Interesting comment about previous users coming back to Adobe LR & PS. I am one of those users. Some of the alternatives are almost, if not more, expensive especially as they charge upgrade fees annually (sometimes more frequently). The DAM management they offer is not up to LR standards in most cases. The learning curve for some is difficult and I already spent a lot of time learning LR. I believe I have spent more in trying to discover alternatives that I would have spent just paying my £9.98 per month to Adobe. I plan to use LR and PS (not often) and a few plugins from now on.
In the last update I lost my toolbar. Not knowing what it was called it was impossible to figure out how to fix it until I saw this video. Thanks Anthony for another great video. I credit you as my main Lightroom teacher!
Truly, I can't see what all the trouble with the "subscription" aspect of Adobe problems is. The constant "bug fixes," "functional updates" and major updates, makes it well worth it. I've dropped numerous programs due to their constant "updates" at a "reduced(ya right)" price. With the improvements in technology bringing about more and more updates, I'm truly thankful that I'm a subscription holder!!!
It's mainly due to people like me. I'm a hobbies not a professional and don't use editing software everyday. I use Affinity mainly now along with Luminar 4 approx 2 hrs a week. The idea of paying monthly strikes me as pointlessly wasting money. There are many people like me and Adobe have abondonded the idea that we like to edit. Pity really.
@@gbarr711 Understandable, though I've had a broken camera for near two years, yet still pay that small fee. Keeping my program always up to date. Having spent maybe 10 min. in Lightroom Classic this month, adjusting a phone photo. Having the ability to take a photo on my phone, even using LR to do so, then with one click transferring it to my laptop to adjust is awesome. Doing it this way, because I prefer the larger screen of my laptop and the added features of LRC. All while keeping everything well organized.
Another great video Anthony covering material about which I knew nothing. My greatest shock is in your taskbar where it says that at half-past noon on the 11th of December in Buffalo, NY it was 64 degrees! As a local DFW radio host says about Texas summers, you don't have to shovel heat. Cheers and Merry Christmas.
Hi Anthony. Great to have you on here as usual. I don’t send you emails because I understand how busy you are. I’m an older Aussie Bloke who has taught himself quite good editing skills via yourself and a few other Photographers world wide. I’m very fortunate that I don’t have to attend work. But I’m damn busy on L/R. and P/S. thank you for your commitment. Stay safe.
I've been subbed and have the 'bell' activated as I want to see your videos as they come out. You know, Anthony, the reason I enjoy your video so much? 1. You talk in a relatively even tone and speed. 2. Likewise, you DON'T assume the listener is at episode 416 (an expert). Thus, I find the material/information you share quite easy to absorb. Thanks, Anthony, and keep the videos coming.
Now that so much is available in Lightroom Classic, Luminar AI (soon to be Neo), Topaz, etc. It would be great to see some tutorials showing your workflow with these new tools that are available. I have found that sometimes with all the emphasis on new product that I get paralyzed and procrastinate editing my photos and they sit there on the computer waiting for me to get inspired or figure out where to use them. I feel these tools offer great features we just need to simplify the workflow. Sorry for the rant. Hope this makes sense. Always found your teaching to be clear and informative. Thanks!
I love On1 but may stop it this year; too expensive now. Love Capture One Pro, but more expensive every year! The Adobe sub is looking better with every passing change to On1, Capture One, Luminar. Only Exposure is reasonable for now for us non-pro togs.
I wish there was a was to switch sides for the panels. Just bought a sketch tablet and since I’m left handed I would prefer to have all the sliders to the left.
Always interesting, Anthony, I've followed you for a couple of years now. Some time ago, you introduced me to a very useful, but almost hidden feature - the "amount" slider in the mask function - and since then I have made extensive use of it, but since this latest iteration of Lightroom Classic, it has stopped working, at least, on my computer. I wonder if you could check to see if it still works for you and comment on it please?
Once you select your mask function, you will find a little arrow with a drop down box that will take you to the amount slider. It is on the far right side of the box with the name of the selected effect.
@@susanlopez4250 Yes, I know, that is what I was describing as no longer working. Having selected and applied a mask function move the slider, but it has no effect. I had been used to using it for several years, but since Adobe's change, it no longer works
In Library module my Quick Develop preset drop down always reverts to “Custom” even though I have gone into Preferences and changed my default to a global import preset I have for my one camera…any fix for that?
Anthony, is it possible to change the colour/shade of the Toolbar? I find it difficult to see the flag and rating filter status against the dark grey colour.

Question: By what process or keystroke to you zoom the panels during your instructions? Thank you for your excellent teaching!
I use to use the sliders for shadows etc but they seem to have gone or have they moved.
