- After I converted my preorder to order on the new Ford F150 Lightning, I needed to see the truck in person. Luckily Washington Auto Show 2022 had the F-150 Lightning. I had some questions and concerns. Everyone knew about the specs, range, towing, and the price, but I needed to know how the color looks and how good the design is in person. Here is what I found out.

Dude, you are an awesome content creator! Can’t wait to see your future videos and to help the channel grow!!! Thanks for the great work.
I really appreciate this comment! Thanks so much! I’m excited too! Let’s see where this goes!
I agree 100%. Great work man!
Great video. Really glad you addressed the clearance issue. That was one of my concerns with the Lightning based on photos shown online. Glad to hear it's better IRL.
Thanks Stephen! Yeh it's definitely little lower than a standard F150, but not as drastic as those pictures. 17.8 degrees break-over angle vs 23.5 degrees. Those skid plates better work. LOL
Your editing is sharp. Very nice👏
Thanks Ramon. I appreciate that!
I like your unique views on different aspects of owning the vehicle, such as the squirrel entry areas and the rust prone areas. Keep it up. 👍
Haha thanks Robert! I hope to continue that theme of raw perspective as things happen. I appreciate the support and I’ll keep going!
love the production value here. I believe ground clearance for lightning is 8.9 inches
Thanks Joseph! I had fun with this one😄 interesting.. So it’s about half inch lower than gas variant but I wonder how much of that varies when you fill up an extended range heavy 36 gallon.
I too hope to drive this truck on sand so I also have been obsessed/bothered by that droopy battery pack that Ford has been hiding on their website, all the pictures kinda minimize that huge battery pack
@@JosephHerzog stuck F150 Lightning in sand is good CZcams content😁 LOL. She is heavy. I might have to not load her too much when going on soft sand.
Imagine thinking the Silverado looks worse than the F-150.
I heard if you order the trailer package it includes a heat pump for better mileage…any info you have?
Hey Phil, that would be nice for these cold weather range. I do plan on going to another auto show in a month and collecting questions to ask. I put your question down. 👍
That is right about the tow package no one has asked about about it for the Florida, boats and Texas, horses people that tow a lot
I did ask this question to Ford thru a chat on the website build. I received the following answer by e-mail since the person on the chat did not know. “22MY F-150 Lightning does not have a heat pump. However, it does have preconditioning settings so the vehicle can warm/cool up the interior and battery prior to driving if it is scheduled beforehand for optimal performance.” I am not sure they understood my question from this answer. They did not qualify their answer with whether it comes with a trailer tow package so I am assuming it only has resistive heating.
@@joevigil5274 hi Joe, thanks for asking…maybe yes, maybe no…we’ll see…
@@phileasler5401 , I am responding to them for clarification. Will inform you if I get a definitive answer.
its not "front squat", it's called "rake".......
Noted. Thanks for that correction. 🤦♂️ 🙏
Show the truck more for those that can't get to the shows!
Alright Matthew, I do plan on going to another show shortly early Spring. This time, I should have all day. I would love to get b rolls of something that’s not common on CZcams. If there is something you (or anyone) want to see, let me know!
Cool video! Excellent quality! Bigger channels can learn from you how to make special effects and transitions in their videos. Just keep it up and results will come.
Wow thanks so much for the encouragement. Little disclaimer, I do have another channel. Not huge by any means but I learned a lot from that channel. One day I’ll talk more about that channel and how that fits into this one.
