- Dr. Joseph Nemeth, the founder of the North American Society of Periodontists (NASP), was asked to join Randy Alvarez on the TV Program, The Wellness Hour. Tune in for an in depth interview about how Periodontists use lasers to treat gum disease.
#lanap #lasergumsurgery
Laser gum surgery is known to have better results than traditional or flap gum surgery. The main benefit of using the laser to treat gum disease is that the laser is much kinder and gentler to the patient. It is a much more comfortable option for treating gum disease.
The protocol is called LANAP, this stands for Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure.
drnemeth.com/lanap/
Laser Gum Surgery, otherwise known as LANAP is now is FDA APPROVED! With laser gum treatment, now periodontists can use the Millennium Laser to clean the tissue and stimulate growth and reattachment, treating periodontal disease.
This process is usually completed in one appointment, allowing you to return to your regular routine almost immediately.
The laser treats gum disease very effectively by using an extremely fine gold filament to go into the pocket and kill the bacteria.
LANAP is the only protocol that has been proven to cause bone and tissue regeneration that reattaches the gum tissue to the bone.

Dr. Nemeth is amazing. I’m so happy i discovered his channel. I have learned a lot since being diagnosed with periodontal disease. He made me feel hopeful again.
This is what my dentist wants me to do but he never explained the issue like you did here. I'm shocked at the living moving bacteria you showed. I realize now I need to get in there fast. I've been so sick for a year with just feeling overall bad. I've had everything checked. I bet it's this bacteria making me sick. Thank you.
This periodontist is the most thorough periodontist I've ever been to I love this man I can honestly say that he's absolutely remarkable the whole office is so professional so well-organized it is unbelievable...
Thanks so much Joe! I'm so glad we were able to help you :)
@Joe I agree!!
i know im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid forgot my password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
Dr Nemeth is so passionate about teeth & gum health.. I have learned more from his videos on how to care for my teeth than all the years of going to the dentist! He is the real deal.
What a great interview! It's quite impressive and has a lot of great information. I'm a fan!
Dr. Nemeth knows his stuff. This interviewer is also great, I have seen him interviewer experts on many med0iucal subjects, he gets great info.
WOW! Great video on Lanap. Thank you, Dr Nemeth.
Awesome news! I hope other dentists get on board ASAP
I wish with all my heart I can get to this periodontist for the lanap treatment. Such excellent doctor!
Dr Jo is the best! :) I wish he was here in the UK! :)
Teeth are made to stay in the mouth unless it gets discoloured, disfigured, or chips real bad. Once a tooth is extracted, and not filled it can make facial cheeks not only push in, but teeth shift. I'm 33 and so ready for this procedure.
Wow!! Very informative vid!!! Thank you!
You're welcome Avinia!
This video has convinced me to subscribe.
Thank you.
Amazing I just found this informative video, because, in two hours I am scheduled for LANAP.
Cheshire Grin how was the procedure? How are your teeth and gums now a days if you dont mind me asking.
who did it go?
@@dulcedominguez9495 LANAP must have gotten the better of him. People just arent helpful when they share and yet not reply.
I just had the LANAP procedure 10/29/19 at 1:00pm California time. Cost $6,500 for full mouth and with the help of insurance I pay $4,100 out of pocket. Let’s see if it’ll live up to it’s scientific research in terms of regeneration. I will let the world know how it’s working for me as the months progress. Do write me if you have any questions in regards to the procedure which I had actually gone through.
Howd it go?
@@as9050 it was ok...worst part was the needle for numbing and the scraping part....its been a year, I had a lot of 6 and 7 mm pockets, now most of them are 3 with a few 3mm pockets.
@@neeskub8088 did you get any bone regrowth at the end ?
Thank you so much for all of the information. Im a bit hesitant because of the price but im sure getting teeth removed and all that plus the cons are far worse than 6K. Thank you for replying and good luck !!!
Hi how are you now..any bone and gum regeneration?
I'm 40 and after my cleaning , my gums were badly messed up , I have pain now in my gums been 6 months, tries several antibiotics.
Pretty depressed and I would rather not be alive if I start losing teeth.
Is this basically an alternative to cavitron deep root scaling? Or is that still necessary later periodically?
Would getting my tonsils out that produced tonsil stones unless I'm on antibiotics (and even sometimes when I am) be helpful? Have you ever heard and an ENT removing tonsils for someone based on perio reasons?
Hi sir i am really in pain because of my week gums and swell please tell me something about the treatment thanks
I have a question? I need to have LANAP procedure done. But, I also need three implants. It’s been two years since and combined, it’s a big expense. None of this is covered by my insurance. Do you think it would be ok to do implants first. And do LANAP later on?
do you need pain medication after the procedure, or antibotics after surgery?
Do you push teeth back in place at the same time?
I'm scared hope it really works or my life is over I can't live this way 😢
I live in a wilmington NC. Is there a doctor here that you would recommend. I wish I could come to you.
I'm so scared my gums on 1 tooth is ate away from tobacco 😢 and if nothing can be done ill have end thing's soon the feeling is to much 😢 and also have cheek cancer and won't wanna live after reconstructive surgery I'm so sad 😢
Can someone tell me if the lanap surgery covered by insurance? Are patients able to self pay on a payment plan if they need this lanap procedure done?
Yes it should be. I had it done yesterday but I had to pay because I have an HMO and the periodontist I used was out of network. But if you have a PPO you should have some coverage. Just check your plan and look for a periodontist that performs that procedure. Not all do. Most of the dentist want to extract and give you dentures and care less about saving your teeth!!
How much is this?
Can you recommend someone in Toronto or closeby who performs LANAP?
Here is a LANAP Doctor locator, I think this may be helpful for you. www.lanap.com/patients/doctor-locator/
Hi doctor, I need your help so bad, but I'm in Virginia, I'm hoping that you might know a doctor in my area that use Lazer like you and like to save tooth, and can help me .
Hello Sue, I would love to see you at my office in Michigan! However, if you aren't able to come see me, you can use the LANAP Doctor Locator on their website. www.lanap.com/patients/doctor-locator/
I hope this helps!
@@josephrnemeth thank you so much
@@josephrnemeth i was just told that I have periodontal disease- complete shock because i dont have loose teeth, bleeding or bad breath.i would come from atlanta to michigan to get your laser treatment.i will check to see if someone here does your process- but because i see youre honest, i would call you first. hope that is ok.
Good to know. Is it covered by insurance. The LANAP OR LASER PROCEDURE
Bad breath in Canada? I hope it wasn't in West Coast Vancouver.
I see almost all positive reviews are coming from Dentist, periodontist and the company that makes the laser but have yet to see an actual patient review on youtube without all the questions from the Doctor.
We have TONS of LANAP testimonials! Most of the time, patients wont record a video themselves about their experience... unless they're avid CZcamsrs. Even then, most people don't want to admit that they had gum disease at all. Enough from me, I'll let our patients speak for themselves!

