Remember how V wanted to call someone? That's the chained phone booth in RM's short film- he never picks up. There's tons of other callbacks like that. The flaming piano (signifying Suga's demise) showed up in Jungkook's film and "interrupted" the song, while in Suga's film the car crash that Jungkook gets into is repeatedly shown throughout. Jimin eats an apple, Jin rejects the apple. J-hope sees the painting, Jimin sees the painting. J-hope was the one in Fake Love lying on the Snickers bars, and he eats one here. Tons of cool little details that really tie all of these and the storyline together, even if loosely.

I think the most important things in these short films are the symbols that represent each member and the connections between each member. For example - Apple, water = Jimin. Fire, piano = Suga. Phone booth = V. Mirrors = RM. Whistling + painting = JK. Snickers, carnival, pills, mother = Hobi. Seokjin's has all of these linked together.
And so far and so forth.

In Suga's story his mom died on a fire, in J-hope's story his mom left him with a candy bar. That scene you remembered with Snickers bars was J-hope in Fake Love MV
Where was the information about sugas mom death? The piano is his "first love" and he plays on it part of "Begin" JK's song and then he hears his whistling it, so he searches for JK but it turns out it's just an echo from before the accident. So the car going into the piano symbolizes JK's accident (JK= piano=first love)

The wallpaper is filled with drawings of “abraxas” its a god figure from demian the book, which isnt religious but the god of both evil and good
Abraxas actually is associated with Gnosticism, so it's not entirely accurate to say it's not a religious deity.

remember when we said the pairings were important? yoongi's story and jungkook's story are connected. the whistling you hear in "first love" is the same tune as in "begin". another interesting thing that someone pointed out before is that in "begin", jungkook shouted "hyung" which is an honorific for an older male figure (him calling the other 6 members) and in that exact time stamp in each short film, every one of them reacted as if they heard him. you can see that easier from watching the videos separately instead of the compilation :]
- if I'm not mistaken, yoongi reacts to jungkook's call and avoids getting hit by the car, namjoon covers his ears at the same time stamp and the mirrors explode etc.

The whistling from First Love is actually from Begin if you having noticed. Also the whistling saved his life as well. If he hadn't moved from the piano he would've been hit as well.
Another thing you might have missed is that in Reflection you can hear the sound of the phone ringing. If you remember in Stigma V asked the officer if he could make a phonecall. He might have called RM who didn't answer the phone.
The one that was laying on top of the candy was J-hope who was abandoned in the carnival with a Snickers bar. If you remember in Fake Love the room he was in had obviously the candy and carnival rides and things related to it.
For Awake the first picture it looks like a portrait of a reflection. You also mentioned the wallpaper so if you don't know about Eden and Eve, Eve was actually tricked by the serpent to eat the fruit from the tree of something ( i forgot the name🙃) that God had forbidden then to eat from. Anyways the wallpaper does look like a women with legs that look like a serpent and the women was holding the apple but it also looks like a tree in a way. I'm also glad you mentioned it because I just noticed it.

Agree! Somewhat same with J-Hope’s story, too. Because he mentioned before that his mom worked overseas to support his dream of being a dancer. Thus, he was ‘left behind’ as he was growing up.

You're really confusing yourself actually... Jungkook - Suga are connected, V- Rm are connected, Jimin - Jhope are connected and Jin is connected to all the members.
And now, as we move into Blood Sweat & Tears, the pairings shift, and we see RM & Jungkook, JHOPE & V, Suga & JIMIN……and again Jin, alone. There’s also a Japanese version of BS&T, which adds some important clues and events.

I just realized that it might be harder for you to remember all the things you saw in the past because I assume you only watch them once while recording your reaction. What made me realize that is because of all references to previous videos that you missed (assuming you would have said it out loud if you caught on). While for us ARMYs, we had time to analyze the videos while we wait for the next one back then.
I was going to point things out but I’m sure others already have in the comments. But thank you for sharing your filming perspective and why certain scenes are shot the way they are. It’s very interesting.

