Why MotoGP Tyres Allow Riders to Corner at INSANE Speeds

Motorbike racing tyres are smooth almost all of the time. Which are more commonly known as slicks. They don't have any tread or grooves on them. But if you look at every bike on the road, you'll see that they all have tread some grooves on them.

    Really interesting, especially sillustrating difference between good race car engine v bike. ( do find it ironic a reasons given why 2-strokes were dropped included engines were becoming too powerful & uncontrollable = Aprilla “hold my beer” 250hp😳...😂)

    No one was cheating . The tires are over heating and the teams where lowering pressure so the high heat did not blow tires . FYI manufacturers did not lower pressurers enough to gain an advantage of higher grip

    When?? The Italian brands cheat like hell and the fim helps them. The fim can't stand how dominant the Japanese brands have always been so they helped Aprilia and Ducati get to the front. Why do you think that as soon as they enforced the "controlled ECUs", all of a sudden Ducati and Aprilia had the most horsepower by some margin. Its a joke, look at the fims bias in formula one with Ferrari, Ferrari gets away with murder

  • @tomfull6637
    @tomfull6637 Před 2 dny

    They should build a 2+4 stroke engine combined. Two 250 cc cylinders running 2-stroke and three 330 cc cylinders running 4-stroke. On the same crankshaft.

  • @TheCaptainmojo1973
    @TheCaptainmojo1973 Před 2 dny

    Would a bit more mass on the crank have helped the electronics manage the power delivery much better? Surely today’s advanced electronics would have no trouble taming such a thing. Everyone who races motorcycles understands it’s not bout how much power you have, it’s how much you can use, especially while on the edge of the tire.

    Maybe they should have looked at the failure of the Norton Cosworth, before going to Cosworth for another chopped down F1 motorcycle engine.

    otherwise I don't think that I need to actually watch this. Was a point in time where I actually cared about this stuff and that was right after Ducati switched over to using their WSBK V4 engine in their MotoGP bike, well after Honda switched over, still back when KTM was just hanging onto a MotoGP grid space by a thread. Now it's the entire grid other than Yamaha? LOL that might mean something if I knew or cared who was on the grid :) Is Marc Marquez still in retirement (and racing wheelchairs) or is he back to racing in MotoGP now? any chance that they are going to switch back to 500cc engines?

    Ahh, the Cube... the little Tiki Torch! Ask Colin Edwards about this thoughts on this bike..

  • @TheSudsy
    @TheSudsy Před 3 dny

    i think any bike would out accelerate an F1 car, what you probably meant was that f1 cars can brake later and harder - as unintuitive as it sounds the better you can stop the faster you are. F1 cars actually carry more speed in the corners as they have more grip and the advantage of aero pushing down. The cube was unstable so didnt handle stopping particularly well, and wasnt too happy squirting out of corners.

    I own a 99 blade and a 2001 vfr800fi , obviously early days of v4 and 100cc less ,inline four blade lighter as well so counter to current v4 dominance.Had a 2000 Vtr1000f as well until last year just to compare all three(very torquey)
