furthermore Manu Ginobili and Bill Bradley are the only two players to have won Euroleague, NBA, and Olympic gold, truly a unique club
covered this topic in this video here czcams.com/video/m_ItCwk6sLU/video.html
The senator
Bob Mcadoo surely would've been on the U.S. team and won a Gold medal IF the United States used professionals in the Olympics back then...
Great video. The fact that Manu didn't play in the NBA until he was 25 and still had so long of a career with the Spurs is wild, but it looks like he only played 16 seasons with the Spurs though (until he was 40).
Won gold for Argentina too. Not bad for a player haters call a “System player” lucky for him he’s been in a lot of good systems ;)
@@92akucaballero97mfers don’t understand if he had his own team he would’ve had like 26 a game in the slow 2000’s
@@harry9828 more than that. Per 36 he averaged 22 as the 2.5 option. Dude would have put up 30 a night if he wanted to. He knew Timmy had that shit tho
I feel like Kukoc could’ve been like a Luka type player back then if he was given a chance to be #1 option.
He had ball handling, passing, shooting, clutch gene and size.
He’s tough as nails too. He’s extremely underrated.
Back then NBA basketball was more physcial and under the rim. 3 pts attempts were rare and Kukoc although, good enough coldnt have been the number 1 option against fast perimeter defenders like Pippen Starks Stockton or MJ, when ball handling comes into question or physical types like Malone Barkley Shaq or Oakley under the rim.
He was an excellent permiter shooter and he was known for this but that made him 1 dimensional player in that era where driving to the basket or post up play was the bread and butter to every 1st offensive option.
Kukoc would have easily be an All Star in today's era doe.
Kukoc was no famous for his ball handling or killer crossovers to begin with. He was excellent at finding unguarded players for assists but when it comes to willing your way against tought and crowded spaces under the rim- unfortunately he was never stellar at that and he shied away from those situations.
He was incredible talent but sadly they screwed his game when made him bulk up in Chicago.
He’s ahead of his time and NBA is not ready or the league itself is not prepared for any changes yet.
I was lucky enough to see Manu playing in Italy as a kid, what a memories
You missed Ognjen Kuzmic, he won NBA with Golden State in 2015 and won Euroleague with Real Madrid in 2018, I think he's the only player who has won NBA, Euroleague and G-League
Fun throw away fact: Otto Graham won the NFL title and the NBA title in the same year.
Lol that's crazy great fact bro. I Just googled it. He won the NBA title with Rochester royals
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Don't forget about Christian Braun.....in 4 years he won a state high school championship, a national college championship with Kansas, and an NBA title as a rookie with the Nuggets....
😂
Manu is one of my favorite player.
Ognjen Kuzmic also won NBA and Euroleague.
Toni Kukoc, like Ginobili, sacrificed part of his qualities by playing as a sixth man in one of the strongest teams ever, furthermore before the three-peat with the Bulls he had his three-peat as a franchise player with Split in the Euroleague, and was about to winning a fourth time with Treviso, a well-deserved Hall of Fame for him
3:11 that was a historic moment for basketball. It was world breaking news. It was the headline everywhere. It was the first time that a USA team with NBA players lost a game. Argentina was applauded by every other team in the hotel when they arrived. And all this occured in Indiana.
I’m from the 7th ward in New Orleans, and we loved Kukoc during that bull’s run because he wore our number. Me and my potnas all wore his jersey one Christmas too haha. Dude will forever be a personal GOAT of mine.
Manu is number 1 in history in +- statistic, above Jordan, Lebron, Wilt Chamberlain and EVERYBODY. That's how good he was.
Manu was one of the best closers I’ve ever seen
The shot that Toni Kukoc made against the Knicks he was still in his rookie year not in year two
Dope video I mess with the content pivot. I can tell you put hella effort into this.
Appreciate that
nice video
im sooo happy your back make a vid of what happened
I love this channel. As an American with Lithuanian heritage I've always wanted to learn more about the European basketball history because it isn't really talked about over here. Thank you!
Kukoc was the silent deadly assasin. Thank God this guy ended being an athlete. I think if this guy was a gun for hire - he would have been unstoppable. Ive never seen somoene so cold and measured and caluclating like him. Some people have that off switch and he has it.