You're basically us when these short films came out! xD The "I understand something but, in the end, I understand nothing" feeling xD This was before all of the webtoons, the notes novel, love yourself highlight reels (the one where jin's girl got hit by a car) so we were completely clueless. So that was a nice throwback for me. Thank you for reacting to and appreciating these short films!
13:52 seraphim (which are like the highest ranking order of angels) can have 3+ sets of wings so that might be one of them, so yeah you would be right in thinking it is a biblical angel depiction. (thank you to my intro to art history class on Renaissance art lol)
15:30 yeah you are right it was Hobi with all the Snickers candy in the Fake Love mv. Also that pic flashes in V's eyes in the Stigma short video ans V also has a like Polaroid version of this painting with him in the On Stage Prologue
Also I'd like to add that depictions of angels in the bible are really terrifying so he was in the right track. And there's something about angels with multiple eyes and the scene has those too. But I think it might not be related to seraphins (I can't remember the exact description of a seraphim in the bible and about the eyes I just remembered because of Aziraphale from Neil Gaiman's 'Good Omens' 😅).
@@aroacecreature lol zero judgment here. I've been obsessed with Resident Evil Village and one of the characters named Mother Miranda is designed after a seraphim, so that's why this info is all relatively fresh in my smooth brain lmao.

I can’t take this: Jin actually is a TIME TRAVEL to change unfortunate destiny to every member but ended up make a butterfly effects.
Actually that's why i wanted you to react to all of them in 1 video, bcs it's hard to remember that the whisper on yoongi's video was the same one for jungkook or that the phone booth for Rm was the same for V. But you're doing a great job and i really enjoy your videos and explainings.

The whistle is also in BEGIN with Jungkook-Jungkook and Suga/Yoongi’s storyline is very interwoven bc they had a very close relationship (different people interpret it as friendship, romantic, or queerplatonic) but whatever the preference in interpretation is, they were very close and the melody that Suga/Yoongi is playing is one that he played with/for Jungkook
It was JHope with the chocolate who’s abandoned by his mom. You got confused since you already said that Suga’s back story was his mother killing herself.

Yes I will agree with this hard on me when I keep hearing the wrong name the wrong person with the wrong story etc.… You kind of have to do your homework before you do these deep dives. Also running through quickly isn’t doing them justice. You miss so many details you need to see.
Also to give you one hint. Whenever jin opens the curtains or glass breaks it means he went back in time again
Plus notice how he always has 6 petals in his hand. One for each member

One overwhelming key to the entirety of Wings is that it references Hermann Hesse's book Demian and by association the philosophies of Fredrich Nietzsche. In Awake you get a major clue with the concept of Abraxas which most of us tied to Judeo-Christian/ Islamic religions are relatively divorced from if exposed at all. (save a Santana album) The hallway wallpaper was imagery of the classical depiction of Abraxas and the bird's flying upward was as the RM read passage stated. The bird which had broken out of its egg was flying to Abraxas.
Now what is Abraxas? The idea of Abraxas is central to much of Wings. Like how we learn thing, Abraxas a fallen angel, in the image of a worm or snake offers the apple which is the fruit of knowledge in the setting of zero dissonance assuming compliant behavior, traditionally the Garden of Eden. But unlike how we frequently interpret it, what Abraxas is offering through knowledge is an opportunity to flower or emotionally self aggrandize. One by accepting what is outside is not relegated to the starkness of adhering to a prescribed thought system but can find the diverse and colorful forest of experience it provides. So knowledge conveyed by the apple is neither good nor bad and it is up to us to find the path through the temptations it offers.
hehehhe getting to know each of the boys names are a kind of confusing to me then but I got over those after I watched " Who is BTS" by Xceleste and the rest of her video series getting to know BTS. I can relate with you, and you're getting there quite well. 💜You nice keep going! 🤗
If you go back to V's short film you see when he's interrogated he's also having flashback of his father, and when the police officer drinks water, V looks away. It reminded him of his father. He asked for one phone call, it's to Namjoon but he couldn't pick it up.
The whistling in Suga's short film is the same tone as JK's solo Begin (the first short film).
Alex, each one of these short films has a making-of, behind-the-scenes video, which I think you would enjoy! I can’t remember if you’ve already seen BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS, but that video is next, as well as BOY MEETS EVIL, if you haven’t seen that yet. After that you’ll be ready for the Love Yourself HIGHLIGHT REELS, then EUPHORIA and EPIPHANY. I recommend checking one of those BU lists that gives the correct order in case I have things mixed up.
If you’re ever not sure if a video is included in the BU, just check its description box and there will be a sentence that says “BU content certified by Big Hit entertainment.” Also, regarding the WINGS short films that you just watched, each one has a corresponding lyric video so you can hear the whole song (there were just snippets of each one in the films), and also there are wonderful live performances of each solo that are exciting to watch.
I really love watching you try to break things down, every symbol, every detail, it’s very nice. Btw, I think you’re getting more familiar with the members now hahahah Soon you’re gonna know them really well

