What separates MJ from Kobe and LeBron is you will not find a big moment in his prime where he didn't show up, especially in the playoffs. He just dominate everything, every time, all the time.
He also took 40 shots a game and would miss more than half. It's a team sport
@@johnnypopsicle without them shots they lose by 30!!! Pippen avg 17 ppg while playing with MJ n his career high is 22… Grant avg 12 I mean since everybody always says Chicago had 2 big 3 teams… man truly had no offensive help… look at those final series… if MJ doesn’t avg 30 plus they lose those finals

@@sambeezy007 True but not showing up definitely lead to losses.
I'm African that grew up in Africa. Back in the day, we supported the Chicago bulls because we liked M.J so much. Guess what? We had never watched neither the bulls or M.J play. We just knew that there M.J in America and he is very very good. That's how great he was. Fast forward to 2022, we now have access to the internet, google, Supersport, etc. But still, a lot of people don't know Lebron. M.J was just Great Great Great. Like the Greastest.
Well said! Outside of USA, MJ is truly a legend even today. Ordinary people became aware of NBA and the Chicago Bulls. And he hasn't played in about 2 decades. Even with easy access to news, not so many know who is LeBron... Michael Jordan is just different.
Plot twist: The MJ he was always hearing about was Michael Jackson
@@ilearncode7365 Both MJs are the GOATs 🐐
The main argument is that the game has evolved so much since 98.
Jordan in his Prime in THIS League? He averages 43-45 for the season, no question. There has never been someone so feared and respected at the same time to the point other players knew not to talk s**t to him because they didn’t want to end on Sportscenter the next day as the guy who let MJ get 50-60 on them.
Dominant, masterful awareness of the court, excellent defensive player, plus the guy could palm the ball. Plus that Fadeaway Jumper is still impossible to stop. MJ = The Greatest Player on the Planet.
Lebron is guaranteed his HOF spot. What’s he’s been able to do in the league since Kobe left is incredible but he never had that fear from those around him like MJ had.
The game has devolved
Indeed! He’s the best then and
Even now!
LB defines easy mode. Guy travels so much the refs live off his frequent flyer miles.
Btw Lebron calls himself the goat, all these players call MJ the goat. That’s a difference
MJ called himself the goat too. He told OJ mayo “you might be the best High school player in the country but I’m the greatest of all time”
The difference is that LeBron really is the 🐐. #1 All time playoff scoring, assists, blocks, steals and #4 in 3pointers... just facts
MJ isn't top 10 in anything, really... ANYTHING😆😆😆
@@lamount853 No, he said "I'm the best player in the world". Stop making stuff up so Lebrick doesn't seem as full of himself that he really is

For that matter, Bird has 3 MVPS and 2 Finals MVPs while playing against much better competition. Lebron didn't face the Lakers and Pistons. I wish Lebron would have faced the Bad Boy Pistons in their prime, they would have made a mockery of him at best and at worst send him to the intensive care unit.
Lebron started the superteam era so he could get any ring

Serial killer of basketball
People seem to forget the way Jordan beefed up in the off season that one year because the Pistons played bully ball against them, he came back like 15+ lbs and dominated. That was legendary how he did that and never looked back after. He faced more adversity than any of these other guys that shouldn't be in the conversation. It's MJ and then you can debate about everybody else after that.
Jordan is the best hands down. He evolved the game and built a brand...no comparison. He played in a more physical era. Those that disagree just didn't watch him play and are lying to themselves, didn't do their research. 6 and 0 in the finals with 6 MVPs and the most scoring titles, with ten. Jordan and Chamberlain are the only players to have won seven consecutive scoring titles.
Nall kobe is the goat
Not to mention MVP and Defensive player of the year in the same year.
Jordan didn't leave any doubts. In the playoffs & finals Jordan always had the solution he was never shut down or stagnated. Jordan shut the iron curtain at the buzzer & closed all the shows on the big stage. There's nothin more someone can do to be greater except win more without losing. Especially the losing in the finals is not up discussion in the goat conversation. Jordan set that standard 6 trips 6 ,6 wins. Not 8 & 4, or 7 & 5 , or even 10 & 4 with 3 different franchises isn't even in the conversation.
LeBron would run circles around Jordan and he comes from high-school Jordan got cut in high-school put some respect on LeBrons name

Ray Allen said MJ didn’t pass a lot, but he averaged over 5 assists a game for his whole career, and one season even averaged 8 assists a game. I would saying MJ’s passing ability has always been highly overlooked and underrated.
He could definitely pass the ball, like laser beam, no look passes. That means, he was good lol. Normal dudes don't pass like that.
Anyone remember when Doug Collins just decided to say "F*ck it" and made Jordan the POINT GUARD for the last 8 games of the Season (I believe it 1989-90), and he AVERAGED A TRIPLE DOUBLE for all 8 games?!?!?!

