There's probably a line that Jimmy doesn't cross to stop himself from just straight up saying something mean with no humour behind it, but he does go further than a lot of other comics go, man really came up twice in a top ten most offensive jokes list
I think he goes farther than chappelle
I wouldn't go pay to see this chap.
No he doesn't just cross it. He walks all around it and shows you the exact dimensions of said line.
Its a miracle that Jimmy is still not getting cancelled until today

I used to work as a waiter about 10 years ago, and waited his table in Birmingham when he was performing at the NIA, twice actually. He's a really nice guy, very chilled out, extremely polite, very friendly.
Jimmy Carr is the example of the line of comedy. He is able to make hilarious jokes that are also very dark but shouldn’t offend anyone.
It helps that he makes jokes at the expense of everyone well making it perfectly clear he has no hate in his heart for any of them

Most of them are just wordplay and the serious context is just to give them a bit of an edge but aren't particularly offensive

Seen Jimmy a couple of times live at the indigo theatre in the O2 in London. Very very funny, probably my favorite stand-up Comedian. Controls the audience, riffs off the members in the crowd, just very very good at what he does😁😁😁😁

Jimmy Carr is a master. I know lots of people laugh at his jokes and understand he's funny. But the way people talk about comedy, its clear they don't understand how it works and they don't even understand what the joke is about after they have heard it. Like many of his jokes involve offensive topics, and some overly sensitive people might say 'you can't joke about X'... but they fail to realize, while X is part of the joke, the actual comedy, the actual source of the core 'surprise' which is the heart of the laugh, is almost always something completely unrelated and different. Jimmy knows what he's doing, and he's like a linguistic and conceptual ninja. A real master.
The ending of that bit was so funny I actually replayed it. Comedic genius on so many levels. Just don't find most comics all that funny after Carr
