Small thing: love the eye edit in the thumbnail. I think that could have been a really cool look in the movies especially considering the sun on their world. Maybe they evolved to have different eyes. Also adds to the whole idea of them being like non-human animals
thanks, the books mention his black eyes before he dies, so felt like doing a small effect out of it
I think it would have lessened Stellan Skarsgard's acting range and made the character less memorable. You would lose so much by removing the contrast in his eyes

It was excessively explored in the book how improbable Yueh's betrayal was to the Atreides. Also he didn't finish the entire house, first of all he only made it much easier for the Harkonnen to execute the attack, and may I remind you, not all of Atreides have been exterminated

And Harkonnen is Finish surname, obviously Frank Herbert was inspired by Slavic and Ugrofinish group of languages while portraying House of Harkonnen in his book.
So some of the slave were actually male. I though they look different from the Female slave.

Also, already in Part Two (after drinking the mighty blue juice lol) Paul already reeks of extremism and doesn't seem to display any kind ov reservation or self control he had before

In the book, it is clearly said that the baron does horrible things for his pleasure, but doesn’t need the other one to suffer if it’s doesn’t bring him spice or sex. It is said that de vries is the one who really gets pleasure FROM making other suffer.

Not to spoil anyone's pleasure of the fictitious world of Dune but do you notice that a typical strategy how to create a villain is to give him a Russian name, make him physically repulsive and gay? Because for decades, this strategy paid off. It's based on good old homophobia, Western fear of Russia during the Cold War, and our culture's tendency to identify good physical form with good moral values and vice versa.
Love these films, but not enough character development and is a sterilised Paul and Channei road trip folm.

I hated the new movies as an adaptation. Too much was changed.
The worst was the deletion of Alia.
Alia taking out Vladimir is such sweet poetic justice when you understand what her being an abomination really means.
Before she was born she had the memories of all her female predecessors. This means she knows what her grandfather did and experienced that horror before she was born.
This new Baron is a moron.
with the limited time dune 2 has as a movie, it makes more sense for paul to kill the baron himself, and has more justice, considering what the baron did to duke leto in the first film.
also a scene where a toddler put some needle in the barons neck, that removes much seriousness from the movie, and is hard to do, mainstream audiences wont take dune seriously
and personally, i dont want to see a baby kill the baron either

I think it's more appropriate to have Alia assassinate The Baron than Paul doing it.
Alia was born with the memory of what Vladimir did to Helen. That's pretty important to the death of The Baron. It's almost like Helen and Jessica are getting their revenge on him.

I like these as movies but I despise them as a Dune adaptation. Too much was changed and many of the main themes were lost.

Saw dune part 1 last night was really impressed. Others say in others comments have mixed or negative reviews of dune 2. And say it was garbage or boring. And strayed from the books often. Are the negative opinions just exaggeration? I also saw the 80s version david lynch dune and i thought it was alright but a bit cheesy considering it was from the 80s

In the books, he was much more sadistic and perverted. Lynch did a much better job with his character. Villeneuve just gone the woke road, because you know, gay people cannot be sadistic and perverted in today Zeitgeist.
