What I love about Jon's driving while on a Yamaha Warrior... He ran every stop sign in the video! He may (or may not) make it to retirement!
I just bought a 2005 warrior 1700. Vance and Hines big shot exhaust. Velocity stack intake. Fantastic machine!
I agree with you 100% Yamaha nailed it when they built this bike I had to get me one final in 07 and still have it right today beautiful design bike some people call it the Intimidator
I have a 04. It's still a beast 16 years later. It's most stock besides a exhaust I put on it. I have so much fun Everytime I take it out. The Harley Boys at work don't give me as much grief for buying a Yamaha after we all went out and I took them to gapplebease. It's a great bike! I don't know what I would get next or what bike would make me smile as much as the Warrior does. I hope to have her for more years to come.

Thank you for the video. It's August of 2023 and i have a chance to buy a very clean 2003 model. Because of this and the many other videos singing its praises, if I can get it, i will. I'm a sport bike enthusiast, and at sixty-four years its time to get off my wrists.

HD tried to patent their sound in the 80s or 90s. It forced Honda to reconfigure their engine angle. Yamaha went around it by making that series of engine sound more badass than a good Harley.
I've owned 9 Harleys and Two Warriors, and I absolutely agree

Yamaha Raider would be my go to for long distance

@@Theologic Cool! I ride 2 90° V twins, both Suzuki. Sounds are great. SV1000S and VStrom650. Love them both.

i want one . this is one of the best bikes for that kind of money . to bad yamaha stopped making them.. yamaha has no bikes to day ,like this one. that i like . the raider is also one of my favorites.
It does sound good. You take those speed bumps a lot faster than I do. If I can go around them I do.
I have an 04 and she's a forever bike... others will come and go but she's my girl. Never let's me down!

Just a warning if you're trying to wheelie the Warrior. I've now broken 2 drive belts from doing wheelies on mine. Not worth it unless you convert it to chain drive lol.

As far as HD V-Rod goes, there were 2 models during the production run the "Street Rod" (no, not that one) and the Night Rod (not Night Rod Special) that had foot controls that fell about just below the seat, very similar to the Bolt C-spec.
Really hope you can do a direct comparison with a VTX soon ... I know you’ve ridden one, but not for quite some time, yeah?! Perhaps a subscriber nearby would lend you one for a comparison ... ?
I didn’t even see this and my thoughts were exactly and I commented accordingly.
I'm in the process of buying on of these. It has a gorgeous V&h pro pipe, but there's no way of using that in Germany, it will get me in trouble with cops all the time. So sadly I'm gonna buy it with the stock exhaust and put a slip-on on it.
Its incredibly rare here and I got a really good offer. Could you do some more vids on this bike? I need my warrior itch scratched until winter is over and I can finally go and test ride and maybe buy that bike.

The engines in these are great. I have a Yamaha MT-01, which is a sporty naked with flat track bars and not much else. It is powered by this 1670 cc V-twin. It weighs 584 lbs wet and production ceased in 2012. It is a cult bike in Europe. You didn't get it in USA, although Canada did. You should google it if you don't know it.
Just did, the styling isnt as attractive as the Warrior it has more of a dual sport look with up right positioning
Certainly more sporty, but you actually tilt forward to the bars. Not totally upright like on a big trails bike.

I had an 02 for some time. It went along with my zx10r in the garage. Fun bike. I miss it sometimes, but never liked the cheap feeling control housings. I know it’s nitpicking, but I hated that detail. Lol.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY 2005 RAVEN EDITION (blacked out) - had it 14 years now,10K on the clock as of 2021 - Hopefully will never sell it

How does it stack up to a m109? I know my 08 RS warrior is an absolute blast too ride with PCS exhaust and Power Commander 5. Also after 06, compression ratio was tweaked but its such a great handling, lightweight and good looking PC
Never owned a 109, its about the only Suzuki next to the Busa that I liked
The 109 is to Suz what the Warrior is to Yami...the best bike they produced
Honda's best bike IMO was the VTX 1800 From the Mid 2000's
I own a 2005 and I tell you this bike delivers the mail.if you are not holding on when you crack the whip your ass will be sitting on the pavent while your bike takes off without you..I can burn rubber in first four gears

@@joerocket3rider603 true that love the rockets 3 as well but just generally speaking like the average rider can hop on and enjoy turns instead of having to carefully maneuver to find that perfect point. But we gotta agree that the rocket 3 is a whole nother beast lol i would love to own one but can never find any near me.
ed drasco Well worth the trouble if you can get your mitts on one... I am fortunate enough to own a 2015 model and the new 2020 model... two completely different bits of kit, but each a blast in its own manner...
@@joerocket3rider603 don't get me started on the 2020 model they made that thing look amazing but curious I have ridden my friends rocket 3 with some upgrades. How does the 2020 stack up i mean does it just blow it away?
ed drasco Depends on your mate’s upgrades on the earlier model... apart from any sort of power enhancements... stock to stock, shall we say... the 2020 model is near a sport bike to the previous iteration, not so much in terms of raw power, though there is a bit more, but less weight and much more nimble... have to re-calibrate a bit each time I come off one to the other... oh, and heaps of grunt with both bikes, but have to say the overdrive gear on the 2020 version is a huge upgrade... apologies for the over-long response... will probably cure you from asking another Rocket owner about his Rocket!

Vtx 1800 is hands down the gnarlier bike in terms of performance. The warrior i think is a better handing/less daunting option for those who don't want the sheer adrenaline rush! Lol.
Jon's Moto Garage Yeah I definitely enjoy the fact that I have to be careful not to get that rear wheel to break loose on me. Even in top gear at 65 mph a twist of the wrist(no reference intended) and the quickly accelerates to 80-85 in no time at all. It has definitely been quite the learning curve cornering this machine. Maybe one day I’ll get the opportunity to ride that Yamaha as it sounds like a sweet ride and nimble turner
Dude I promise you, My warrior will totally get your attention when you twist the throttle, and for the money you can't beat it! Although there is a friend of mine who has a VTX , and he's interested in doing some trading, so I am going to check it out, I'll let you know how it goes. ✌🏻
