Today I’m going to take you on a journey through tincture making! Tincture making is very easy and may seem more complicated than it should. In this video we will be harvesting Calendula from my garden and using the fresh petals to make a beautiful Calendula tincture. Calendula Is great for beginners because it is one of the easiest herbs to grow and it has so many medicinal properties. Be sure to comment below if you’ve made any tinctures yourself! Ps I have made calendula and plantain slave, calendula & lemon balm salve and plain calendula salve & lip balms. I also read that calendula not to be used or ingested whilst pregnant or breastfeeding

Good video. I have made many tinctures, but I have used Mexican sugar cane alcohol, which is 96% alcohol. You can order cane alcohol online if you don't live near the Mexican border. It isn't cheap, but at least it's available.

Are both wax paper and parchment paper ok to use under the lid? The video showed parchment, but you said wax 😅 sorry just want to know what works.

Can you make a tincture using dried calendula rather than fresh? If so, how much would you use for a pint?
Oh yes that would be fine. Fresh herbs have higher water content than dry. Your tincture will be a bit stronger. Fill your pint half way with dried calendula 🌱

Everclear is better to use than vodka
I can appreciate your opinion. I don’t use everclear because I prefer the folk method that is easier to dose and control the potency. Everclear is also hard for many to purchase. Thanks for watching!