I am a patient that just had LANAP and I don't know what comes next except healing but I do know ONE thing I am in good no GREAT hands and Dr. Nemeth is going to fix my teeth.
@@JoeSmith-si7bs how are your results now, a year later?
My periodontist says bone rarely grows back after he perform a Lanap procedure. So he dont even do a second xray after a certain ammount of time.
We used to operate the same way! However now, looking at patients 1 year and 2 years post LANAP, we have seen incredible results. I think this video will be helpful for you!
czcams.com/video/xCrvukH92oM/video.html
Joseph R Nemeth DDS & Associates that’s very interesting. I guess its better to have the procedure and the bones regenerate within one or more years vs not doing anything and lose the teeth in a few years if not sooner.
@@neeskub8088 Exactly! And I bet if the LANAP worked, then you should be able to even tell or feel when you eat or floss. I am sure if it works, then there will be visible tangible improvements eg teeth that are not so loose anymore, or gaps that are smaller etc... And what's the harm of doing xray a year or two later? it is such a straightforward thing to do! Your dentist should not be so lazy!
I know I have recession but my dentist didn't believe me because I dont have bone loss and my pockets are at 3mm. Yet, I can literally see my gums getting higher and more pulled back almost every time I brush my teeth. My gums are inflamed from gingivitis, so I thought maybe it just looks like recession when really my gums are just pulling back because of inflammation. But, if that's true, wouldn't my guns go back down? My gums seem to be getting more and more pulled back and they are always inflamed. I would like to hear your thoughts on this :)))
You need to get rid of the bad bacteria in your mouth. I suggest that you use a mixture of water, salt, baking soda and iodine with your waterflosser (I used a Waterpik). This has worked for me, my gums no longer bleed, are not red and swollen and I don’t have a bad breath anymore. And after killing the bad bacteria in your mouth, I suggest you do a GBT (Guided Biofilm Therapy) scaling. You can also watch the documentary “ Bad bugs” by David Kennedy.

Why is the host look so in hurry?
The interviewer was absolutely horrible. He wasn't listening and extremely rude. The doctor is offering information that deserves to be heard. This guy was not helpful at all.