MJ is miles beyond those two
No one with half a brain will deny the fact that MJ is the greatest of all time. No one
Except some idiot content provider who's a Jordan hater. Calls himself Universe Galaxy and challenges people to come on his podcast and debate him. Just put his name in the YT site search. He's not hard to find...he makes sure of that. 😴
I have a whole brain and Wilt is the 🐐 by far. He retired 50 years ago and still have more records than everyone else combined. He set the rebounding record of 55 against Bill. He was the greatest athlete to play in the NBA as a world-class Track & Field and Volleyball athlete. He is the only Harlem Globetrotter to impact the NBA and he left the NBA to become is the world's greatest Volleyball player. BTW, he stopped scoring more than halfway through his career and is still one of only two players to average over 30ppg. He was still leading the League in rebounds when he left, never fouled out of a game, and averaged more than an entire game for minutes per game. GOAT!
If you are comparing only 2 players MJ and Lebron then MJ would be the GOAT but I have a big problem with him being called the GOAT if you count all the greats from all the eras. First you can not compare a shooting guard from the late 80s and 90s to a center from the 60s. Second depends on what metric you are using because I know MJ fans have their stats to show he is but there are stats that show he isn’t. If you try rings then Bill Russell with 11 rings in 13 years easily beats MJ with 6 rings in 15 years- in fact the fact he never missed the playoffs and made it to the finals 12 out of 13 years is also better than MJ- if you go with records then nobody is even close to Wilt. The fact MJ has awards that didn’t exist when Wilt and Russell played can’t be held against Wilt and Russell because you can not win awards that don’t exist. I know he was 6-0 in the finals but the fact that he was 0-6 against Larry Bird’s Celtics in the playoffs seems lost on MJ fans. Does that mean Bird was better? Winning in the playoffs and the finals is a team accomplishment but if Jordan gets all the credit for going 6-0 in the finals then he should get the blame for being 0-6 against Bird. All MJ being 6-0 in the finals says is that he wasn’t good enough to make it to the finals 9 years of his career.
@@jimmulcahey9312 It's much more than stats. The biggest impact Jordan had was the ability to inspire the world. Not just the youth in the US but across the world. Millions of kids in the 90s took on basketball because of MJ. No other player had that impact. That's what makes him the GOAT.
@@rodolphendessabeka8721 I agree he had a major impact on the growth of viewership and interest worldwide of the NBA. He basically picked up from where Magic and Bird left off. The league was dying with the weak era after Wilt retired and before Magic and Bird. Magic and Bird basically saved the NBA and MJ did expand from there. I believe that MJ may not of been able to do that if Magic and Bird didn’t save the league in the first place. I believe all three were responsible for the league getting where it did and Lebron is responsible for the downturn of the league.
Jordan filled stadiums that were NEVER sold out before him. Even opposing fans paid to see him, that is greatness.
I had the privilege of being a season ticket holder for all 6 of the Bulls Championships. I'm a bi MJ fan, but SP should have been NBA Finals MVP for 1st Championship.
Jordan didn't take plays off, let alone minutes, quarters or games. Offense, defense, rebounding, creating a team attitude. MJ played consistent high-level Defense (9x All Def First Team) (1x DPOY)... The same can't said about LeBron, it just can't.. Jordan was often viewed as the best Offensive an defensive player on the floor on several occasions. I've never heard LeBron spoken about in that way on a consistent basis, no disrespect. For me, if we talking GOAT conversation, u got to be handling business on BOTH sides of the ball at a ELITE clip for the majority of your career. Jordan did that..
Michael Jordan was some kind of alien god from a planet shaped like a basketball. Watching him play was like experiencing magik. He was always in the right place at the right time, had the body designed for it and just nonstop dominated. He was relentless. Stealing the ball from people before people even realized it was gone. Flying through the air like a plane from outside the paint. We will never see anything like it again. Everyone knew when the tongue came out the show was about to begin.
Jordan made everyone better, even the opposing teams. Now that greatness!
Very true
I am glad that Phil said what I always said about Kobe and how he played selfishly too much. MJ was DOMINANT defensively. LeBron and Kobe cannot say the same.
Wait wait wait...r u calling kobe selfish and not Michael?😆🤣
Do you even know what you are talking about ?
Jordan and Bryant both made 9 All defensive 1st teams
Lebron has only made 5..
Kobe had 12 NBA-All Defense selections
LeBron is the only one in the top 10 of all time that doesn't play defense the whole game. It doesn't matter who you have in the top 10 or where you put LeBron. He's the only one I see give minimal effort on defense. For that reason alone he's not even in my top 10. Basketball is about offense and defense. Not one or the other. Just like baseball, hockey and soccer they are required to play both in order to stay on the team. Even though it's a sport, the players job is to perform at all times on the court or field. Having a bad night is understandable be not making an effort for a long period of time is unacceptable. Just my opinion.
My Top 10 list
1. Jordan
2. Bird
3. Kobe
4. Magic
5. Isiah
6. Russell
7. Kareem
8. Shaq
9. Malone
10. Robinson
Honorable mentions because they gave everything they had despite height.
Spud Webb
Muggsy Bogues
Kobe leaves everything in the floor, makes points and plays DEFENSE
Absolutely a great video!
Listen, for all of this Bron can do more, he's actually had more opportunities to lap Jordan in rings and awards and hasn't. If he does more with less, why has he lost a finals IN RECORD FASHION?! He essentially builds his teams, his teammates take all the blame or his era 'is harder' Jordan never played a monster like Bron did- THAT'S CUZ HE WAS THE MONSTER.
Mike's reputation was monster-like. Like players dont want to talk trash at him because they dont want to wake up a monster. That they prefer a Mike playing like its another day in the office rather than Mike taking it personal and want to take their hearts out.

