    Ford needs to design this better. I shouldn't have to remove that many screws to get to something like an air filter. Some cars have it where you can pinch the sides of the glove box to gain access.

    • @filterheads

      I agree their engineers need to come up with a better design.

      This is ridiculous. Unbelievable how much you have to do. My volt and clarity is a simple tab. Ford engineers are idiots. What do you expect when I had to remove the entire bumper for my headlights. Makes me not want to change this cabin filter.

    • @CT_92
      @CT_92 Před 3 lety

      It’s an intentional design. Look up changing the headlights on the Ford Fusion. You literally have to remove the front bumper to gain access. My old Mitsubishi (despite have reliability issues) made most things easy access.

    The video was VERY helpful, could not have done this without it. Glad they even mentioned the 7MM nut driver. I did not fully remove the side panel, I just pulled out the portion adjacent to the glove box, and left it clipped near the front portion toward the windshield. Ford needs a better design! Old filter had an UNBELIEVABLE bunch of debris from chipmunks that visit my garage, wish I could upload that pic. :)

    Thanks. My dealership wanted to charge 347 dollars to do that and the engine filter. Im kind of glad my car is out of warranty, that pretty much did not cover much anyway. Now i can take it to my mechanic. Who maybe a bit expensive, but id rather pay for quality work and not be overcharged like at the dealership.

    This was extremely difficult, especially for someone who has never done it before. I heard pieces come off and rattle down inside when putting it back together. I've seen other car videos where it seems alot easier. Ford needs to fix this asap. I'm very disappointed.

  • @JohnAlford5RF

    Liked the video, but not how unnecessarily complex Ford engineers made this cabin air filter replacement. In comparison, I just did my wife's 2023 Toyota Rav4 cabin air filter and it took 3 minutes. For the first time changing it. Zero tools, probably take 2 minutes next year. C'mon Ford, do better!
