  • Nexus letters are technical reports, also referred to as independent medical opinions, that establish a link between an injury or illness and a veteran's service. Such letters, usually drafted by medical professionals like doctors, nurse practitioners, or PAs, detail how one condition relates to another or to the veteran's service. The letters can range from a few sentences to lengthy reports, with the emphasis on presenting a rational connection. Leah differentiates between primary and secondary service connections, detailing examples for each. Primary connections have a direct relationship to one's service, while secondary connections relate a condition to another service-connected condition. She also highlights presumptive service connections that are assumed by the VA based on specific criteria. Leah emphasizes that while Nexus letters determine service-related connections, Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) help ascertain the rating.

Leah completed a Nexus Letter for me connecting my service connected injuries Ankles and Knee to multiple back issues that I am currently suffering from. I completed my C&P exam thru the Hampton VA hospital. The Nexus Letter was so thorough that when I viewed the Note of my C&P eval, via thr blue button report, it appears that the VA C&P examiner was in agreement and used Leah's evidence (Research & Medical Articles) to agree that my back issues are "at least likely than not" secondary conditions and supported my claim.
Great job Leah. I definitely am very pleased using your services.

I knew nothing about the VA claims process until about 21 months ago. I went from 0 to 100% TDIU utilizing five service connected disabilities. Mostly secondary’s. Knowing that the VA is a bureaucratic maze that no one can figure out on their own, I decided to watch every CZcams video I could get my hands on, primarily Prestige. For me the process was not very difficult just incredibly time consuming. The Nexus Letter was the most difficult hurdle only because my personal physicians were not very good at writing them. Find a source that has experience in writing Medical Opinion Letters. It will really save you time and effort.

Hi Mrs. Leah. I had a rheumatoid arthritis doctor tell me that my history of frequent reoccurrences of strep throat was the cause of arthritis in my body. He based this on blood test that he says he believe is bacteria. I may not be wording this correctly. But have you ever heard of that before? If so, do you mind doing a presentation video on this issue? My military record shows very frequent reoccurrences of strep and it also shows how does of penicillium increased also through out my military career. @ThemistoclesAD so I would not really listen to what people on Reddit are saying even if they are VBA employees. If they are doing something like that it would not align with VA policy and would likely open them up to lawsuits.

Good evening I had the same issue I was just awarded 100 percent Permanent and Total Disability from VA as of 8 Sept 2023. The VA sent me a decision back on 24 Aug 2023. It mentioned PTSD was deferred due to exam clarification is needed. So by the end of first week of Sept 2023 thats when I was given a 50 percent rating for PTSD basically what will happen is on your decision letter look for exam clarification and give it about a week or two you should see update just check your benefits and see of your rating changed.
