Iâve been watching your channel for years now and I have to say youâre so inspiring. Iâve always wanted to learn new languages and move out of the US too but I thought it was just a dream however seeing you be afraid and yet trying so many new things anyway has woken me up and now I find myself learning Japanese, trying to move to Spain and focusing on traveling the world so thank you, I donât think I wouldâve had the courage to go for it without seeing your journey
That's so cool! I am also trying to move to Spain in the future and have tried learning japanese before. How are you trying to move to Spain? What are you gonna do when you move there?
I'm spanish and live in Spain. Why do you guys want to move to Spain?
@@gmrjb105 My grandfather is from Madrid, I studied abroad there and fell in love with the country, also I am from Puerto Rico so I feel closer to Spanish culture than USA culture
@@alonsoJ2002 oh okay. I live in Madrid. It's a great city!
Hey!! A girl from Barcelona here, let me know if I can be of help! Lets build this beautiful community one by one! âš
I just love your mom's energy. Your parents are amazing.
Love to see the pride in your smile through the progress of completing Atelier LutĂšce. It feels like a start of something great.
yes!! It's coming to life!!!
So glad I found your channel this morning! I love your heart. It comes through in all 3 of your videos Iâve so far⊠Einstein, complicated Romance, and now renovating an apt in Paris! May I suggest ârough hewnâ as the style of your table? Masculinity and strength. Love your parentsâ youthfulness & enthusiasm! Iâm 70 & wish I could meet an older version of you. Iâd be smitten! Gotta run. Heading into yoga class! Be well and stay true to yourself. You are like a breath of fresh air!
Careful what you keep in the 'cave' - my experience is the humidity eventually destroys most things stored there!
really enjoyed the way the video is edited, humorous, showing some personality, but serious when it needs to be, great balance! great story telling :)
Heâs so good at storytelling and brining you into his world. I love it đ
Was just thinking this as well. Itâs 21mins long but it was edited so incredibly well, I had no idea that much time had passed!
A lot of people who watch renovation videos on YT love process or in between footage. We want to see everything you're willing to show!
Paris, minimalism, Nathaniel Drew, his parents, and Thomas from YesTheory all in one video. Can't get better than that!
They're neighbours now đ
You have an incredible gift for storytelling. Please donât ever take it for granted :)
There has always been a certain quality that I can't describe about these videos. Just fabulous and great story-telling
Yoo that's what I've always said... The only way I can describe ND's videos is that they are like breathing fresh air through your eyeballs
Great description!
Itâs so beautiful. I would love for your grandmother to see the place. Iâm sure your family is very proud of you. But her opinion would be GOLDEN.
wow I love your mom. just her creative thoughts exploding is amazing to watch
Nathaniel, your joy (despite the hurdles and challenges) just leaps from the screen! Iâve been following your journey for years and I feel so happy and excited for you. Take your time and enjoy the process, remind yourself that youâll only ever get to renovate your first apartment, for the first time, ONCE. I went through many of the challenges that youâre going through now, when I first started renovating my first house. 20 years later, I look on that time with such fondness. I learned a lot of new skills, and more importantly; I learned so much about myself. Thanks for taking me along on your journey, Tracy đ„°
One can be a party, if you do it right. Your apartment is looking and feeling just right. Good things do take time; but they are worth the wait.
100% agree. If it were not so I wouldn't have a social life at all.
By far my favorite Nat'l Drew video yet! Congrats, so happy for you. ENJOY!
You have my utmost sympathy - my husband and I have been living through a gut kitchen/downstairs bathroom/mudroom renovation since May...and probably still another month to go. It will be a long time before I order take out or eat in a restaurant, once this is over. But today, I take joy in seeing plaster going up. You have to enjoy the pockets of progress wherever you can.
Suerte, suerte, suerte - can't wait to see the rest of the transformation unfold.
Love this video! I am an interior designer & what I always tell clients--what I know in my core--is that the space you live in, everything about that space (color, texture, forms, shapes, light, etc.) impacts you physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually. Your environment must be a reflection of you. Nobody comes to your home to have an experience of Architectural Digest. They come to have an experience of you. Additionally the functionality of your space must be a match for the way you live. If you are passionate about cooking & spend a lot of time in your kitchen don't use real marble. It is high maintenance & stains easily. Instead use a quartz based product like Silestone. It will wear forever, it won't stain, very low maintenance, equivalent cost & the quartz is anti-bacterial. So relax a bit, try to enjoy the process, take your time. Ask questions, talk to professionals, check out options. Life is always about the process--not just the result. That is sometimes hard for artists to wrap their head around. At least it has been for me.