He was a true professional and did his job very well. No Ego problems no readjustments no nothing. Dude, came into the NBA for day one never tried to steal anyone's spotlight or even try to "be the man", the "hero". He could have done that easily because Jerry Krause was not the only one aware of his talents in the NBA.
What can I say: That whole Chicago Bulls team was made out of people who complimented the GOAT perfectly.
So glad you changed the first thumbnail haha
This reminds me of the fact that nobody has all 5 major basketball championships: NBA, Euroleague, Olympic, World Cup, and NCAA. The closest is Anthony Davis with 4/5 (missing Euroleague obviously).
NCAA + Olympic + Euroleague would be the hardest trio to get since you’d have to play for a U.S. college (a lot of Europeans don’t), be good enough to make an Olympic team (either be an American All-Star or be crazy good like Manu and beat Team USA), and then play in Europe when you’re washed like Kemba Walker but still be on a good enough team you can win.
(Also this is only true for men’s basketball, Sue Bird and Taurasi both have all 5)
I think the hardest is an NBA Championship, because you have to play against the best collection of basketball players in the entire world for an almost 100 games for less than 10 months. And here comes the playoffs, where NBA Superstars are giving their ultimate best, alongside with top role players all over the world. There, you have to win a series, YESSSS, A SERIES, 4 out 7 of that series. It is in NBA Finals where legends of the basketball were born, not in any championship game of basketball. NBA Finals is the pinnacle of basketball competition, it is like the UEFA Champions League game, where the best clubs with the best players collide. Olympics is not a thing for USA, we all know that they don't give a damn thing about that, because if they do, they would have prepared for a year before that thing happen, and have a consistent composition of team for every international competition. As for the Euroleague championship, are you even joking for making a statement that it is harder than NBA?
@@jeremiahdanielsamuel2505 Of course the NBA Championship is the hardest one individually, I was talking about obtaining them as a trio. You only get 4 years to win an NCAA title (usually just one), getting on either Team USA for the Olympics or beating Team USA at the Olympics is brutal, and then this all-world player is unlikely to go over to Europe when he’s old because he’ll likely just retire and go to the HOF.
Also, you can get an NBA Championship as a bench warmer, see Taylon Horton-Tucker. If this were Finals MVP instead of an NBA Championship then yes that’s the most difficult one to get by a long shot.
Was just going to say, a true committed player would try and get the WNBA title as well.
Tony Kukoc reincarnated into Luka 😅
13:47 curious how this matchup went
another 🔥 video DKM!
More to come!
2001 Euroleague Champ
2003 NBA Champ
2004 Olympic Gold Medalist
Gah Dayum!
Luka will be on the list soon
Defijiyely
Great video! One fact is that Zan Tabak was the first European to win the NBA championship.
"Bro, I checked in for Kobe for 34 seconds in game 7. Think, that breather he got was prolly the difference."
maybe for others he is underrated but for me MANU is my HERO Gracias MANU thank you very much
on god i saved this video to my watch later like an hour ago. when i did jokic was in front of the thumbnail. now when i'm going to watch it has giannis in front!?!!
So we could have a new addition to the list with Luka if he can win it all this year, plus he’d be the first to win finals MVP if he picks that up too 🤔
Manu my all time fav player
This is why Ginoboili is the GOAT second round pick as of now. Jokic is near but he needs to beat team USA like Ginoboli did.
He past manu when get got his first mvp.
Manu is hall of fame player
i agree
7:46 They are 2 Continents (the USA is in America) Plays the Americup and the NBA is in the American continent too.
Larkin is 2 time euroleague winner and rubio won once, but both no nba titles
GREAT VIDEO DKM IS ENGLISH AND YOUNG AND HE MADE A BANG ON VIDEO ABOUT THOSE PLAYERS IM GREEK PLAYING BBALL SINCE I WAS 9 AND GREW UP WATCHING GALIS KUKOC MACADOO......ALL THREE ARE HALL OF FAMERS BTW
glad to deliver
You forgot to put Nemanja Bjelica He won Euro league with Fenerbahce and ring with Golden state.
he was mvp but never won the championship
If only Luis Escola played with the Spurs.
And now, Kostas Antetokounmpo.
yk i never realised manu was actually good - i just knew he won the plympics against usa that one time before i was born
Luka coming at the season. Book it
Kukoc was Ginobili but taller.
