The next-generation Formula One cars for 2026 is nearing completion of its rules, and it will have a new overtaking help from the engine and active aero. But these huge changes also bring some problems for the teams, and unfortunately for the FIA they’ve has a new scare in recent weeks.

I think F1 Is getting a tiny bit boring with all this electric rubbish it's not formula 1 anymore it's more like formula hybrid. For God's sake please bring back the old days.😢😢

A few years ago, I used to be sat on the edge of my seat, which is no longer unfortunately.. I have to agree. It is kind of boring now

I think their intentions are genuinely focused on competitive and exciting racing. Will the new regulations achieve this? We will just have to wait and see. I like Red Bull and Max but I’d like to see him challenged and beaten without a mechanical failure. If you can get the top four teams actually battling it out from race to race with different drivers on the podium each week then you’ve got an exciting marketable product that will draw massive followers.
    I can’t wait.

I don't want the cars being "active" at all. Take the race out of the boardroom and let the drivers decide it on the track. You have a cost cap, now let the best teams/drivers get with it.

I think that since Liberty took over, the racing has become more and more scripted to provide publicity and drama on and off the track. Why not reduce the regs to only providing safety rules and put a cost cap on tech, but otherwise let the teams and drivers develop the cars.

Why not let the designers run with it and keep within their cost cap, that would be an interesting season

You mean like the good old days when F1 when was the pinnacle of car innovation and design with different teams bringing completely new ideas, design elements upgrades and new levels of innovation to racing cars and making them go fast while drivers had to have the skill to be able to drive the best of the best and new innovative designs the engineers could come up with and showcase?
Kinda like the whole Inception and reason F1 came to be?

All this filibustering, yet in 2022 18 cars porpoise all year around all tracks while 2 sailed through with the greatest of ease....

I am very concerned about the push for Active Aero, I think it would be very damaging for the racing spectacle of F1.
What F1 needs are higher drag cars to aid slipstreaming down the straights, and lower downforce cars to help racing through corners. Well Active Aero goes in the opposite direction.
F1 ought to reduce the size of the cars, including the width of the front wing to the inside of the front wheels (like pre 2009) which will mean there is maxing drag on the front tyres.
I would also like to see active suspension back which will tip the balance away from aero back to mechanical grip through corners.

Active suspension and active aero would be the best changes i reckon

If the fia wants this about the drivers, quit making the cars so complicated and the size of a boat.

    Nah not active areo.
Active suspension (Just limt the CPU power) 🎉
That is relative to road cars soft suspension aids lowering fuel/energy used

Teams are coming together reading some of the 2026 rules no idea what ones they are refusing but if all teams come together then FIA will have to do what they want no teams no fia no f1 interesting and theirs gonna be a huge storm over this

Far to many rules that spoil the sport, it's no longer the drivers skill mostly but stupid SILLY rules takes games away from the sport. I can barely watch the highlights.
