MotoGP is F1 with two wheel less.. but better 😜
Haha, as much as I love motorsport in general. MotoGP is so much better than F1
Yeah, but the big difference is that MotoGP does have racing action at the top of the field
@@luisdiegocr and the action is absolutely absurd, even to someone who rides themselves, seeing the stunts and angles they pull while pushing those bikes to the limit is awe inspiring, compared to the relative stability and hidden mechanics of an f1 car. The onboard footage of MotoGP is pure insanity.
As a f1 fan, I have to agree, the level of intensity is insane in moto gp, I still love f1 but
why not have both? Lol
Agreed. Really gone off F1 recently. Massively prefer MotoGP. Especially this year with how exciting the grid is and the fact that the two rounds we've had so far (writing this just before fp2 at Texas) have been mega and not even any of MotoGPs greatest but far better than all 4 rounds of F1. Only issue with MotoGP now is liberty media owning them and I really dislike the flashy shows they put on with F1 and i don't want to see them do something similar for the greatest sport in the world
This is very helpful, Im a big F1 fan but never really understood how motogp works
Glad you liked the video Andrew thanks :)
@@absolutedan9173 sorry but can you explain how does teams and constructors work in motogp and also why is it that most bikes look alike( is it the constructors that build it or they give the teams the part to do so)
@@absolutedan9173 I have been watching f1 and last yes was the first time I watched motogp and it has been good

I've been riding motorcycles since I was 11. Now 69. After watching MotoGP, I decided "what the hell" and bought an '07 Fireblade... at 68. Happens to be a Repsol, so beautiful. Wondering to myself if I was crazy at my age to get it, after one minute riding it I realized it was the best purchase of my entire life. Absolutely phenomenal and leaves me nearly speechless. Of course it's just a base for an older MotoGP bike, but even at that it's absolutely a beast and endless enjoyment. And, not being a 'racer' locks me into MotoGP as my favorite sport and something that completely blows my mind. GREAT VIDEO BTW!!!! I will subscribe now.
Absolutely correct my friend! I'm 33 and i have an 07 blade only in red and black but such a good bike I've said to myself ill never sell her, in my opinion one of the best looking bikes ever made even in 2024! Repsol is beautiful on that bike tho, quality purchase buddy!
First time you popping up on my feed and all I can ask is, why do you not have a million followers already, your quality and knowledge is next to none...
I appreciate it Wolfgang thanks. Got a long way to go before a million :D Working towards it though. I'm working on the quality so any feedback is always helpful.
I hope I never have to hear it that way again
Im becoming genuinely interested in motogp now that f1 has become increasingly boring lol
I completely get you! Same here
By boring you mean Max is just winning everything? 😆 I was worried he’d become a machine back in 2019/2020 but I wasn’t expecting it to be this bad
Sbk and imsa are where it’s at these days
F1 has been boring for while now. Something like 15 years. It has been one team usually blowing everyone out since the Brawn GP vs Red Bull days. I want to see close races not Mercedes win what was it? Six years in a row with no challengers….Snooze fest…
You're either too young to remember Schumacher/Hamilton or you have a short memory
thanks a lot man. after lorenzo retired i quit watching the sport but was looking to get back into it, this vid really told me forgot everything in the last 5 years
Glad you liked it Vih! Let me know if you want to see any videos about anything in particular
I understand the love for a certain rider as I will admit I nearly quit when Rossi retired but I have to say you've missed out on some cracking years since as all 4 have been great years
@@absolutedan9173if you’re interested I’d love to see this same format with a bunch of different Motorsport series - but more specifically I’d love to see this with WSBK!!
@@tylershobby I've put it in my video list 👌👌👌
Dude, you're missing out on Pedro Acosta.
Hey man I’m new to MotoGP and your video was insanely helpful! I would love to see a video or series of videos on the history of motoGP and the great drivers throughout. Thanks for the content 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it Copper! That's a great idea I'd love to do that at some point in the future!
Am an f1 fan but ever since i learnt about motor gp,i fell in love with it more than f1 tbh
Same here!
@@absolutedan9173 sure,because of its competitiveness,you know!!!
I remember the 2-stroke, four-cylinder, 500 cc GP1 bikes. Thank you for this updated primer.
I need to try and watch some more of those races from late 90's early 2000's
always some KR, MD, VR old 500 videos for entertainment;
Great video! Subscribed! As a complete noob, I really want to get into MotoGP so this video is much appreciated. Hope to see more and those watch along vids as well
Glad you liked it Juan :) Watch along videos would perhaps be coming back but I need to be a bit careful as Dorna keep copyright striking my material. Even my livestreams :D
Very well explained. I learned a lot. Thanks!
Glad you liked it Mark!
Thanks for the informative video. I've been watching MotoGP for 8 years now, and I still learned new things from the video.
