I search the issue and find out that you need to replace the hood latch there’s a sensor and that’s the reason why it won’t work. Here’s short video how I made it.
Thank you for making this. I have the same issue with my 2015 JGC. And the dealership is telling me that is not under warranty and it will cost $107 for the latch and $280 for the labor. The latch only cost $40 to $50 bucks. I plan on getting one and doing it myself. Thanks again for sharing.

My 2014 limited Cherokee does not have remote start. Please let me know how can I get this function. In an original way or a plow and play system? Is it possible to code a new remote control with the remote start option?
On my 2013 it seem difficult to get access to the screws that hold the latch in place. It would've been great to see how you did the replacement. Did you have to remove the grill & bumper cover to replace the hood latch?
A V hi I didn’t remove the grill or the bumper I didn’t record the process because it’s hard to hold the camera and work on that but I’ll take pictures and show you how

Your check engine light must be on clear the code with a obd reader about 45 bucks on Amazon it will scan the codes let you know which one set off the light and you can fix the part usually a sensor or just erase the code.

Is this the sensor for all functions operated by the fob - like door locks?

I changed the hood latch sensor and still having the same issue..

I changed the starter and the issue got resolved .
What if it start but cut off like 10 secs after it start
