- So was driving fine..... WAS. Started as the airbag light stayed on, then everything in cluster going out to nothing in the cab working. all in a day. Sound deadening under mat was soaked like a sponge. airbag module under driver seat looked like it was under water for 20 years. Pulled interior and discovered while pouring water over cab the rear glass was leaking around the sides and the vents in the back of the cab leaked inside at an alarming rate. Had rear glass resealed, sealed the vents in back of cab, added sound deadening, also replaced all speakers inside. Oh, and also had the headliner redone while the interior was out. Man what a chore but hey, check the rear of the cab and see if yours is leaking before it goes unnoticed.

F! Why couldn’t I find this video 3 years ago! My truck did the same exact thing! I went through everything and I mean everything your video had all the solutions in one stop. Hopefully more people will comment and make this video more accessible to others. ❤
Also, check the third brake light above the rear window. 👍🏼
I’m having that problem with my 06 extended cab, and it feels real wet in that corner where you said the vent and back glass was was leaking. I noticed that it goes along the door sill all the way to the driver door.
yes it will. I popped vents out and sealed around. they rely on a foam type seal and plastic tabs to keep tension. The rear glass shocked me. Been fine ever since
Have a Leak coming in right at front speakers, both sides.
Coming thru top of the pillar on the inside of it ending up coming out by parking break release.
The water is coming out on outside of door panel at speaker.
Good info!
I wonder if the rear glass sealing urethane looked factory? That is crazy as I have never heard one leaking. Oh what tangled web we weave when new products that should last a lifetime device!
nothing was ever done to the rear glass since i bought it new in march 2007. Things happen ha
@@gunterding_performance9558 I would guess either at the beginning or the end, a robot had an air bubble in the line. These are sprayed with thick soap & water while an air blower is pointed around it. If bubble form, use tire chalk or wipe & masking tape. The urethane comes in different grades but requires a primer liquid applied from a sealed bottle. It acts as a catalyst or hardener. This product can be purchased but a professional to cut leaving urethane on the truck / cab side with metal showing. Just for those reading this because I will not try it.
There are current design cues going on I don't understand as the rain gutter is moved into the roof joint to reduce wind noise & resistance, yet the raise the trucks up 2 feet off the ground! What? I am 6' 3" tall and it's a step for me. DK, ASE Master Tech since 1978.
@@gunterding_performance9558 If you have ever tried removing the window, you would understand how tough urethane adhesive is. Example; The from of a windshield glass, it holds the occupant's stay inside because their a laminated safety glass, but more important, it works with the air bag. Once deployed, the windshield re-directs the SIR air bag back into the cabin or passengers upper body. This supplements the seat belts and seat cushion sensor has a 42 lbs cutoff for deploy or not! Windshields do not taste very good!
@@deankay4434 been thru my fair share of replacing them. Cutting out is the fun part.......
100% same thing just happened to me, and it is a lot of $$$ to pay someone to fix. i know, i couldn't figure it out