Edit: The piano in the First Love short film was the same piano that was burning in the other clips. Also, the whistle is to the tune of Begin, which was the first short film.

The whistling Suga hears is Jungkook whistling “Begin”. You heard it in the first film. Suga and JK are linked in the storyline. Also the painting JK paints in the first film is of Suga.
Whistling is what “Kromer” (the Sinclers Bully (in book named “Demian”)) used to call Sincler to go with him. It’s not what mothers did to their children
There's a scene where RM looks down on his arm in DNA, and I think it's because of the tattoo from the past that he carved in this short film. No tattoo on his arm in DNA.

When this short films came out, there were no notes, no WEBTOON, no highlight reels, we had no clue what was going on, just pure confusion

I'm not sure but I think the flower that Jin wanted to take picture of, was a representation of all the boys together. But before he could take the picture, the candles went off which again shows failure to bring them together. Then he burnt the flower petals (same flower) but this time, it was torn (exactly 6 petals). Petals were separated, which shows how the boys got separated and he couldn't do anything.
Later those petals turn into Polaroids which again represents each boy and how Jin actually used to take pictures of them when they were together
He points out so many little details that i didn't notice before, I like how he's so into it, love it! 💜 hope he keeps going with the BU

There are lilies with jin mostly and lilies can mean innocence and death. If you count the petal of the lilies on the videos, it's 6. In one of their MV's, jin has a lily projected at his shirt.
The flower petals that Jin burned is can create hallucinations.(In the story, it's an element that allows Jin to travel through time,I guess.)
the first polaroid that you were confused about pictures the writing in rm's short film reflection. it says in korean "we must live/survive". this is important because jin has to save all the members from dying, but he can't do it alone. they must survive together
So, the names of the short films are also the names of theirs solo songs in this album. The whistle in Suga's short film is the song Begin by JK

OMG Alex you pick up even the smallest details that are overlooked by many of us! The wallpaper in Jin's video was actually the God Abraxas, the one which RM spoke about for Jin's Introduction.
Jhope's backstory is really sad when you remember that he can't finish counting frome 1-10 because of trauma. The chocolate is his antidepressant everytime he have an anxiety attack.
Jin doesn't want to see them die again that's why he caged himself in the room. He always heard a voice in his said that the members need him to save them and that's the reason in the markings in the door.

The first polaroid is a picture of the mirror in the first scene of Awake. You only see it for a moment - it's on the wall behind the table. You can also see the blue carpet. If you pause the video at the right time, you'll see that the mirror has RM's handwriting - the same thing he wrote on the mirror in his short film. You must survive.

