      @@chloroken Of course also observe the usual precautions when going through heavily camped systems. Pings are your best friend.
      Also I would suggest switching to a different Blockade Runner if possible. The Crane may be the tankiest of its peers, but it is also the only one that cannot hit sub-3s align time without faction modules or implants (all the other can simply fill their lows with Inertia Stabs). The Prorator is in a 3s alignment fit sadly by far the worst, with the least cargo and the least eHP (it gets interesting for a 2s fit though). The Prowler and Viator are very close with each other, with the former having slightly more eHP while the latter has slightly more cargo.

    I'm glad to see you doing that ghost site. But please expand that cargo scan window, could be valuable bpcs in there.
    A tip that may come in handy for future, if you find yourself mid hack with valuable cargo onboard, or you happen to just loot the can and get pointed by the rats, jettison that cargo! You'll blow up but at least you can come back and scoop up the juicy loot!

    Sadly I found out I suffer agoraphobia in space. It's really hard sometimes undock because there's so much randomity in space it's bleepin' ridiculous!
    Your Nomad series helps confront the random incidents. I even dared a bit of exploring this week; something I haven't done since I finished the career agents the first time around. Trembled into a wormhole, ran out like a chicken with its tail feathers on fire. Then tried it again, and again. Perhaps next week I'll be brave and try approaching a site or something!
    Oh, Bob-down-below, exploring in wormholes is terrible when you're hardly used to the amount of space. Thank you for your hard work with this series. Therapeutic like you wouldn't believe.

    • @chloroken
      @chloroken  Před rokem +5

      Frankie, I'm happy that my journey inspired you to break out of your comfort zone, if only for a brief moment. Sometimes even the most fleeting of experiences can be the most impactful.
      Admittedly, I too am extremely uncomfortable with lots of stuff that happens in Anoikis. It's a harsh, scary section of a harsh, scary game - even if my nonchalance says otherwise. Add to that a level of attention I never suspected would come my way, and you've got a scenario where I'm drifting outside of my comfort zone too, right there with you.
      I hope you continue to enjoy the series, and if you ever pop back into a wormhole, make sure to stop by and let me know how you fared. :)

    The better way to find citadels in J-space is to open your solar system map and then under the filters un-check "citadels" and re-check it. When you do this any citadels in that solar system will pulse on the map making it easy to see.

    hey,
    good to see eve vids!
    just a advice on the ghost site, its not the "loot" you want to get its the BPC's that are worth the billions in the ghost sites. so ignore the "estimated prices" but check for implants and other special BPC's.
    the best run i ever took out so far.. 4bill BPC.
    if you have questions, send me a private message will gladly explain some tips and tricks.
    plus the timer is 2 minutes from the moment of landing. i always run my timer from warping in to be safe, and i always go from a celestial that is as close as possible.
    greetings,
    Phantom Silver
    ps. if you have strontium in your stick (tower) its basicly never worth going for a bash on a stick. it goes in a reinforce mode with the amount of strontium as "feul"

    • @chloroken
      @chloroken  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you for the tips. I would love to know more about Ghost Sites. I knew right away after I had gotten back into the POS that I should have checked the cans more thoroughly, but I was definitely a bit nervous and dealing with unknown mechanics.
      Are you saying that the timer is 2 minutes, regardless of cloak, regardless of space class? I talked with a guy who had some data points (docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11A1fdD-lGJpO1VAJbr90wkANWhjJQ4ATiLOTu663uHU/edit#gid=0) and it seems like it's a big range. The mechanic is a bit confusing for me.

    The excitement in your voice when you pvp or when something goes smoothly (like the crane + stick driveby) really lifts my spirit. Success isn't guaranteed in Eve, and that makes the reward for the hard work ever sweeter. I think you handled the Orca move better than you give yourself credit for. You could've retreated to the stick but then you might've kicked yourself for giving up on the new home. Sometimes the risk is worth it.
    Looking forward to episode 3!

