Thanks for playing my game! Thanks for the feedback. Will start working on the next update and also make the ships not be upside down!
Keep up the good work king 🫡
The hex price ran off the edge of the screen. This is from being left justified to the coin symbol that is a set distance from the edge of the screen. Making the text right justified to the edge of the screen would allow the text to expand away from the edge of the screen instead of off it; then the coin symbol should be spaced offset from the text instead of the edge of the screen.
To help with the accidental clicking issue you could have an animation for each tile where it comes out from under the sea and you have to hold the place key for "x" seconds etc.
I thought I see the ships upside down just because I'm visiting Australia
@@rpeselif you where to be from Australia, the ships should be right side up though tnis time around 🤔
Mans is really good with tiles, I guess that's why they call him Tile-er
Lmao
what this game is missing is synergies. evolution of tiles, like, a house surrounded by 3 fields becomes a farm etc.
also, the music gives me a headache after ~10 minutes, it really needs some more sounds\maybe to sound less random...
Yes, I just left a comment about maybe taking some inspiration from Islanders about how the points are given and shown, and the synergy from that game would work here too. This thing gives bonus point and this one minus. Place where you gave get the most point considering the neighbours.
Bro put a bunch of random notes into musescore
Settlers of Catan vibes from the thumbnail, you got me!
Same
Wood for sheep?
@@rebeccaconlon9743 Make it two and we have a deal
I think the already calculated values are perfectly fine, as you should be able to figure that out anyway so it just saves time. The strategy comes from overall planning and tile interactions, so you're not removing gameplay as much as just math.
yeah, I think the main issue the demo currently has is a lack of synergies and interaction, as those should be what actually really drives the strategy, not the current individual value of a given building
@@pedroff_1 It would also be nice if you could affect over time the kinds of tiles you receive in some way. Not complete control as that's not what this game is but ways to influence could make it more interesting.
Sounds like there is a synergy with mines, pyramid, and wells. Since pyramids and mines use up a "bad" land type but get bonus based on nearby buildings they could be clumped into the same area. Wells either take up "good" land type or provide less water but it seems like you end up with too many wells so putting them on sand next to pyramids while having some fields nearby might just work.
To be fair, Tyler had a boat doubling production for wells
Pyramids need adjacencies on sand specifically
i think seeing the money the tile would give you is a nice tool, the challenge is more into long time organisation rather than basic math
Australian developer, you're upside down
I love how you felt obliged to stick until the end even though you were not having a great time ahah
Agree that with more content it could work!
I think they thought "we'll just simplify Dorfromantik" and went a bit too hard on the simplifications
Edit: Also, Olexa when you read this.. have you tried to Dorfromantik board game?!
To be fair, I still enjoyed this. It’s moreso I wanted to give some quality feedback to the dev so they can make it even better.
I haven’t played the board game but it’s on my list for sure haha
@@OlexaYT gotta love the dedication, I think you gave wonderful suggestions. Well done
The game needs more competing elements, things which reward you for playing a particular way that is contrary to what other things want you to do. Some terrain placement rules or bonuses would also go a long way. Also you mentioned more things to go on mountains, but I actually think that it needs more things which compete for each tile type, and reward play in a different way. Like you have the isolated villages on deserts, but a solar farm which rewards for each adjacent solar farm or something equivellent with another name would go decent ways for deserts. Hunting grounds for forest which like log cabins or being fully surrounded by forests, etc, etc.
Visuals might need a bit of work as well. I was expecting at first to watch it slowly grow into a lovely little island by the end, but it evolved into kind of an eyesore that looks like someone slammed their face into a keyboard with the windings font on. I think a little randomness in the tiles would help a lot, maybe influenced by the surroundings to add immersion, like forests getting more dense the more tiles there are together or making the mountains connecting with each other to form a mountain range instead of whatever was going on at the top with that huge cluster of mines.
Yes, agree, the dollar should not show up on tiles, since that takes all the thinking out of the game. It should either show up when hovering over a tile or as a little pop up after you clicked and choose a tile. Im thinking now like how Islanders does it.
Like "here you can get the most points, but it may hinder you from putting another good placement after. And if you put it here, its slightly worse, but it means that you can get att better placement with your next one."
I would love if the barley filled the hexagon, I think that might look better. Right now Im getting "carpet or blanket" vibes. Also it would be oddly satisfyling to fill the whole hexagon with a placement, like filling the whole space and changing the map as youre playing.
This gives slay vibes. I love it! Similar art, the hexes of course. Slay seems like it scales in difficulty much better for a strategy game.
Avablie, upside down ships and avaible were pretty funny, though
Its because water is most likely a unlockabe tile maybe?
imma say it, exagone, ARE, BESTAGONE
god DAMN i love a good hexagon game.
It took me 3/4s of the video to realize "mine" meant diggy mine, not exploding mine 🤯
Have been watching your videos a lot lately and curious how you come across these games and how you’re able to play them before release.
Devs will send keys to me in my email but I also follow a lot of indie devs on Twitter and learn about a lot of games through there
Wells be like, I didn't want to be placed by you anyway.
Would be much more interesting if it was also an autobattler.
As always Olexa, taking notes on your thoughts
Its probably ment fresh water and not sea water
Is it hex-spire or hex-empire or hex-expire?
yuh
Olexpire
Hutts can go down here 🥰
New Water-based Hydration Comment just dropped
5th!
If thy don't show you how the tiles benefits you, all your audience will have to suffer from your calculation tho
3rd!!!
Avablie 😞
Bro made Africa
Avaible💀
It's relaxing. But I prefer games where you can win ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Avaiblie
Sub optimal gameplay. Should’ve placed that one tile next to the other tile.

meh... mediocre. maybe a little better with more content but...bland
