After doing this a couple times myself it takes me less than 10 minutes from beginning to end. So simple and saves so much money.
Thank you for informing us! It takes us about 10 minutes too.
No changing it also saves money. Just a gimmick
Thanks for the time-so I'll expect a little longer my first change. See comment above-just did the first one on my wife's Rav4...took 3 minutes going slowly.
Makes me feel like a real mechanic after doing this
We are happy to help you get the job done!
Hell yes! & the dealership charges an insane amount of money to change these simple things out psssst screw the dealership big rip off’s
Ford needs to design this better. I shouldn't have to remove that many screws to get to something like an air filter. Some cars have it where you can pinch the sides of the glove box to gain access.
I agree their engineers need to come up with a better design.
Manufacturers design their vehicles this way so the customer will easily give up and take it to the dealer where they overpay.
@@edwinhamby7788 ford told me $150 to change it out for me LOL... i was like ummmm no thanks!
This is ridiculous. Unbelievable how much you have to do. My volt and clarity is a simple tab. Ford engineers are idiots. What do you expect when I had to remove the entire bumper for my headlights. Makes me not want to change this cabin filter.
It’s an intentional design. Look up changing the headlights on the Ford Fusion. You literally have to remove the front bumper to gain access. My old Mitsubishi (despite have reliability issues) made most things easy access.
The video was VERY helpful, could not have done this without it. Glad they even mentioned the 7MM nut driver. I did not fully remove the side panel, I just pulled out the portion adjacent to the glove box, and left it clipped near the front portion toward the windshield. Ford needs a better design! Old filter had an UNBELIEVABLE bunch of debris from chipmunks that visit my garage, wish I could upload that pic. :)
Thank you for informing us!
Thank you for this detailed video! I got to show my husband I can change the filter on this difficult 2016 for fusion. You are very much appreciated. Blessings to you!
You're welcome!
Thanks. My dealership wanted to charge 347 dollars to do that and the engine filter. Im kind of glad my car is out of warranty, that pretty much did not cover much anyway. Now i can take it to my mechanic. Who maybe a bit expensive, but id rather pay for quality work and not be overcharged like at the dealership.
You're welcome!
God bless y’all for this
Happy to help!
The Ford Engineer that came up with this needs a slap.
Yes they need to do a better job.
Thank you! This helped out to replace the cabin air filter.
You're welcome!
Thank you for posting I just changed mine out following the instructions exactly like in the video I was carefully poping off the panels because it just plastic aside from that u be fine following the instructions in the video #thankyou
You're welcome!
Thanks for the video, very informative and easy to follow. Make sure you dont confuse the screws with the 2 sets of 2 right next to the bottom screws that need to be taken off, they are different sizes anyway.

Helped so much at work! Perfect video
Thank you!
Thank you for this. Saved me 185 bucks
WOW! thats a huge mark up to change this filter.
Thanks to this video, it took me 15 mins or less. Thanks, man.
Glad it helped!

Wow 😯 this was so much help step-by-step. Loved it easy to follow everything. But still damn just for a cabin air filter what’s going on with these cars🤦🏾♂️
Happy to help!
2:25 beware when unclipping both sides of the filter housing as they can break pretty easily
Thank you for informing us!
My GF Civic requires zero screws. Push sides in, glove box drops down, replace filter. Damn this fusion.
Some housing designs are easier to access than others.
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome!
As a lube tech, forget this filter lmao
Great howto video. Thanks
Very welcome
Thank you for uploading this! Super helpful. But I ran into a little problem. The fan is making noise when I put it on full blast after I replaced it. What do you think could be the problem?
Something may have fallen into the housing when removing your filter. You can get a shop vac and vacuum it out.
i've got a 2016 fusion SE hybrid... assuming it's the same... ? there was nothing in my manual about replacing this filter, only the engine filter.
Yes the installation process will be the same.

Be careful not to break off the plastic clips holding the air filter slot cover (2:56). And don't drop the screws into the depths of the compartment :[
Thank you for informing us!
What happens if you break it?
Does this apply to the 2016 fusion hybrid?
The installation should be the same but it is good to always check before purchasing a filter.
Are we sure the airflow is down? Looks like a blower housing below it.
Yes the airflow arrow points down.
do you know where the fuel kill switch it in this car
We do not have a video showing where this is located at this time.
In the trunk red button
Where's the other bolts located
The bolt being removed at 1:17 is located on the bottom part of the glove box.

My wife’s Toyota seinna is easy Just pop off of the glove box remove old filter no tools needed
Yep way better design than Fords.
Filterheads I get to change my sons 2016 Ford Fusion cabin filter in a few weeks when he comes home on leave. this video helped a lot
This was extremely difficult, especially for someone who has never done it before. I heard pieces come off and rattle down inside when putting it back together. I've seen other car videos where it seems alot easier. Ford needs to fix this asap. I'm very disappointed.
I agree, Ford's engineers could do a better job.
Why?! Why did they require all of this to be removed for such a simple task? My Chevy Silverado, I just opened the glove box & popped it open.
I agree their designers could do a better job.
why is it so difficult to get to?
Poor engineering
Ford over-engineered it and never had anyone who works on the cars say how stupid this design is.
Ridiculous that Ford made replacing something as normally easy to replace as a cabin air filter this difficult.
I agree it is a poor design.
Funny but ima be honest I didn’t know about this filter since I had my car when I bought it with 16 miles on it 61k on it and I barley found out I haven’t changed this now I found out why I started barley smelling something odd.
Yeah its good to change it once a year or every 15,000 miles.
Only car I have ever owned which requires so much tear down for basic maintenance tasks that are accessible on most other vehicles without tools. Leave it to Ford to engineer such a mess!!! NEVER again. NO wonder they stopped making these cars. Great video though.
I agree, they missed the mark when it came to the maintenance on this vehicle.

Yeah, I'm surprised but I shouldn't be after seeing the dozen plus screws to remove the underbody cover to do an oil change. How hard would a panel or cut-out have been?
This is really f.. up. I used to have an Azera 2011 and it was soooo easier. No bolts. Great video though
I agree the engineers at Ford did a poor job designing this housing.
Why in the fuck would they make it so difficult to get to the air filter
I do not know but it is poor engineering.
$$$$
Liked the video, but not how unnecessarily complex Ford engineers made this cabin air filter replacement. In comparison, I just did my wife's 2023 Toyota Rav4 cabin air filter and it took 3 minutes. For the first time changing it. Zero tools, probably take 2 minutes next year. C'mon Ford, do better!
Somewhere this moment, a tech is cursing the Ford engineer that came up with this design. Why? Just...why?
I agree this is a poor design.

Holy shit that's complicated
Yes Ford's Engineers could of done a better job.
Awesome video. Stupid Ford engineers. Every other CAF, drop glovebox, done. This one, disassemble 1/6th of dash
