    Today we're checking out a used 2002 Yamaha Road Star Warrior 1700. This was Yamaha's flagship muscle cruiser for a good number of years. The bike has a 102 ci (about 1680cc) air cooled V-Twin engine. It's a 5 speed with inverted front forks and dual disks in the front. It's not necessarily the gnarliest of all the muscle bikes; however, it's one of the best in my opinion due to the superb handling and aggressive looks. Let's see if this one will be added to the collection. Stay tuned as I do my first walk around, ride, review, impressions, and share my thoughts on the bike.

    Buy it Bro!!! I have an 07' Warrior and it rips like nobody's business! It is so nimble and light for the power. Take off the pin stripes and saddle bags, throw on drag bars and keep that thing for yourself Jon! You'll fall in love in 2 weeks of riding. Thanks for the great video's!!

    I bought an 03 Warrior back in 2010, it was one of my dream bikes. Someone pulled out in front of me in 2016, did some extensive damage to the bike, but I couldn’t bear to get rid of it so it sits in my garage waiting to be rebuilt

    I sat but it. A warrior is definitely one on my list. I have owned a Stryker, raider but not a warrior. One of these days. It does suck there’s not a bigger market for the muscle cruisers. I love them

    My buddy just gave me his, as he is off to law school and couldn't take it with him. Best gift ever. 13,000 miles, 2002. Had a few things to address. Had a fuel leak. Easy fix. But now, I need to probably replace the fuel filter. Love the bike though. Tons of power, handles better than any 1500cc + Harley I have tried.

    My buddy loved his, claimed it handled almost intuitively (for a cruiser). I looked at them but that damn footpeg location! (Same issue I have with VRods). If your leg catches something, you can lose it. I know people like that.

    • @jonathanhamby6528
      @jonathanhamby6528 Před 4 lety +1

      I'm with u, I grew up riding dirt bikes & I just don't like forward controls in town. Every cruiser I've had with forward controls I have converted to mid controls & then put pegs where the forward controls were for highway pegs. Mid controls for me are much more comfortable in town with red lights & stop signs & I feel like I can ride more aggressive and have more control in the twisties, & by putting pegs were the forwards were I can still stretch out & change up my seating position on the highway/interstate & longer rides. For me that is the best set up, I feel like I get the best of both worlds.

      The guts of the shock/spring are up in the top of the fork, while the bottom/slider is simply the plunger. Less unsprung mass. Also allows for an adjustable suspension, since the damper is up top and thus easily accessible.

    Imo the warrior makes the vtx 1800 feel like a pig. Sure VTX pulls harder in a drag race but warrior rips harder through corners... with a touring seat and backrest it's pretty comfy on highway

    • @gd6349
      @gd6349 Před 4 lety

      With a few little goodies like the Patrick Racing 110 big bore kit , afte= market air intake , port and polish along bigger valves and true straight through drag pipes a warrior turns into a beast !!! And bone stock they're 84 horse and 99ft lbs of torque , not to mention the suspension and brakes are taken straight from the Yamaha R1 1000cc sportbike , thus the great handling , also for those of you who don't know , from 2004 on the 1700 Roadstar is a warrior engine but with a carburetor 04, 05 , 06 , then 07 on they got fuel injection , so you can make all the same engine mods to the roadstar as the Warrior and they'll haul butt as well 😁