YES to the importance of living in beautiful surroundings! When I've expressed this to non-artists I think they sometimes misperceive it as shallowness, but I am as moved by a $3.00 thrift store cup or a literal stone picked up by the side of the road as any of my more expensive items. Some people seem genuinely impervious to ugly environments, but I suspect that even for many non-artists, there is a subliminal magic to being immersed in a beautiful space. âŽâ€âŽKudos for prioritizing this for yourself!
Nathaniel, as a 67 year old woman (I've been around the block ) I can tell you life will always be a WIP. Look forward to your progress.
i love when u mentioned your videos being 'art' and not just 'content'. An amazing perspective i think we all should have :)
Your parents are SO darling. I lived for twenty five years in Buenos Aires and Bariloche. Now I live in Barcelona. Love Paris, do not speak French so almost never go there, also, SO expensive compared to Spain. Your place looks like a GORGEOUS dreamâŠLove your videos. Thanks so much.
Omg your place is heavenly. I sending you love, patience and strength for your renovations. Your parents are amazing. I watched your dad vlog and the last one had me in tears of joy. Keep being positive. In the end, there is a wonderful light after all that hard work - it is call your happiness. â€ïž
Congratulations on this very busy season of life you've had! I hope fall and winter will be filled with rest, love, an friendship in your beautiful, well-deserved sanctuary. :)
Peace,
Laura
I'm with you and your mother: Home has to be a beautiful, inspiring place! That notion looks different for everyone. If one dreads going home, something is wrong. Love the kitchen!
The progress and the process are awesome Nathaniel. The apartment is already looking great. I think you are so lucky to be getting loads of generous help from the people who love you. It is going to be amazing.
Thank you for bringing us along on this transformational journey, literally and figuratively. I so appreciate that you share your personal growth because you transfer that insight and awareness to some of your viewers. Your videos exude your energy and enthusiasm. I am super excited for you, but also excited to be in beautiful Paris because of you.
This appart needs a library and artwork too, plants if you like them. Le parquet est magnifique !
Place is looking great so far. You'll get there soon enough my friend. I've been working on my apartment for two years. And trust me, you'll switch things up as you go.
Congrats on making Paris home. My 22 years here ends next week and I hope your next 22 years here will be as wnderful as mine were. Looking forward to your next story!
You are glowing and your smile is infectious throughout this video. It's so exciting to see the artist space come together and so cool to hear you philosophizing about the renovation process!
What a poetic name as Atelier LutĂšce. I think you really embody the journey of many people over the centuries moving to Paris - your apartment is a place to create and to thrive in community with other artists and free-thinkers. Thank you for sharing your "nid" - love it!
Wow what ambition!! Beautiful flat, it deserves a makeover. Glad that CZcams can help you get the income to budget for this exciting reno !
Love your mom and dadâŠand your dad and I are on the exact same page about foodâŠI have the same gleam in my eyes when Iâm having an amazing mealâŠoff to Barcelona in October and already mapping out my meals.
your parents are precious, please cherish them
I don't think there is any other person i have ever watched on youtube that so consistently makes me smile from ear to ear with their infectious energy, love ya mate!
I started following your channel when the minimalism movement was taking hold. I've grappled with minimalism and maximalism over the years, and I've coming to realize the importance of enjoying beauty and harvesting life's pleasures. Here's to the ongoing journey of living intentionally.
Esa esla mejor forma de conocer tu casa, y de disfrutarla: saber cĂłmo se hizo todo, haber pegado los azulejos tĂș mismo...
You are so right - the place where you live energizes the things you create. Great choice on the NE side of Sacre Coeur, just a stroll from "The only street in Paris" (R. de Martyrs). Bon courage.
Take your time and take us along with you...it is so much more real. It's so easy to desire the final end product (NOW!), but then you do not get to celebrate and absorb each little victory. I am 75 and just began powerlifting. I would love to be instantly transformed, but I've realized taking it slow and savoring each little victory as I inch forward with my personal records is much more satisfying as I learn along the way. BTW, been watching you for a couple of years and I love EVERY video!
How lovely to see someone actualising their desires! Couldn't help but smile for you at 2:08 when you got all excited because it was your first night in the apartment. So vulnerable and relatable!
Yeah, itâs the beauty of Paris that is energizing: the human scale, the neoclassical geometries in the public spaces, the colors and natural setting and how the buildings adapt. Enjoy the process, for sure. Cheers all the best
it's way more rewarding to observe an imperfect process, than a finished, sparkling result. struggling is human, and I think that are the videos that are enjoyed most.
It's amazing how we are going through (literally) the exact same situation.
I've been moving from Argentina to Portugal since the beginning of the year, and experienced the same... "excitement" that you have been going through. Ever since that first moment when we got the news for the visa and residence. Literally the same experience.
I'm also doing it with the help of my parents, and it's teaching me so much. Being able to watch your videos about this change it's like talking with a friend that gets all the jokes you tell him.
I'm also here to pursue my dream of "living the life that I want to live". So I'm grateful to you, because you have also inspired me to do my best.
