While Cameron is a good director, everyone is forgetting that he is the sequel MASTER… this has the potential to be one of the best sequels ever put to screen.
A good director is a serious understatement. He's easily the best action film director of all time. And yes, his sequels kick ass. This movie will be phenomenal.
James Cameron stated that he delayed the Avatar sequels for a few years due to the fact that he and his team were developing some new technologies for the visual effects to capture his vision. Just by this trailer alone, I say their effort in making something new seems absolutely worth it. It's good that the filmmakers take their time properly to make the movie that they wanted. The fact that they developed technology to film mocap underwater is in and of itself absolutely incredible. Say what you will about Avatar’s story, but there is genuine passion that you can feel went into it. Also, the fact that this film largely takes place in an ocean environment, and knowing how deep of a connection Cameron has to our oceans, makes me incredibly excited as well.

I don't care how much the tickets cost + the concessions. I watched this in highschool and now I'm definitely watching this with my family in the best possible way.
I remember reading that James developed his own IMAX camera for the first Avatar. This is truly going to be an experience that the only way to watch it would be on an IMAX screen.
That he did. There's even a few videos of him in the DVD special features using that camera and it's wild as hell. Probably paved the way for augmented reality bc that's pretty much what it was. While his eyes were looking at the actors in the motion cap suits surrounded by green screen and prop objects. The camera lense would show him an entirely computer generated environment whenever he would look through it.
So this justifies his deep sea journey for sure. Dude understands water physics on screen better than anyone and the sea creatures we rarely see. Can't wait for his insane designs!

I saw this trailer in 3D, with the IMAX expanded aspect ratio, and I say this as someone who is not really the biggest Avatar fan, it was just about the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. James Cameron is a visionary.
A lot of the scenes look so photorealistic! 😮 I can tell this movie is not only going to be action packed out beautiful! It can’t wait to see it in IMAX 💙
The 4 min scene that was released at the end of the credits for Avatar's re-release left me speechless. I got the goosebumps. I felt like I was in a meditative state the beauty and tranquility of the scene was something I have never felt before. Words cannot even describe....and that was just 4 min. Truly hypnotic scene and so calming.

Exactly. The people who make the sci - fi movies are the same people as the ones who make the UFO - ET stuff. This is why so many UFO craft people keep reporting look so photo - realistic. I am not accusing anybody involved in making Avatar 2 of being part of this in any way, but imagine how easy it would be for someone with access to all this money and technology to stage a UFO sighting, like the famous mexican UFO fleets. Remember those? They looked photo - realistic back then but look at how far mankind has come in recognizing how easy it is to stage a hoax using this tech.
As a big fan of the first movie, I hoped it's sequel will be out a few years after but after 15 years I'm glad we all waited for this masterpiece of an experience to be shown on the big screen and I've got tickets for Friday evening with my mum in 3D (as it should be seen) it shall be emotional, thrilling. shocking and I can't freaking wait for it it'll be one for the ages. I was 5 when avatar came out 13 years ago I’m so happy for this sequel this trailer is everything to us this beautiful story that change movies forever. I’m so happy for Jake and Neytiri continuing their adventures with their new family hopefully we get to see earth and old characters for the first movie.
Maybe the next one will be majority underground, or probably there'll be one with the na'avi clans going to war against each other because of humans. Honestly, I can see a twist happening in the fifth where maybe its a space battle--or the na'avi go to earth.

James Cameron is the definition of being a visionary, the man has never cared for popular opinion, and has always believed in his own conviction and values!
Being a scuba instructor I can relate to Cameron's passion for the ocean and nature he is a genius and a visionary. Recommendation for people is to get these movies on VR headset of choice as well after release its like 3D cinema experience but better!
Highly recommend folk experience it in 4DX. It takes the experience to a new level. So incredibly immersive! I watched the re-release of the first Avatar in September at Regal and it was 🤯
One thing I loved about the first movie is you could tell Cameron cared about the story he was telling. It wasn't just a scifi action movie and so far this one seems to be continuing that.