  • @ill__wind

    I love these vids! Just one tip: In the Superior ghost site, the main reason I would look for them is that they can contain one specific and very very expensive BPC, but your cargo scanner window was too small to spot it if it was there in one of the cans. The High-grade Ascendancy Omega BPC which is worth about 2.5 Bil ISK atm, used to be even more. I have been looking for these Ghost sites in WH for months without seeing one and one day I just found 2 of them in one system. In one of these there was loot about 300 mil, in the other one tho I found this BPC and had enough ISK to plex acc for another month :D

    So another tip this time about hacking. The minigame can have "safe routes" and what i mean by that is if a dot is surrounded on all sides by other dots the middle dot should always be safe. So sometimes you can navigate the minigame by following the safe route. Generally it isnt needed if you have good skills but a newbie ship with bad skills might have a use for it.

It's the big cloud, so you can be like 100km above the center and still suck it down. The small one isn't worth much, and the sentries have no blue loot.

      I just do not possess the resources at this time to make it happen.
      But once I cannot operate 3 characters simultaneously on separate accounts and separate compufirst. Then I'll give it a shot.
      Been playing solo for a while.
      Done a little gas huffing.
      Scouted out wormholes for transport jobs to get from high to null and back.
      But never stuck around for any prolonged period Of time.
      I am absolutely going to want a cloaked ship protecting my mining ship on site.
      Had bad experiences in the past.
      Don't want to repeat them.
      Might just be incredibly bad luck.
      Whenever I enter warm hole, have to follow the adage. That anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
      Because it inevitably always does for me.
      Fifty people log in and just wipe me out.
      Or Chase me for several hours even when I log out for a couple hours come back. People are immediately scanning down my safe.
      Forcing me to bounce all over the place.
      I don't know.
      It might just be my play style.
      But I feel I'm gonna need. At least two accounts that I can be playing simultaneously and a third to be actively Able to do stuff. So I can make moves quickly simultaneously whenever an opportunity or opening presents itself.
      Help the guy set up an Astrahouse in a worm hole not long ago.
      I wish him luck but the entire time I was in my battleship fighting loki's And cruisers while trying to roll the hole.
      Granted him putting up a structure was definitely painting a target on his back. But then again, it's no bigger. A target painted on his back than me just showing up in a system solo scanning or mining apparently.
      I guess it's mostly just I want the blast anybody who's flying In a small gang.
      And and have a Reasonable chance of winning in a straight up fight.
      At least for the initial conflict so I can move along.
      Only being able to play for about an hour to an hour and a half a day is also a limitation.
      So having multiple accounts to capitalize on that limited window is going to be critical.

    You had a couple close calls but it worked out. Do you always log out your characters in the pos? I would've thought it would be preferable to have atleast the t3 pilots log in a deep safe out of scan range if possible.

    I'm sure it has been pointed out to you, but your math on the residue seems incorrect to me. Your 'expected average damage' to the cloud (units of cycles) is (1+1+2)/3=4/3, and your average yield is trivially (1+1+1)/3=1, so your yield/clouddamage = 3/4 = 75% not 66%. This is because 2/3 of the time you take 1 cycle off the cloud and 1/3 of the time you take 2 cycles off of it.
    If you make this change, your spreadsheet would predict 80.7 m^3 and 395mil value, which was within 1% of the value you obtained.
    Awesome series. I've been thinking of Nomading for a long time, totally missed this series. I went with a different path for moving solo into wormhole space that I'm only a few weeks into, but I'll enjoy watching how yours unfolded as well.

      @chloroken  Před rokem

      So, nobody has pointed this out yet, and this is very helpful.
      I noticed, over many weeks, that the residue numbers I was using were wrong. Without realizing how the formula itself was off, I estimated (via feel, not recorded data) that the wasted amount was more along the lines of 0.2 instead of 0.33. Neither was correct, apparently!
      It's awesome to both understand the issue in the spreadsheet as well as learn how close the feeling was to the actual numbers. You can even hear me reference this later in the series when I mention that the 'residue is wrong' a few times.
      I'll attempt to edit the spreadsheet here shortly with your corrections. Thanks again.
      Edit: I realize you pointed out a scenario where I talked about the discrepency. I think I talk about it a few more times. Either way, good comment.

    39:53 I know this is kinda nitpicky but technically the residue will cut into your isk/h, since when you proc residue it removes all of the gas you got for one cycle, and since the resiude will happen around 1/3 of the time, wouldnt it also decrease isk/hr even with assumed unlimited clouds by a third?
    Also loving this series, as someone who is like 2 weeks into the eve addiction this is really cool, from the perspective of showing a completely different playstyle to mine (even though I do spend quite a bit of time in jspace) and also showing off content that realistically i will either never get to play with or not want to do, since idk how i feel about multiboxing. Still really cool content!