Great video! I was at the Sachsenring last year and want to follow the sport more closely
Dude thank you. I tried getting into MotoGP last season, even went to Austin for the main race. Was hard to stay committed with sprints AND GPs each race weekend. Especially when I watch WEC, IMSA, F1 and the big other races like spa, bathhurst and Nurburgring
This season- I’m fully hooked to moto gp, 2, and 3. I learned a lot this video, especially qualy rules
very nice video !! Thx for putting it together !!
Damnn what a video
Fantastic explanation hands down 🙌🏻🙌🏻
A really well explained video, clear woice and a man that known what he is talking about. 👍🙂
Can’t wait for Ride to Survive comes out.
Thank u 🙏
I 🫶moto gp since a kid .. it’s nice to get a breakdown
Of what teams and riders Go thru, for this Passion of our 👊💯
Stay Awesome.😎
Thanks ❤
Hi! Awesome video!
Could you make on one WSBK too?
Thanks!
Getting into motogp since a few gamers i watch played the new game and loving it and trynna catch up. Would love a vid about the teams/drivers and why people support them 😊
Really interesting
I also would say, they seem to get up unharmed just because they’re the hardest guys on the planet. Shove a regular Joe in all that top spec safety gear and they still wouldn’t get up.
Fair point Olly, completely agree with you hah
well, your regular Joe after riding for 10+ years since the age of 6 would pretty much do the same; these riders break bones like most humans;
Great video, just to correct an error which was that aprilia and ktm are in concesion catogory c and not b as was stated, but really is not a big deal
Great spot thanks for that!
Absolutely superb!
Just a friendly reminder: The IoM is only 3 months away. hint hint.
😉
Thanks mate! Glad you liked it. Indeed IoM isn't too far away :D I've got it on the list hah!
What's lom
love the video! i am an F1 fan and trying to get into MotoGP, i used to watch Rossi back in the day, but i only watched HIM ... not the sport ;) thanks for this video ... ohhh AND BUY SOME DECORATIONS for your room! white room of ecos haha, foam on the walls, shelfs in the background and wallpapers my man ;)
You'll love it.. trust me 😁
Did this man call Yamaha's powerhouse a "traditional" inline four? No where near traditional.. traditional design fires 2 out of the 4 pistons together whilst the other 2 rely on this power stroke to release the exhaust gasses etc etc.. Yamaha use what's called a cross-plane crankshaft (notoriously known as the Big Bang Engine) which fires each individual cylinder individually at different degrees thus giving 4 "power deliveries" to the back wheel in a single rotation instead of 2. This gives you better traction in corners cause there's less gaps where there's no power to the wheel. But not that just, the best it produces is it's unique sound. Low rpm sounds like a v4, higher rpm sounds like an inline 4 screamer
There are 3 practice sessions in total for Friday and Saturday
FP1 & Practice - Friday
FP2 - Saturday
Or did I hear you wrong 🤔
Good explanation video for new comers to our sport!
it not that clear in the video. there are 3 FP. 2 on friday and 1 on saturday. there used to be 4FP but fp4 was eliminated because of the new SPRINT race. also. also is not clear that whom ever got to q2, ist going to be worst case scenario 13 place at the start of every race
Yeah It wasn't 100% clear my bad
Could you please do a video like this explaining Moto3?
Certainly can! Love the video idea thanks Naruto
Really good video!
Glad you enjoyed it :) Let me know if you want to see any particular videos in the future!
Only thing this video is missing is some elevator music in the background, and you gonna blow up in view count. _trust me_
:D I appreciate it thanks! Laughed a lot at that one
Well explained in few months 🎉
Thanks!
Thank you
Thanks Dan
I remember seeing info that they have slightly different compounds on the left and right side of the tyre depending on the number of respective corners of the track they race at. Is that still a thing?
Certainly is
How and where do I get information to follow and along and watch? I'd like a video explaining how to even begin watching and keeping up with it. I'm overwhelmed.
Can you make a video like this that explains WSBK?
Do riders do any riding (training) for the 2 weeks between races?
That's a really good question MD! I don't actually know to be honest
Surely they must. At least in some simulators, to be at peak competence
they ride simulators or at Vale's ranch :)
Are Honda using a V4? I thought they were inline 4.
Wsbk spprtsbike honda uses inline 4. Motogp honda uses v4 prototype engine
@@WestbrickFansGotNoBrains cool. I genuinely didn’t know that. Thanks.
How many teams? How do satellite teams and manufacturer teams work?
We need MotoGP : RIDE TO SURVIVE
Try 'there can be only one' it's decent but not as good as ride to survive
There's a bunch of series like that called under the skin
In F1 they also have a longer wind tunnel test for the worst team but somehow, it didnt worked. We still see one team that dominated the sport. Unless, they changed the entire car regulation
I think its really interesting that the inline 4 is practically dying in motogp while most motorcycle producers still make their top tier bikes inline 4's. On the hand I think its cool that Yamaha stays true to their roots while on the other hand I wonder how they would perform going v4.
How can I watch the races in the USA?