It important to note that, our process has been so similar that you bought THE EXACT SAME COFFE MACHINE that I bought. Please, tell me more about coincidences.
Anyways, thank you for sharing this kind of content with people. I really believe you are making a difference.
You could definitely add some vintage. Go down to the thrift and buy some knobs, lamps and candleholders. Don't forget a few plants.
Wow! How joyous this episode was. Thank you Nathaniel! Keep us posted as your Atelier evolves. :)
I watched the video of you buying this apartment, just as I bought mine too, and watching this video few months later, siting in my apartment that's still not finished and is under renovation after so many delays and complications is actually so comforting. Wishing you all the luck in making your dream homeâ€ïž
Quel courage, I admire it. And sometimes it gets time to figure details out, one day it clicks on your head and you just know you found it
There is something about Paris and itâs petite flats. We stayed in Rue Bonaparte a higher floor with a cute elevator too. Was surprisingly quiet, you were right to buy it!
Your motherâs SMILE!!!!! Oh my gawd!!!
Your eyes are spanking with joy and excitement âšïž you passed through so many challenging trails and hardships to achieve your goals. You deserve the best. Tu mĂ©rite que du bonheur, je suis fiĂšre de toiđ.
So attractive and beautiful to see your passion and mind working behind the scenes of what you've created for yourself
He estado viendo tus videos hace un par de meses, en un momento en el que todo estĂĄ cambiando en mi vida, y he de decir que me inspiras mucho. Gracias por compartir todo esto!!
Loved the crazy look of enthusiasm on your face as you said how much you enjoyed the process. Made me enthusiastic about my life too.
11:48 is some real shit.I live in London, people glamorize big city's but the truth is if your living standards are low its shitty.
i found this video randomly AND I'm so happy I did! You're amazing, can't wait for the next video
Beautiful apartment! Your smile is always so luminescent
I love your moms reactions, about the toilet and my compliments she has good taste maybe she can inspire me. I find it harder when you live in a rental home you cant change much
Ahh Nathan, so good! I appreciate your views on art & beauty & their massive importance on wellbeing. And I too canât stand the term âcontent creatorsâ!!!!! Also watching your parents moving journey is like my husband & I looking in the mirror! Keep creating beautiful artful stories of the human experience xx
That is already beautiful - it's going to be spectacular and so comfortable as well as beautiful. You're going to love it, and I think you're right, homes probably do evolve continually over time - but you'll get it to a point where you'll be happy with it for now, and now may be quite a long time in the end. đ
Daaamn dude your are living the Parisian dream. It's so pretty! Well done and well deserved đ
I'm super happy for you. I think you are right, an open empty room is so full of endless possibilities and creating it, is art!
I love how passionate you are about the Sodastream⊠I totally relate too, I love mine⊠it never gets old fizzing it, itâs so oddly satisfying! Your Atelier looks incredible too.. congratulations!
Having just finished renovations on my own parisian apartment, the video totally gave me PTSD and lots of laughs. It is all worth it in the end. Your mom is lovely :D Also... flea markets!
Thank you, Nathaniel, for taking us on this incredible journey of yours. We're all excited to see what else you make of this incredible space and the future collaborations you have with your fellow artists!
I really love these apartment episodes. I would love it if Tomas showed us his apartment and how far he has come, or if he would let you briefly show it in some of your episodes! It would be really nice to see since you're next-door neighbours, and apart from Yes Theory and Seek Discomfort episodes we don't get to see much of his personal life and space, try to convince him! :D
I love how vulnerable, open, and excited you are about life. I could truly watch your videos all day. Not to mention the incredible art put into your filming, and how well spoken and comfortable you make people feel through a screen! Thank you for sharing đ€
You are correct, patience and a sense of adventure are valuable lessons. We are 4 years into a 6 year renovation and find challenges everyday. But, beauty also! Love your choices so far.
As a new Parisian myself, and aspiring content creator ; I admire the storytelling, the transparency and the quality of this âParis apartmentâ series. Keep up the good work and the positivity ! Loving it ! â€ïž
Excellent video, Nathaniel, so inspiring. I would like to see more of your paints! Congrats on the apartment/atelier.
You've been a huuge inspiration to my channel and I hope to one day reach this level of editing!
Omg Leah! So happy to see content creators getting together. Congrats on this journey Nate! Atelier LutĂšce looking good
Every new video is so damn refreshing! You really take the person by their imagination to your rollercoaster world.
For 21 minutes, I was pretty invested. I was randomly watching stuff on CZcams, I saw this and brought my AirPods for complete immersion.
This is something that has truly inspired me. Next month I'll be moving to Madrid and of course, buying a house isn't that easy but seeing you buy one, that's one incredible journey to be on and makes me excited for fine.