    • @chloroken
      @chloroken  Před rokem

      It depends on how you look at it. In that segment I was looking at the actual applied ISK per cycle extrapolated into ISK per hour, for which we can safely ignore residues. The topic about 'gas can't be measured in ISK/hr' is correct and we talk about that much more later on, but it's okay to compare the scoops in a vacuum. There's a segment in episode 12 that I go heavily, heavily in-depth as to all the scoop options, I'm certain this will interest you.
      Happy you're enjoying it, amazed someone who's so new can keep up with the series! It's normal to reject multiboxing as a concept for newer players, it's really out of reach in a number of big ways at that point. Later on when you settle down you can revisit the decision to bring another account or two, but it's perfectly okay to play just a single character as well, so don't feel pressured.

    I think it would be really interesting to hear/talk about the orca fitting. iirc right now you are tank fit including the rigs, right? Personally I often like to fit slower/vulnerable ships with a mindset that if I get tackled by a sufficiently large group I have no chance of survival anyways, which is why I try to make them slippery instead of tanky. Maybe fitting hyperspatial rigs to shorten the warps (in my mind one of the most dangerous times because you can’t make any adjustments anymore but the enemy can set up). I will explore this thought in pyfa myself tomorrow to see if it could be worth it on the orca, but hearing your opinion on the topic would be very interesting nonetheless.

    • @chloroken
      @chloroken  Před 2 lety +1

      This is a great point. I've definitely not talked about it in-depth.
      I touched a tiny bit on what my original ideas were with regards to the Orca's fittings, but after I got out here, it was like a big scramble. Truthfully, I haven't put enough time into optimizing the Orca because of how infrequently I plan on moving. However, it's definitely a conversation worth having.
      With my last move, I used two strategic cruisers as escorts, and tank mid/lows, with a Warp Core Stabilizer as well as EC drones and whatnot. It was far from perfect. Someone suggested webbing the Orca into warp, which is a pretty good idea with the Loki sitting around.
      Please let me know your findings. I will follow up with you in a later video. Also, episode 3 is coming out tonight or tomorrow!

    If that Vargur was fit correctly, would have messed up both T3Cs. You'd want at least a 1kdps gank proteus, with LG ass slapper (repper) implants plus drugs and a full rack neut legion to grind down two large cap batteries with LG talismans while taking 2 heavy neuts from the beast. No cloaks, full fleet fit. The Legion will have to warp out and come back, rinse and repeat but moving directly away from it could prove to be a death sentence by autocannons with uber range. Proteus can orbit at 3000 and blap the Void for quite a while on AB if you keep up with the cap booster so that's the easier one to pilot. Scary thing to do with all those active modules dual boxing let alone quad box. Anything stops moving, neither tank could handle it in Bastion and while it has cap it will easily tank two Proteii. Perhaps a stealth bomber to get the initial scram so it can't MJD away. Might get volleyed but SBs are mad cheap.

      Hey. I usually try to bump stuff when possible, although I'm sure I've forgotten plenty of times. Do remember though, that this Proteus fit I'm using sports a 1,600mm. Usually, by the time the MWD spools up to a halfway decent speed, the target is either dead already or has warped off.
      In episode 3, we actually see a few people dodge the bump at the last moment. It's pretty intense. In episodes 4 and on, we'll *most likely* see some bumps from the Tactical Destroyer as well when I scan them and land on them.

If your POS gets attacked, could you not just warp into a far save and stay cloaked there until the downtime and be like off for like 4 days until they are gone. Log in again and build a New POS? Would you not avoid them from also setting up a pos or what is the Issue with that?

    • @chloroken
      @chloroken  Před 2 lety

      Hey!
      So, here's the thing. Despite being super transparent in the videos about just about everything, I have kept a few cards up my sleeve to stay safe. What you've described with flying the Orca off to a safe before downtime is a viable strategy for just about everything beyond a true bubble wrap and something I will be doing should push come to shove.
      I also have a few other ideas for how to get out of someone trying to shut me down. But, with a little luck, we'll never have to use them. Of course, if you're ever in a scenario where you're getting shut down and you need someone to bounce ideas off of in the heat of the moment, hit me up and I can do my best to assist in that regard.