This debate been over for years. I feel like the media is pushing LeBron to keep the NBA ratings up. Can't blame them.
When LeBron retires they will push someone else to be next Jordan
And Lebron will be torn down bad by the media. Why? Because MJ has a winner's mentality off and on the court. Other than being an NBA Champion he's also a successful businessman whereas winning an NBA championship and the accolades that come with it is what Lebron loves and without that he will be all but forgotten if not irrelevant as the NBA media machine promotes the next big NBA star.
Only one goat...that s MJ.Any other goat will be curried with rice.
absolutely. no one wants to be the next Lebron. everyone wants to be the next Jordan.
Mr Nicholas Bee SIR....you said it BEST
They already trying to push jimmy butler. Have you not seen that yet lol 😂
How is this even a conversation like seriously no body touching mike only Kobe was the closet that’s it!! Rip Kobe salute Jordan the goat 🐐 and salute the king 🤴 no shade just truth
I don’t know how you can rule out someone that has 72 records and still holds over 60 records even 50 years after he retired.
Mj is a Goat💪💪💪💪👋👍🤩🤩🤩🤩
Absulutely no doubt it the real GOAT AIR JORDAN
2:23 MJ & Rodman both came down for a rebound and MJ let Rodman take possession, if you're great at what you do MJ has no problem deferring to you.
Marciano went undefeated, Tyson was the most feared boxer, foreman or Liston hit the hardest . But no boxer could achieve/do what Ali did ! MJ is like that.
Best argument I've heard here:
"When people talk about someone being the top player in their sport, they say, "He's the Michael Jordan of...""
That pretty much sums it up!
I really don't understand how they said Michael wasn't a passer he averaged 6 assists a game for his career. All I know is when the game was close he was the deciding factor.
Air Jordan is obviously the greatest of all time, the greatest there ever was ,the greatest there ever will be, his Airness MJ only Air Jordan
leadership skills are paramount in reading and motivating your team mates .. MJ
These players deep down know who the greatest is.
Michael always deferred to other players like john paxon, craig hodges, steve kerr, bill wennington, scottie pippen, and more, to hit game-winning shots. Jordan was an all-around player but dominated with his scoring and defense.
MJ was the GOAT off all NBA superstar!🏀✔️💯

Great video! Let these young Tide Pod eaters know!
The best response was Ray Allen. If you watch him answer that closely, he was trying so politely to answer without being disrespectful to Lebron at the same time. It's basically like his face, his eyes, and voice were saying...are we really even asking this question. Hes like , ummm duh , well thats MJ.
MJ is the greatest player I have personally seen play the game in my 43 years of on this planet. What I don't understand is why all the back and forth because really isn't even close at this point. At the biggest moments in the biggest games. even aliens knew the rock was coming to MJ. He welcomed it and showed up and showed out darn near every time once he found his stride!
My friend let me go further. I'm 73 and I've had the pleasure of seeing them all. We know Wilt was great along with Magic, Bird etc. I remember Pistol Pete and with a three point line he would have been even more fearsome.
I knew before he won a Championship how important he was to the NBA. I along with Wilt said that that the league should also pay Mike because of what he brought to the table.
I remember some race riots in Miami and a reporter ask some whites why they were outside. Their reply was Mike coming to town! I rest my case. Peace.

