Catching snapper in the wash on softies - wind wind and more wind, our last day in the north

Well another annual far north trip came to an end with more wind. Out of the 6 days of fishing we only really got the one good day. The great thing is, basing ourselves at the top 10 in Whatuwhiwhi we are still able to fish each day no matter the weather. Staying here gives you so many options even if the weather decides to throw a hissy fit.
The shelter in the Harbour has saved us of the sand and boat and provided a great days fishing just about every time we have to fish it. The 90mile (west coast) is nearby and with locations just about facing every waypoint on the compass, a well planed safe adventure is always on the cards.
Although this adventure wasn't really fishy, even in 25-30knt winds we were able to hug the coastline and get a line wet. A great way to finish off fishing the far north - fishing in the safety of the little Osprey, sheltered from the high cliffs and catching a few nice snaps in the wash with a mate.
