- It's happening! My 2022 F 150 Lightning build date has been scheduled! In this video, I go over when Ford order tracking by VIN works as Ford vehicle order tracking is not as straight forward when you ordering directly from a dealership, which I will also discuss in this video.

I have a question you put in a reservation for the lighting truck in May 2021 , so why did you say on the video that you could not order the Pro Lighting or not available ??? Why ?? When not everyone can't afford that trim level , where the pro is slightly cheaper ????
Still don’t see that 4 digit order code on mine. I got a scheduled delivery date for Sept. 16th would be nice to track it.
I put in the reservation on 11/28/2021 , and we are labor day weekend , i have not received an email from ford yet on the invitation yet , I called the number ford motor company , my reservation still good but don't anything when i will get the invitation yet??? Do you know this question???
How long did it take for your vehicle to be built once it went into production?
All good information, only problem is if this video gets enough traction some of these tracking methods are going to be taken out. Like the Pals site.
My dealership took the $500 as soon as they got word of their allotment.

Th reason they won’t take your deposit is they will mark up the price. If you put the $500 plus down then the price is locked in
I thought of that scenario too. I guess we will find out in about a month. It will be very sad to find out, to get the correct price, someone would have to push even more.
very nice. my order date was 1/20 as well, and put an addional $500 deposit, which was taken. but my Platinum is delayed. got an email from ford on 3/18 that it was delayed, and i think its due to the front seats being on short supply.
Hey Paul! Congrats on your early order! Haha, Platinum Lightning does have a lot of parts. I got the default "we've run into few delays" email on 3/19. Forgot to mention that in this video. I heard on a forum this email was sent out by mistake to Lightning customers. Of course there is Ford priortizing Pro and Lariat trims first too. Hope your truck goes into production soon.
@Paul Hipsky Did you receive dealer notification for those options that are not available for MY 22 Lightning - powered running boards & lie flat seats ? If you did not sign off on the deletions, your truck will be delayed.
@@patshozo9158 thank you for the reply. i did not option in the lie flat seats on my order. i know the power running boards are not being used, but i did not get anything from my dealer to sign off on to agree to that. i will ask them. i thought the delay on the platinum was the massaging seats were on short supply.
I've been an EV enthusiast for over 20 years. Ford did everything right with the F150 Lightning. Even took it all to the next level.
Yeh it's a lot riding on this vehicle. 20 years!? I think I was playing with battery RC cars then. 😄

Can you please show us how to track the freight from the website? You said you would let us know how to do it. They have changed my delivery date at least FIVE times and I want my truck. I at least want to see where it's located.
Hey! 5 times is a lot. That would drive me crazy. So they changed the Palsapp website since and we can no longer track it this way. It was all over the forums and maybe they caught onto it. Your best official method maybe Ford marketing. I know it’s not the same experience every time you call (some reps are good, some…. Lost). Even when my tracking showed blank, they were able to track it down for me.
My Lariat is going into production approximately the week of June 13. Could you share the best numbers to call if my dealer decides not to agree to the MSRP only and zero dealer markup. I fear that when it comes in they may try to change the agreement and charge a markup.
Hey Ralph. That's in lot of people's minds including mine. I haven't run across any official report line, but that marketing number on this video would be a start if you run into that. My truck went into production this week, so I'll let you know my dealership experience soon on this channel for sure.

Thanks, I think you are in the Washington DC area. My dealer that I selected is Front Royal Ford. My truck is the only Lightning that they have been able to push the “order” button. They have many orders typed in, but the system will not let them push order. I will watch again and write down the number. I am anxious to see the accuracy of production schedule as well as the delivery time.

Nice! Let’s go Ken! Insurance shouldn’t be too much higher than a regular F150 when I called my insurance.
I am replacing an older F250 Super Crew Lariat with an F150 Lariat Lightning with full coverage, $500 deductible and 2 year replacement value and my insurance is going to increase $28.00 per month. I was very pleasantly surprised!
How long u got left to its finished?
When I go into the motorcraft link, I’m only getting error messages. My Lightning build week was last week and it still says in production. Does that mean no chips being installed yet? Is there a special software that I need to see it. Tried pulling it up in word? I want my ev truck!
Hey Phil! Mine was coming up as a blank data right up until couple days ago. Now it’s two page long hexadecimal. No special software needed. Since my production week was 5/23, seems like they are slightly behind now. Hopefully yours populate by next week.

Great video! Does anyone know how long it takes to build the truck? I have a production date of 05/30/2022 for a Pro model. After it’s built, how long will it take to ship to the dealer?
Hey Alejandro, that's currently a lot of people's question. No one knows the definite answer yet until they experience it, but looking at how Bronco and Mach-E was built and shipped, it could take 2 week - 2 months to ship. I know! 2 month would be horrible, but that did happen for some Broncos. My order status got a little white dot on "In Production" on May 12th (official scheduled production of week of May 23rd). No chip was installed yet. I'll try to post something when things start moving, but hey! that's awesome you got the Pro this early! Congrats!

