- This week on KOKO the boys go a little loco because Taylor Swift is in town. We straighten our ties and dust off the shoulders as we put this cruel summer behind us and pen Australian Rugby a little love song.
On the show we are joined by the incumbent Wallaby and Queensland Reds number seven Fraser McReight as we break down their big win over the terrible 'Tahs, as well as all of the week one action from the Super Rugby Pacific. The fellas also take a little deep dive into Fraser’s life with a little game called “McReight or McWrong.”
Although we bleed green and gold on this show, we haven’t forgotten about our frostbitten friends in the Northern Hemisphere, as we unpack the weekend of rugby in the “Six Nations Summation.” Plus, we are joined by a very special guest and the most notable voice in rugby around the world, yes that is right, Jim Hamilton is on the show, as he blesses our pod with all of his sage wisdom, cracking stories and at the end he gets quizzical. If they stick at it their subscriber base would explode you'd think. Just need a bit more Northern H exposure. Maybe if they released the SixNations segment bit as its own video too and threw out the odd short showing the banter. It's easily the most amiable rugby show on.

I could listen to this all week, love it. I reckon Big Jim has a point about the name though it's kinda meh. The Wallaboys works or Chilled Wallaboys or The Wallocx Gig or Load of old Wallox. You could sell off your current T Shirts as a "must have keep in the pack collectors item" when you change the name. Only the current 6K subscribers can buy them when you relaunch the name and you will sign a few of them randomly because you luvs us sooooo much. Sorted. As a Scotland supporter Jim represents the bad times. Needed English players to fill the squad but they'd be players who wouldn't get anywhere near the England squad. Now at least our foreign born players are decent, even if we'll never get a Grand Slam with out without them. It's nice to not wonder how many you're gonna lose by.
But as an Irish man who lived in Eng who has relations in UK who dream would have loved to play for Irl and would support irl in all sport, is big Jim not just English by accident of birth. His heart seemed always in it wrt Scotland.
@@daithipol Obviously he says that now and I don't doubt what he once believed - who am I to say otherwise. I'm also not putting him down but he wasn't good enough to play for England snr. He played for England u19/21 though, played most of his career in England apart from a short run at Edinburgh but this was after he first played for Scotland.
So I'm sure he has a Bonnie Scotland tattoo and feels more connected to his dad's Scottish side rather than his mum's English side. But he wasn't homegrown talent and Scotland were desperate for anything they could get. I don't mean to bad mouth Jim specifically.

re Jim McHamilton, just hilarious that the Scots are still moaning about 'the try that never was'...the 'fan slam' lolol...get over yourselves - if you need the ref making a coin flip decision to win then you don't get to bitch and moan...take ownership of your own performance. The greatest squad I have seen Scotland have in over 35 years - I am including their 1990 Grand Slam winning side - and yet they have won sod all.

can I be honest, can any Scotland fan think, yeah we have a great team when they have 20 imports, as a Welshman if we had to bring in 20 foreign players that wouldn't be my Welsh team any more. I understand the need to fill a few key positions as a small nation its sometime a necessity, but more importantly it highlights the issues with grassroots rugby in Scotland and allowing that abuse of bringing in talent hides the issues that NEED to be addressed.
Sounds like sour grapes....maybe it is....not really, stats wise we should have beaten them with a new developing team so I'm happy how Wales are progressing, I'm just more concerned for real Scottish rugby. It would be interesting to see a real conversation around how importing players effects Scottish rugby overall
As a Scotsman I see your point, I've lived more than half my life here in England , so not 100% in touch with what is happening back in the auld country , however it is plain to see to that there is a problem with the grass roots game , I think they mentioned on tv that the France game was the first time in over a hundred years that no players from the Scottish borders had represented Scotland, , as much as the results have been very good , it really doesn't feel like a Scottish team at times