Not 100% sure in all honesty. I think ESPN or the MotoGP Video Pass would be you're best chances
I am a new motogp fan. could you explain what are teams and how to identify their racers? it is confusing and hard to identify them by looking at a bike or at a rider. does a rider who wins in satruday has extra points in sunday match?
Best to follow the riders' bike numbers until you start to recognise their individual livery. They all look slightly different, though it's confusing at first
ok i'll try to 🙂
identify team colors, then ride number; e.g. its light blue and either #73 or #93. Or dark blue and the #20 has horns;
@@russelfernandes8483 okk thank u
Well there are 5 factory teams :
Ducati, the red one, rider #1 and #23
Aprillia, black with white, green, red stripes, rider #12 and #41
KTM, black and have Redbull sponsors, rider #43 and #33
Yamaha, the blue one, rider #20 and #42
Honda, the black (carbon) with white, orange, blue stripes, rider #36 #10
There are also satelite teams (sister team to the factory) but this teams in this season run a bright and colorfull livery you'll catch them 😂
For the sprint, half the distance race hence half the point and only from 1 to 9 respectively.
What is important about Motogp in the last 7 years is a standard ECU and standard tire that all teams use. Before this the costs were so high since some teams had pockets to develop a better ECU. Poor teams had inferior ECU that could not compete. Also there were two tire manufacturers so if you were sponsored by Bridgestone you were stuck all year, where another team chose Michelin. This also made for bad racing if you chose the wrong tire sponsor your were stuck with a inferior tire all season.
The last 6 years have been closests racing in motogp due to 1)single ECu 2) single tire provider 3)everyone realized to use a V4 engine…. Sorry Yamaha and Rossi
i love motogp
Ah yes... Mitschelin tires.
is not clear that whom ever got to q2, ist going to be worst case scenario 13 place at the start of every race
Good point Deny, I missed that
does Motogp have a constructors championship?
No mention of Moto3 or Moto2?
Whenever they crash a bike they have to replace all those parts. Is that a contributing factor to these high prices per season?
I can imagine it certainly has an impact. Not 100% sure unfortunately, but they must factor it into their budget.
I don’t understand why when I’m in first place for example next thing I see in 6th place and I have the lead
Imagine MotoGP pitstop
Seems too complicated of a competition to follow along and garner huge following.
7 engines, but those can be completely rebuilt right? If that's the case, it's an almost infinite amount of engines.
I thought it was pronounced as Mishelen
It is, unless you're British then you add a "T" for no reason
MotoGP is the top tier Motorcycle sport but BSB and WorldSBK actually provide the best racing and entertainment.
Are the Japanese teams getting extra testing in Spain? "concessions"?
Yes, extra testing outside of the official testing too, also extra wild card.
I can’t believe they’re putting wings on the back. Looks like they’re being riced out 😢
You know that ricers are just trying to look like racers, right?
Racers add aero and other features purely for performance reasons. Nothing is just for aesthetics
😊
Wait, they can change bike in the middle of race now?
wet race;
Michelin is a french name, and pronounced Mi-she-lin.
where are the pillion seats in these bikes
What would they need them for?
on the other side of the single swing arm in the wheel well;
@@dielaughing73 it's a joke
@@dielaughing73 it's a joke
U made a mistake by saying that there are only soft and hard compound, u forgot medium
Wrong. M rears are available
I know what the bore is, and I know what the stroke is. But "bore stroke" is gibberish and makes me question everything else you say.
true;
Ok, and why are they riding in a circle?
MotoGP is clear of F1 these days, but with Liberty Media buying them, for how much longer?
already a done deal. for now they're keeping the grid girls!
They don't both have to use the same engine spec in the same team. False.
Except they have been using medium rear so this aged poorly in a month.
I used to love F1, but the political BS over the years made me drop it. Can anyone tell me if Motogp is better in that respect?
It's a little more grassroots but still elitest af
"You need to like this comment"
Haha, my bad
@@absolutedan9173The video was great! Keep it up dude! Although I suggest that if you want more subscribers, you should rename the Channel to make sure people know it's associated with motorsport and also changing the profile picture wouldn't hurt.
Too complicated and too expensive. WSBK is the future.
Warning: No driving techniques explained here.
I could do without the giant text flashing across the screen. I can hear you talking just fine.
Too much rules, it’s a conspiracy to stall Japanese manufacturers
Nah... I stick with F1
For the love of God don’t type the words you’re saying on the screen. We can either hear or use CC.
Womp womp
Yes! I have up about half way through
Time for Liberty to ruin the sport like F1 now 🥲
Dorna remember are keeping the rights to decide regulations and all that. I'm hoping that Liberty Media can bring more people to the sport without completely ruining it
More people watching F1 than ever. F1 beeing financial stable for once. And the Teams actually can make money. If something, they saved F1 from financial ruin. But yes, we all want the V12/V10 back. But that is not the wrongdoing of liberty. I certanly dont want the Ecclestone days back.
Liberty is the best thing to happen to both - if you have any idea how F1 was in the 50s-80s, even mid-90s - min public interest and deaths every year;