Been a long-time fan of your art and FML, at this point, I sound like a crazy fanboy but when there's something good, gotta appreciate it.
Keep up the good work!đ
Nathaniel really had a dream and actually went for it; I admire that.
"Art and beauty in general is a huge piece of the meaning of life" ...this made me cry tears of joy. I said "YESSS" out loud. I've fought the idea that beauty is shallow but honestly, surrounding myself with beautiful things and people who are beautiful inside is absolutely essential to my well being. And luckily we can find beauty in many ways. Thanks for that Drew!
How much I appreciate your approach to the work you are responsible for.Keep going forward to new beginnings, as you mentioned everything goes step-by-step đđ» wish you good luck and patience with your renovations
I discovered this channel not long ago and I just love it! Thank you for sharing your journey! đđ”đ·đ
Been through a few renovations now and can confirm: you're almost never "done" with a renovation!!! That being said, LOVE the details you are putting in. Such a great mix of classic / traditional european styles while also being super modern. Can't wait to see it continue to evolve. Well done!
Nathaniel I've been through this twice (in Europe). Rule of thumb - everything takes 3 times longer than expected regardless of how simple. Also perfect is unreachable, enjoy the journey and congratulations. :)
Thank you Nathaniel for taking us on this journey with you!
Congrats to the final touches to your apartment. One of the reasons I was able to start over and take the leap was because your channel.
I currently just left my 9-5 job, moved to London and got a flat of my own. Itâs been a crazy experience nonetheless. Beautiful things take time, so I just want to take the time to appreciate the work you put out. Everything on this channel has been captured so beautifully and I canât wait to see/support all your future milestones along the way.
Your energy and cinematics are so good man.
having your own home is priceless.
Wuaooo Incredible!!!!
Congratulations! This is a huge accomplishment specially in this city!!
Super inspiring!!!
Hey, Nat! I relate to you when you said you are a very impatient person that wants things now. Just wanna say thank you for reminding me that all good things take time.
Thanks for sharing this! Great to get updates and see that youâre doing so well!
I am loving this series! A little advice; when furnishing a new place, take it slowly. Live in the place and see what you need from it, it will help you make better purchases!
As another experiencing all these feelings this year, this video was cathartic. Seeing you capture and express in such a beautiful way an enclosure of wood, drywall, wires, and pipes teach you many lessons. Make you frustrated, cry, and exhausted. Reminding us how hard it is to get to that destination you want with something that on the outside seems so simple. I have remodeled 3 rooms so far in 8 months. Living in the mess is so hard. Controlling the dust even harder. Doing it while you have a job, other goals you work towards, enjoying life and spending enough time with people you care about, I have become amazed with cities. They have so many buildings of imense size that are less than 100 years old. It's hard enough to make a rectangular prism stand on its own, humans took the extra time to make extravagant works of art out of these domiciles.
Your energy, story-telling and way of editing videos is so inspirational to me. Great vid, you're really an artist!
Okay, so where do I start? There are a limited number of bright stars on CZcams. Their content is almost guaranteed to inspire and brighten your day. You, Sir, are one of those bright stars. You have the uncanny ability to transport viewers to exactly where you are (feels like Iâm in Paris now actually) Your frank, deep and transcendental discussions are first class. I think itâs that honesty and candidness that draws viewers to your channel. Good luck with all of your future endeavours.
Looks so good man, youâre doing awesome đđ»
Your mom is so cute! And those floors are amazing
Beautiful. Seeing you with your parents is such a gift!! âșïž
this was so fun and exciting to watch, ive been watching your channel for years and you really look so happy, I will hopefully be moving to Paris in September to study French (as a foreign languague) and you have really sold it to me, thank you for sharing your journey! cant wait to see more of you in
paris :)
Nathaniel got me quitting my job to move to Europe đ
Thatâs awesome! I wish you the best đ
Thatâs awesome congrats đ
âGood things take timeâ thatâs true!
Wow. What an inspiration!! Iâve always dreamed of living in Paris. I think Iâll be making serious plans to make it happen now.
Your apartment looks great. I like the airy and calm vibe.
Great video, so fun to watch the progress! And you seem really happy and energized by the process!!đ„łđ„ł
ahhhh! it is really coming together. I can't wait to see it in person someday all updated - so fun to see everything you walked us through happening for real! loved this video
Seeing the update and I love the new walls in your bed roomđ„°
Duuuuuude it's the first time I hear you and ur dad talk. What a sorprise un argentino!! PS. sos un genioo!
Loving seeing this and just learned this lesson myself. Last year started a gut Reno (sans bathroom) of my small studio apt and it took more than twice as long as I had planned, and it still isnât done even though Iâve moved back in. Thereâs so much tedious work that goes into renovations that you donât think about or donât think will take as long, but every step and detail matters. Totally worth all the hard work considering how much time we spend in our homes! Canât wait to see your next update