I got it in black but I’m debating whether or not to switch to carbonized gray. I think it might be too late for that haha. Do you know if I call the marketing number they’ll be able to add the tailgate with the step for me?
@@alejandrofertitta6713 any time! 5/30 is coming up so soon. I was advised not to change anything close to the build date since that will risk in delaying the truck. Also your window sticker is probably available if not will be available very soon. Hard to change after that process. My build week is 5/23, and the window sticker was available to view last week. If your dealership is good at communicating, won't hurt asking. The Ford Marketing dept. won't be able to change your order details.
Build dates seem to be all over the place - some wave 1 orders are just receiving VIN & build dates. While mine was a wave 6 order and I got my production build in less than 3 weeks. Others with complicated builds, missing parts/modules, optional powered running boards, lie flat seats, etc are slowing down build times.
IT SHOULD TAKE LESS THAN 24 HOURS BUT WITH SO MANY PARTS SHORTAGES FROM CHINA IT COULD BE SIX MONTHS AT A MINIMUM
My product date is May 30 as well 👍

I keep checking and my sticker is still not available. Did yours appear right after it went into production or prior to production date? I do have a VIN #.
@@ralphgronlund9883 I got my sticker right after the “in production” status lit up with a white dot. I’ll try to update the duration of this step on my CZcams channel’s “community” tab when things change.

If u get one built from Ford do you avoid dealership markup?
Hey Omar! Currently since you have to go through a dealership either way when you purchase the vehicle, there is no 100% proof way. They are supposed to sell it to you at the agreed price when you put in the order, but we've all seen those ridiculous markups already. Interested in seeing how Ford Model E sales method will work in the future where customers can purchase directly from Ford like Tesla.
Wow I would advise that when buying a vehicle get a signed sales agreement at the time of sale its a Legal contract so there's no guess work and the Dealer can't mark up a sale. That's good business sense.

Haha I have been checking everyday Phil! It's still showing up as "in production" but the chip module hasn't populated yet. Now I'm really hoping I get this truck before Q2 ends.

@@EVTruckLOG that is certainly interesting. I had an email a couple weeks ago that my production date slipped to the week of June 20. It makes me think that there are the typical first off the line production issues🙈😩
@@EVTruckLOG very interesting. I received an email the other day changing production week from 20 June to 11 July. I hope this is because they are making sure that all measures are in place to maintain a high level of quality control. All expected snags on a new production line.
I HOPE, that dealership isn’t going to sell it to the highest bidder (dealerships WILL have fat cats offering,whatever it takes). Sounds very suspicious that they have a deliberate OUT, not committing to your purchase because they didn’t receive your deposit?? Very irregular response to my mind.

See if you can find a Local Law Firm (not a boutique atty), They may take it on for nothing, in case they can use their experience in future litigation.
You may be surprised at how those Big (local) Lawfirms can fit a "filler" case in. After all they’ve oftentimes some Law clerks that may also want a Lightning and could cover your back as a P.R. thing .

Haha I see that all the time on forums. It’s so random sometimes. Simple Pro build and Lariats first, and rest is a toss up LOL. Who knows what shipment is going to look like. Maybe yours will arrive to the dealership before mine 😆 We’ll have to see! Congrats on your production date tho! 👍🤜
@@EVTruckLOG It's all the clean living he does. Even though a virtuous life is its own reward, sometimes it pays dividends. I placed my "Pro" order on Jan 6th and my build week is July 11th, so I am taking the extra time to work on myself and to try to become a better person.
@@KLFaber 😂😁 I wish! Unfortunately there are not so clean dealerships. I’m hoping mine is clean. The first Lightning the dealership gets is in higher risk for some loophole markup.
My dealership got a Lariat in a few weeks ago. My production date has past and still no update. 😮💨😮💨
@@michealton curious. Did you add in additional options like spray in bed liner? Yeh you should have seen your truck be built by now if it’s pretty bare. Might not be horrible thing. Mine came little buggy/faulty which I’m gonna talk about in my next video. Something they can easily fix on production.

Have you reached out to Ford directly and asked why the dealership will not accept your deposit? This definitely sounds like they’re going to sell the truck out from under you
I know right? We can see the rug just being placed under bright as day. I’m just hoping it’s a nice red carpet. 😆 I did talk to Ford marketing about this couple times but until the rug is actually pulled, not much I can do about it since technically dealer hasn’t done anything wrong. If the rug does get pulled, the line they used on me would be one of the most deceptive practices. 😆😭 We shall see…
Look into the charging system, going to cost me about 10k just to have it installed
