jeep key is a little different, a little goo gone on a swab, a little tightening of the battery squeeze clips, and (though I didn’t believe it) a little folded paper to tighten up the “rubber pushing metal contact” action has both my keys locking and unlocking the Jeep after nearly a year of inconsistent remote locking. I won’t be waking the neighbors up at 6AM any more, setting off the alarm while opening the door after the locks wouldn’t remotely unlock with either key. Watching you do the work, up close, made all the difference!

So those little silver pieces came off my mom little board and it wouldn't work. Can I just glue those back onto the rubber piece

But they did not have any skins for a 2014 jeep Cherokee, said did not fit my vehicle, I did find on another site
a pack of two fobs for $34 that fit my vehicle and i will just change the circuit boards over, Thanks for you video

I tried this but I noticed the car was bugging out. It locked and unlocked the jeep automatically. Anyone else have this issue.
Anyone have a issue with ur key when u just swing it around it opens ur door ? Sometimes my door for the inside takes like 3sec to open ?
I had this same issue, where it'd unlock or lock without pressing any buttons. Opened up my FOB and the connectors were covered in black gunk. Cleaned them with rubbing alcohol and works like new now!