I think you'll never understand completely everything because as for the story itself all we have is the notes and what they show us through the mvs/short films/trailers/etc. And it's not in a chronological order. So the story is basically a big theory of what is happening gathering all the content they show us but as for now they haven't said exactly what's going on.
But I think army has made a wonderful job taking every little detail for other armys to understand.
So I hope that even if you don't understand completely you still can appreciate the wonderful art they've been presenting us through the years and tbh it's one part (not the only) of what keeps us intrigued.
Of course bts is more than the BU and you can keep enjoying their art even if you don't understand the BU.

The wings era is entirely based on Demian's book, Abraxas is who is in the tapestry, and also V was carving it on the walls in his short film, J hope is the one who in Fake love is surrounded by snikers, since the chocolate represents his trauma but also if I remember his mother who abandoned him as a child, he and Jimin are installed in the hospital

no you got confused the mom thing was jhope and in fake love it was him laying in the chocolate but it’s no issue it’s hard to get the hang of it i get it :(
if you haven’t noticed yet, Jungkook and Yoongi are a pair, Namjoon and Tae, and Jimin and Hobi are a pair as well. They explained that a bit in the Wings explained video, so throughout the story, you should see each member with a pair or something that links the members together.
edit: there are also like sub-pairs, which are Tae and Hobi, Jimin and Yoongi, and Namjoon and Jungkook. They are prominent in the short films because you can see a part of their story in their videos. For example in Taes short film, you see the picture of a mother and child in his eye, and in Hobi’s, you see the graffitied wall in his eye. Also not to mention that at the end, the sub pairs circles combine at the end to make something new.

Every story is intertwined to each other beautifully. These short films are not just films they are their solo songs. 1 Begin by Jungkook who wrote song for his hyungs (big brother like members) for making him more open up and less introvert. So some song they wrote personal stories and conncted to BU. You should check every song lyrics and story behind it.

The apple from the Garden of Eden's :
Jimin in lie takes it as the story around the apple is linked to lies and deceit. Jimin is his own snake. Jin smells it and senses it is "poison" so don't take it. He is the one who is awake. Unlike Jimin, he doesn't lie to himself, he wants to know the truth.
Abraxas : Mythical God from the book Demian. The snake is also a theme there.
Eve : J-hope backstory is about his mom and his circle has Eva written on it.
Virgin Mary : For J-hope story again you can see the painting depicting The Madonna and Child. Which is also linked to J-hope in the blood sweat and tears MV.
Angel wings are also very common in BTS MVs but it's usually fallen angels and very dark versions of angels

Each shortfilm contains a sample of the solo by the member on the wings album.... and sugas contains 2... kind of... because the whistleing is the song begin by jungkook...
And the songs are a really clever mix of the story of the members in the storyline and their real own story... so it's a mix of fiction and reality

In Jin's Film, the picture on the wallpaper is of the god they talked about, Abracxas. The god of good and evil both. This is a reference from book Damien.
The songs from this album and few other songs from the past albums ( which they qoute in the short films) actual give information about certain events
it hasn't started but ik the amount of "intersesting" which are coming

there are a lot of videos you can search here in yt to help you get to know the members more, and i think it will help you too in the future when you go further on the storyline because a lot of things might confuse you and when you have the ability to tell the members apart, you can join armys theorize when you go further to the storyline
what i find interesting about the end of awake is that the shot of the polaroids on the ground doesn’t actually fade to black. the lights go out. it’s nearly impossible to see, but the shot never actually fades all the way to black. it cuts to the white end screen instead. it’s weird and idk what it means but it’s like that for a reason lmao
At that time during Wings era the webtoon wasn't even released. And you were right about the mom and the candy bars. That is all J-Hope's story, he lay in candy in Fake Love.

That was a great catch with the weird sound effects, the ones you mentioned in Reflection actually appeared before in V's film Stigma and is a signal that the videos are connected. If you play certain videos at the same time, you'll see the matching between the visual and the sound across scenes in different videos. It was a super cool thing to discover as the videos first released, you should try pairing up a few videos and seeing if you can find matching scenes!
