Are you under the impression that companies normally absorb part of increased prices? When taxes and material cost or labor cost are increased then the cost to the consumer for that item or product is also increased.
One of the main reasons some small businesses fail in their first three years is because they try to absorb parts of cost and things so that product prices don't have to increase and it ends up costing the company all his profits and then company fails.
It's not a greedy or a selfish attitude at all to increase the selling price when the cost of the item goes up, it's just the core basic minimal part of business.
If your product sells for a dollar including $0.10 tax and that taxes raised to $0.12 then the company is not going to make profit its if it still keeps trying to sell the product for a dollar. That can work with something like Arizona flavored water product because they're selling something that cost them $0.04 to make and they're selling for a dollar so the tax where the cost is raised 300% there's still plenty of room for plenty of profit. If your business model is not something that only cost you only pennies to make that you're selling for a high price then this not going to still be profitable like a flavored liquid would be because the product cost so little to make and its charge such a high price and comparison on the retail Market.
Not raising the cost of the retail product when the taxes go up doesn't really work find something that is expensive to make and has a small markup, it only works on something where the product is already a basic huge giant price gouge like all sodas.

Wish we could do away with the go to work sick attitude or the fact people have to because of the way employment and pay are about sick days, and now they don't want people commuting as much either even though it works for many and didn't hurt anything.

You wanna know what the crazy thing about this is when this first started it was because Donald Trump got on Fox News and said critical race theory was destroying this country and it was a left indoctrination and Republicans took that and ran with it and the funny thing is is that critical race theory is not taught in schools. For example I first touched briefly on the subject when I was getting my degree in cultural anthropology. Most people don’t have a clue what anthropology is what is the discipline nothing because it is such a rare subject that is taught in a few universities. To be clearly honest this is the first time I’ve ever ever heard of critical race theory as well as reading a book called the black bourgeoisie by Frank E Frazier. It is astounding to me how Republicans feel children are being taught this at school when the curriculum has absolutely zero to do with critical race theory. They should just come out and say we don’t want children to learn about any black authors black history or anything that has to do with black history we are literally waging war on it I think that would be less hypocritical for them to say because half of the people have no clue what CRT is none. Like I said this is a college level subject which is not taught universally in college only in certain professions and it is broad.

I almost died before I would have ever had a chance to get real treatment. People don’t always know wether they are healthy or not and they can think they will be fine if they get Covid until they actually get it. I took all the precautions I could but my ex got it from work, he gave it to our son, and gave it to me when he dropped off our child for my coparenting time. And he didn’t even tell me he was sick or that our child was exposed. Instead, I got a call from my ex’s mother after she tested positive. My ex lives with his mother. That knucklehead gave it to his parents, grandparents, our son, and me. As a result my husband got it, his parents got it, his siblings and their kids got it as well. My husband lost two aunts to Covid and I almost died. It could have been so much worse.
