In this video we make a start on the Garden Find Mercedes Benz 190E .
1st job, lets see if it will start.
We have called this the "Mouldy Merc" as it has a lovely patina affect of mould on it.

Check the relay for the fuel pump behind the battery next to the relay you took out .and jump the relay to give it direct feed .you tube has a vid on it .

I would be very happy if you could film the service you are going to do on this car. I have the 1.8 liter engine and I have this benz sitting for about 10 years... When i finaly make it run i would want to do a service on my own on the car. I hope u do so👍
Yes we sure will. We got the car up and running now so will have a Video on that. And next we will do a service. Thanks Dale and Michael
That's the "overload" relay, you can start the engine without it. You just need to turn the starter on longer, about 30 seconds or more.

Ignition 1 click first, hear fuel pump initialise and then all the way around to start, a new bonnet pad from merc £17 tidies it up big time. Fuel pump relay??

@@spottedmotors Apparently it’s something specific to Bosch K Jetronic, anyway mine always seems to start on the first turn this way

the ovp is very available its gives common starting issues to these cars, make sure you get a dual fuse ovp!!! rip out the alarm and reconnect the original wires together!!

try plug alarm back in that could be killing feed to fuel we used to unplug them because when battery starts to go flat alarm starts sqeeling its also been off road for 5 years

Hi guys I have got the exact same model and colour but mine has a Pierburg carburettor. If you put a wire between pin 7-8 on the OVP relay socket that will run the fuel pump constantly. Where you guys from..??

The diesels were very reliable cars and economical.
Quite rare now a days I can imagine.. hasn't seen one in a while now