@@sal4856 I never got a chance to see Wilt do his thing. But I respect what you’re saying OG!

If you are 43 then you never saw Wilt or Russell or Oscar Robertson or any of the greats from earlier eras play. I agree that MJ was great but without seeing the greats before him you have no idea how truly great people like Wilt and Russell and Pistol Pete or Oscar Robertson actually were.
Lebron the only time he played defense barely when he was in Miami because the team and Pat Riley didn't play that! Lebron is not near GOAT status all he doing is chasing stats
Exactly. Lebron chases stats. And Jordan chasing winning. The stats were just a bonus for Jordan, he only wants to win

Lmao Jordan got carried by Scottie, bulls won 54 games without Jordan in 94-95, jordan retired because he knew the bulls couldn’t win any more, why didnt Jordan win a ring in the 80’s? Because there was actually competition the 90’s were watered down

Underrated comment sir, you absolutely get it.
I said the same thing when I heard him say that. That’s why he never won a championship and Paul pierce did. You have to understand your role and play your role. That’s why Jordan and his teammates won 6 championship and and Paul pierce go his and T-mac didn’t

Jordan 6-0AT
When the logo calls you the GOAT,
you're the GOAT.
Micheal Jordan is the Micheal Jordan of all Micheal Jordans
Most people overlook how quick Jordan's first step was, he was Allen Iverson quick at 6"6", and he was the most fundamentally sound player to ever play the game at that point and probably still is. Everything he did was textbook from his footwork, to his fadeaway, to his drives to the hoop.
When MJ retired he gave us a gift Koby MJ is the Goat no question.
MJ All Day!
Jordan's skills, make him Bruce Lee ! "Enter the dragon" Kobe and Lebron, are Jackie Chan.
what i hear is that it is difficult for players to fully articulate why Jordan is so great but for those old enough to have watched him and the current generation it really comes down primarily to mentality and his will. everything was built off of that. he even said it himself, everyone thinks it's his physicals gifts, his large hands, etc. but there are more athletic people who can jump higher, run faster, that aren't even in the NBA. just look at the dunk academy and what ridiculous things those guys are doing. they can't play in the nba let alone succeed in the way jordan did. his drive, his will, his competitiveness and the hard work and thousands of hours he put in, led to what he accomplished. that is why all players are in awe of jordan to this day.
Michael Jordan is the GOAT 🐐.
In 2019, a players poll went 73 percent for Jordan and 12 percent for Lebron. In 2023, it went 59% for Jordan to 33% for Lebron. Lebron could be called the biggest loser. Has a losing record of 22-33 in finals games and lost 6 of 10 finals. In 11 healthy seasons in Cleveland, Lebron won only 1 championship. In 11 healthy seasons in Chicago, Jordan won 6. He still trails Jordan by a monumental difference to make up: 2 championships. 2 Finals MVPs, 1 DFPY, 1 MVP, 4X all defense, 9X PPG and 3X steals. In the Jxmy Highroller piece "Asking Over 100 NBA Players Who the GOAT is, 80 picked Jordan and 30 picked Lebron. In the video "23 teammates of Lebron and Jordan pick the GOAT", 18 of 23 picked Jordan. Most stars don’t put Lebron in their team of 5 to win a championship. So how can he be in the same tier as Jordan? In Johnny Arnett's video of the greatest players of all time by their peak, Lebron comes in at seventh. Jordan never choked, was a much better defender (perhaps best in the league), a better free point thrower, actually had a mid-range shot, and played in a more difficult era. Jordan had the greatest vertical leap of all time and the biggest hands of any top 5 player. Lebron is almost never clutch as well, going 0-7 in the last 10 seconds of finals games while Jordan is 4 of 8. Jordan also blows him away in the final 24 seconds. LeBron isn’t even better than Kobe. Lebron was swept by Spurs team 07. Kobe beat them in ‘08 4-1. Lebron lost to Magic in ‘09 ECF 4-2. Kobe beat them 4-1. Lebron lost to the Celtics in ‘10 ECSF 4-2. Kobe beat the same team in 2010 4-3. Above all else, Lebron doesn’t pass the eye test. Only Jordan, Kobe, and Dr. J do this in magical form. Who cares about statistics if no one wants to watch you play? I wouldn’t pay to watch Lebron or Kareem play unless I want to eat and sleep in the arena.
Paul pierce said he would love to play with MJ and wouldn't care how many touches he got because MJ the boss lmao 🙌🙌
The greatest ball players get it done when the other team's defense triple teams him and can't stop him. It's even clearer of the player's greatness when the team keying in on him has the greatest defense in the league and can't stop him. This happen to Jordan when he went up against Bird,DJ,Mchale, and Parish who all converged on Jordan and couldn't stop him.I don't think any other player could have thrived under that kind of defensive pressure and I haven't seen any other player have to.
Do you honestly believe that Wilt wasn’t double and triple teamed the majority of his career? About the only person that would play him straight up was Bill Russell.
@@jimmulcahey9312 Wilt going up against other defenses was like Godzilla going against Bambi ! Russell was the only one who made wilt sweat a little.
Jordan is a machine he don't break done he is always on !!!!
Shout out to Mitch!! Good Scorer in his days!
See there's no Debating MJ being the GOAT because that's simply debating against reality.
MJ is the best offensive player and arguably the best defensive player. That is the difference.
I’d still take a prime MJ with one arm over LeDiva James.
If you had to choose one player in a final shot that determines rather you go to heaven or hell with less then 10 seconds on the clock. I will pick MJ any day of the week and twice on Sunday
LeBron at 6'8", 265 lbs. would've put one arm on skinny 6'6" 185 lb. MJ and posterized him..

