But, every time Scott LOSES, we UPGRADE his car!
That fast driver is our very own Scott Mansell, the same man who has held the lap record at Brands Hatch Indy for almost TWENTY YEARS.
Our slow driver is me. I have exactly 0 lap records but the advantage I have is that the car I’ll be driving is my 750 horsepower Nissan GT-R - so let’s see what it can do.

I actually like that Scott didnt do a lap in the GTR. Sometimes you do the challenge and if he cant beat the benchmark then thats okay too. It was actually pretty exciting to watch it be so close and I think that is the point.

Awesome vid. Was fully expecting the Subaru would’ve beat the gtr and would’ve loved to see Scott do a lap in the gtr at the end. Keep pumping out content becuase it maybe my favourite thing to watch a fast driver embarrassing fast cars like the two examples will mentioned toward the start of the vid

@@hileutewie My MK5 TDI has all Darkside parts and is Darkside Tuned.. It's an absolute weapon for it being a daily driven Diesel.
Awesome video. I was literally having a conversation this morning about an exceptional driver vs a keen novice and said once you hit about 2:1 power to weight with most other things pretty equal then skill is not making up the gap. Very cool to see that demonstrated same day.
And that's why I always crank up the horsepower in GT. Which works up to the point I miss the braking point and bounce off the wall.

5:30 Like many others I drive a Passat Company car in germany and I can see the struggle here: My 200HP DSG 4motion has more grunt and grip but this practical box just has tons of body roll and the steering and brakes feel mushy when challenged. But its practical and cheap to run :)

Good lord the sound coming from that GTR. It truly is a supercar that thing.
To be fair that layout has more straight parts than corner ones and two of them being U turn style where engine acceleration matters greatly. I think that GTR might struggle a bit more in the chicane part of the track but then you would also have to include the oval part where it would probably gain back the lost time. Probably requires a testing on a different track which is more narrow.
Well now I know who it is tearing up rockingham circuit since I can always hear yous from 5 minutes away 🤣
I wish they still sold estate cars and manual gearboxes here in the States. My first car was a manual Escort station wagon, and nothing I've had since has been as good as that.

Scott's excuses sound more like knowing exactly where he has room for improvement. I believe that is what makes him better than a lot of drivers, knowing what needs more attention.

Something that would be interesting is to have the fast driver drive the fast car afterwards to see how much of a difference there is.
I think you should invest in drones to record each lap from Birds Eye view ( of the whole track on view ) and then you can show each lap from above at the same time , you could speed them up but just to watch each corner and the lines from above would be cool. Could increase vid length or smth or just look cool and step up the production just that little bit more

Hey scott, thank you for sharing. I've been a sub since the beginnings of driver61, seems and sound kind of silly but, you teached me how to drive a car on the track, from my sim to an actual track in my gr yaris. Again, thank you so much for sharing, your media channels are going up and beyond.

Full track build on the KA, engine swap it, turbo it, uprated injectors and fuel pump. Phaaat ass track tires, good brakes. That would be easy under 10k.
You can grab a used engine, used turbo, used brake kit with new pads and a good set of new tires.

The Passat r line is a sleeper. Same engine as a golf r, great drivetrain and really comfy. Takes people by surprise since it’s low 5s 0-100kmh
that bananabaru is really nice, I think they need another series to versus the subaru
