Yessss I've been looking for the shot of the closed Tlaloc mask in the movie! All I could find before was the profile picture Lionsgate Horror had and the water vessel this particular depiction of Tlaloc derives from. I don't know what it is, but there's just something about Tlaloc's inclusion in the trap design that I find stupidly fascinating. They could've so easily gone with someone that was more on the nose, like Mictlantecuhtli, the Aztec god of death. Tlaloc is such an interesting choice. And there's something about his face that is particularly ominous, too - his hollow goggle eyes, his gaping corn-cob shaped mouth. I just think he's neat. I don't know what else to say lmao
This is like a precursor to the Death Mask from Saw II. John Kramer, being an engineer, probably found this design too difficult to produce again so simplified it to the Death Mask design.

@@g2_655 i thought the blue lighting against his neck was electrical shocks, since i believe he did get zapped a little earlier one by the mask mask when he refused to play the tape (if i remember correctly?) it was probably electrocuting him and burning him while the mask was against his face as well

Started out a little slow, but it was nice to have John Kramer return in a film & made you empathize with him a bit more.