@@luminousrxk7288 where are those scrubs today while LeBron is on his way to No. 1 scorer of all-time and every other record for that matter..🤔
But lediva James can get you Davis, wade, Bosh, Irving, love and great role players.
MJ23 best ever. No way. Respect his air ness and his legacy. He's the alpha and the omega
You have to take into account that MJ retired for 3 years in his prime plus he spent 2 years at UNC that LBJ didn't in those 5 years he would have easily scored another 10,000 points and probably closer to 13,000. MJ & Kobe would completely take the other teams best player out of the game when defending them if they wanted to. So, I'd have to go with MJ all day. But, that's only because nobody talks about the man who holds the most records, Wilt. He could dominate a game at a whole other level. Kind of strange he doesn't get mentioned. Nobody ever scored 100 pts in a game, avg. 50 a game along with 25 rebounds and then just prove how great he was he then led the league in assists once or twice.
Wilt played when there was hardly no teams in the league. He literally played in the weakest era.
@@ericduncan7266 Weakest era? Not really, some of the all-time greatest centers in NBA history were playing at that time, not so many since 2000 or a little before. And because there weren't as many teams that meant those great centers were playing each other many more times a year than now. Now is only 4 times a year if in the same conference and only twice if not.
I HATE TO INFORM YOU OF THIS. BUT M.J. ACTUALLY HAD 3 YEARS AT U.N.C. UNDER DEAN SMITH!!!! HE HIT THE GAME WINNING SHOT FROM THE WING, AT THE END OF THE GAME AGAINST GEORGETOWN. HE & PATRICK EWING, WERE TRUE FRESHMEN THEN! JORDAN WAS ALREADY HOT SHIT!!!!
@@ericduncan7266 the weakest era was pre Wilt followed by after Wilt retired to when Magic and Bird came into the league. This era now where carrying over and traveling aren’t called and if you look cross eyed at or breathe on a player it is a foul is just a joke. It looks like first and ten when Lebron goes down the lane. They used to be able to forearm check and then changed to illegal to use forearm to impede offensive player progress for Jordan to outright abolishing the hand check with today’s era.
@@michaelgreen2631 scary thing is that team at UNC MJ wasn’t the best player. That would have been James Worthy. No question MJ surpassed Worthy in the NBA though

Jordan showed up in the playoffs with the flu and still scored 45. He also went to play baseball in the prime of his basketball career, easily could've gotten another ring, came back to the NBA and won another ring in 96. Jordan had phenomenal defensive (players now don't play D) and would give LeBron big problems. Jordan is the goat and it's not even debatable.
Bron has had more opportunities to lap Jordan in rings and awards but hasn't. If he does more with less, why has he lost in the finals IN RECORD FASHION?!