Bro you forgot Ognjen Kuzmić he won the nba championship in 2015 with the warriors and won the Euroleague in 2018 with Real Madrid
Nesterovič my man😎
Nemanja Bjelica :)
I guessed it as a spurs fan
the chicago bulls are doing a ring of honor in january 12 in chicago at halftime . its on a friday i think you should go dkm
I need a visa!
now do someone who won olympics, nba championship and eurochampionship? i know only yof manu.
There’s another in this video
NBA Championship: Did nothing, was not good enough
Euroleague: Star player.
Of course he's gonna like the latter more lol
Elijah Bryant?
Do one about the Olympics 🤣
at the time
MANU GOAT!
I bet it would depend on if you're driving the bus or riding the bus.
that’ll play apart
James Michael McAdoo lol
remember him!
Even with luka and joker nobody gives even half a shit about some euro league, many career is deep enough to were I doubt even he cares
And now kostas antetokoumbo
ginobili played 16 years with spurs not 18
Me seeing thumbnail : Shams won the Euroleague???
shams lmao
Idk how much you betted but I want my money 😠😠
Ognjen Kizmić?
And gold in the Olympics
How any of the Gasols aren't in this video?
Never won euroleague
nemanja bjelica
Didn't choke in the 02 final,we were robbed.
Luka will be next in 2025
Try to avoid saying 1983 1984 and 1985. You sound very funny. Say 83 84 85
Soon luka
the greatest European NBA players never won the Euroleague because they went to the NBA very early.
Manu should have mvp.tho
nemanja bjelica ?
Reaves will be 6th man of the year at some point, I'm calling it, they look so similar with Manu
luka too soon!
It’s cause the US didn’t have Kobe… due to legal troubles 😅
The moment he got the info incorrect about joining the nba in 1988 instead of 1998
Two major errors on Ginobili.
He only played 16 years in the NBA
He was athletic as heck, so why wouldn’t he e able to win a Slam Dunk contest.
I mistakingly counted his pro years overseas as NBA, as for the dunk contest joke I’m not saying he wasn’t athletic but he wasn’t 360 between the legs athletic
@@DKM_Sports - I think your Math is wrong.
Manu started playing professionally in 1995.
He moved to Europe for the 1998-99 season.
He was drafted into the NBA in 99.
Joined the Spurs in 2002-03
His NBA career was 16 years
He was drafted three full seasons before that
Played in Europe one season before that
And had three seasons prior to that in Argentina.
While he may not have been 360 between the legs he was 360, and we are talking Europe where Athleticism has never been a key component of the game.
I'm willing to give basketball a try it wont hurt ig but where do I start tho.
Watch both nba and euroleague
Don’t watch basketball
@@juanantoniogomezdelpulgarg2273 Just watch Euroleague at this point, the game is played with the entire team and generally is much more fun to watch. The players play to win and every game is important. In the NBA, referees ruin games, half the season nobody tries to win and games last longer with no defense or team play. The talent is greater in the NBA, sure, and so is the money, but the game is much more entertaining in Europe.
Hope you enjoy ot
nba players that fail get picked up by euro league teams, most euro league players try to make it to the nba so that says alot
not entirely true that
@@DKM_Sports It is true buddy, have you ever seen a prime all-star NBA player to play in Euroleague? You're definitely hating the NBA buddy and trying to exalt Euroleague as if it is better and harder to win than NBA? Now, name someone at their prime that went to euroleague? 100% of the guys who went to Euroleague from NBA are non-rotational player, injured for a long time ago, too old to be in the NBA, out of rotation, non-all star, non-MVP, non-defensive player and washed.
is not the same shoot like LA player, nothing with it
White Man saying that Euroleague is better? What a shocker!
luka soon
Before 2025?
@@DKM_Sports easy yes also can i go on a video
Toni Kukoc?
hes here
@@DKM_Sports yea watch the full vid I did guess before I watch it.Didn't expect Ginobli there and He really is very successful
Shame manu joined spurs. He was better than tmac. Wasted as a 6th man.
Lol dude thinks we think theres a difference between the Spanish league and euro league, lol I don't nba scouts watch that bs
Chatting
Manu is overrated by Euros.
Team awards carry him.
NBA championship is the only achievement that matters. That's why they're world champions, because it's the best talent in the world. Everything else is basically recreational play in comparison
tell that to europeans
No
we saw that in 2002 with the dream team loosing vs argentina :)
