    This is a short video on the steps I took to line my truck bed with Herculiner. I am no expert and my truck is used residentially only. The one gallon can provided 3 coats for my 5'7" bed. If you have any constructive comments or questions please feel free. Thank you

    Nice demo, Kevin. Truck bed looks professionally done! Thanks for explaining it so well. I also appreciate the low noise level of the music. Best is no music.
    1. Use an angle grinder with a wire cup brush ($5 at Harbor Freight) to sand contours. Works well.,
    2. Do you know if Herculiner is an Epoxy or a Polyurethane based paint? Epoxy has a shorter pot life land tends to crack under vibration.
    3. Can you custom tint Herculiner?

    • @hdkevin4387
      @hdkevin4387  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks for the compliment! Great idea on the wire cup. As for the base, it’s polyurethane. I do know it sat in my basement for years before applying and had no issues. I am not sure on tinting. I think it comes in a few basic colors. Raptor liner seems to be a big player in the game being tintable

    • @lass-inangeles7564
      @lass-inangeles7564 Před 3 lety +1

      @@hdkevin4387 Raptor Liner is an epoxy paint. This means short pot life and prone to crack under vibrations. Not the best choice for vehicles. It is also only sprayable, no brush work or rollers probably due to short working time before it hardens. Therefore I am looking for other solutions - polyurethane based paints.

    Did you only use one gallon for all 3 applications?

      Hello. If I remember correctly (and I think I mentioned it on the video but can't remember) I did three coats on the bottom of the bed and the tailgate and 2 coats on the inside side walls. My truck is a 5'7" mini Ram bed so I would think a typical short bed could only get 2 coats from a gallon

  • @maurerconstructioninc.724

    The sun will break it down fast, in one year I had factory paint showing through. Absolute junk, I am a pro so don't say I didn't do it right. I also ordered 2 kits. Hopefully you don't use your truck bed because the texture will grab and tear open concrete bags and if you slide in a sheet of sheet rock it will destroy it. Oh yah and if you slide in a sheet of melamine it will shave it to the factory paint because it is not hard enough and bad adhesion. I hate my 04 Dodge Ram anyway so it will look like cra_ until I kill it. Do Not Waste Your Time And Money!

      I have a tonneau cover on it and a year later it is still looking new. I have seen the sun destroy some too. I would not think someone with a commercial duty application would want to go this route. There are so many better options but cost way more. As they say, cry now or cry later...

    Looks like crap. Why would you do something like this when you can get linex done for $500- $800 and comes with a warranty

      I was being cheap. My next truck I will save up and get the Line X. Still holding up perfectly a year later
