No tricks needed! I'm pretty stoked about it, though.

@Lone Caucasian Male That'd be awesome. Unfortunately I have bone spurs.

You could totally climb 5.12 single-pitch sport climbs with some time and training! It's true that these climbs take time and a plan in order to approach, but it is absolutely possible. Just wanted to be a voice in the comments to say that anyone can move towards climbing hard sport routes.
When I started climbing, it took two months to send my project. That was a top-rope 5.7 in the gym. On a random warm snap last December, I sent my first 5.11c on lead outside, and I'm hoping to bag my first 12's this summer. I never dreamed of being a 5.12 climber. But with support from friends, a commitment to pushing yourself, and living in a headspace of overcoming fear, hard climbs are attainable!

I agree with you Cal. I was going to say something if I didn't see your comment

To be fair, 5.12 will be in the "I need to do dedicated training" category for some people and no longer reacheable by just climbing a bunch, but it is certainy doable with enough dedication.

Potentially deadly mistake at 5:19 - looks like you need to extend your rappel device farther away from your harness in order for the prusik to catch the brake strand and arrest a fall if you let go, otherwise the top of the prusik will reach the rappel device and never lock up.

If you guys aren't 5.12 climbers you might as well pack the bags and go home

Why the cliché soundtrack and cliché editing style. Seems like the McDonald’s of climbing.
