      His vulnerability is so organically human that no matter who you are, you can see yourself in him. That’s a power that not many beings have the opportunity to tap into but Nathaniel makes it seem so tangible. I’m inspired, encouraged, & enlightened by his honesty & willingness to share the imperfections that many of us feel that we are safer by hiding. Every single video of his that I’ve watched has gifted me with joy & understanding.
      Keep being phenomenal, Nathaniel! 🙏🏾✨

    Nathaniel is literally a CZcamsr that I strive to be like. I'm 28 and life hit me pretty hard after high school. I used to live in Miami being around street violence, guns, death, and I even used to eat $3 a day, 25 cents noodles, expired toast and canned Campbell tomato soup. I survived the Boston Marathon Bombing which was a few feet away and I saw all the blood the people screaming and I was alone at 18. I also used to live in a room with no kitchen, trash bag as a window and bugs crawling on me at night. I also took boxing to protect myself and learned how to defend against bigger threats. Now I live in a nordic wood cabin in the north of Sweden where I go down to a lake to breathe and heal my past and I post on CZcams to help others who need it the most 🙏🏽💜

    • @michalsoldat8548
      @michalsoldat8548 Před rokem +4

      I have lived in Vienna for 35 years. A lot has changed during this time. Vienna is still a beautiful city, but the influence of the European Union is starting to shrink everything and it starts to get interesting. Only a few of us are talking about it, but I have the impression that politicians are to blame for many failures in "Europe". For example Angela Merkel has absolutly failed! She let in a lot of refugees who were only interested in our social system. There were no consequences for her or other interested parties. I have the impression that it is done deliberately. The biggest problem is that they have built a system in which they are practically non-contactable and they do not want us to live better, they only want them to live better. If you are rich you earn with them. If you're poor it doesn't get fun. the cold war now being waged on Ukraine's soil is being used to take money out of people's pockets. Exactly the same with Corona! The state pumped money into this shit to let us citizens pay it back. but no one asked us for our opinion. We were all just idiots?! Meanwhile we know that Corona was a joke.

    I've watched a fair number of your videos since the beginning and was a fan. I don't know what it is but lately the videos have seemed repetitive and don't seem to resonate as much. There's always talk of searching for clarity but it's always very vague - understandable because who really knows what clarity looks like? However, in this video, you talk about pain being a unifier, creating common bonds and the discussion here seems very superficial and as a whole is a reflection of the demographic of your "salons." In all honesty, these salons of "great thinkers" are just a very pretentious framing of conversations with ordinary people, friends- friends who seem to look like you, a group of 20 somethings who likely come from a similar socio-economic and ethnic background. People have their struggles and by no means am I invalidating the struggles that you might face but this conversation lacked the depth that you seem to convince yourself of - there is real pain felt by people of incredibly difficult backgrounds that extends beyond the superficial treatment it received in this video here and without opening those conversations to those people, your idea of what hard times are, is incredibly limited and can seem a little tone deaf. I get that as a 20-something with your own house in Paris, you're unlikely to speak to a 40 year old parent struggling to make ends meet or someone entrenched in a system of racism or sexism. I just don't see how you're challenging your existing worldview. The videos talk a lot of these abstract, vague ideas with very little focus and action in an effort to appear intellectual. It's very easy to talk endlessly about a topic, much more difficult to do. I encourage you to look beyond your current bubble and actually challenge your worldview instead of talking endlessly about it. Stop framing everything as a hyper-intellectual salon with great artists, philosophers or thinkers - at the end we're all just people with common struggles and if you open yourself up honestly, I think the conversations you can have could be so much more meaningful. I get that you made this video with the tourism board but framing the video in the way you did was super contrived and in my opinion, completely missed the mark when it came to talking about pain and hard times- it just felt like 17 minutes of self-aggrandizement

      The cinematography is quite good but it doesn't mask that fact.

    • @Magdalena-mo7jy
      @Magdalena-mo7jy Před rokem +173

      I disagree. I feel like the most freeing and powerful story is to tell your own story. And sure, the deeper you go, the better, but being 20-something a trying to figure things out, that's the best story you can tell, cause it's yours. And other people, who face different things, like struggeling to parent, to make ends meet, facing abuse, racism and so on, those poeple can be then inspired to tell their stories. So keep telling your story, keep searching for yourself, and not for the version you should be. I am inspired by seeing you being yourself to be myself. 🙂 thank you!

      @sirlaotse Před rokem +48

      It's easy to fall on repetitive topics when your content is so oriented to explain the world through your vision. I think what Nathaniel needs is to explore other matters an bring variety to his channel

    • @jx1114
      @jx1114 Před rokem +71

      @@Magdalena-mo7jy I understand where you're coming from and speaking as a 20-something, we all have the tendency to feel as if we're the main character. Like I said, I'm not trying to discount his struggles but he rehashes the same thing without actually pushing himself to understand the world around him like he purports to be doing. This also ignores that people from disadvantaged backgrounds are often not afforded a voice or the same reach and they tend to not have their stories heard the same way people who look like Nathan do. While I do admire self-reflection, I do think that pushing yourself to understand others that are markedly different from you breeds a level of empathy and compassion that has a real impact on the world - even though it may seem as though we're insignificant and don't have any control. But this requires you to look outward and have difficult conversations with others instead of constantly focusing on your own importance or living in a bubble of people who look and think like you. In my opinion, these are the conversations that help you grow as a person, that inform your morals, that inform who you want to be and how you can have a real impact on your community.

    Love this video, I really relate with how you said it's hard to believe there are other people from places you never would have thought felt and think the same as you do. I'd thought for a long time that not that many people are pondering the same questions as me you just have to find them.

    Hi this is probably the best video for me that you have produced. I’m craving interaction like this and will be on a quest to find Salons in the United States. If I can’t find it I guess I’ll need to create it. Thank you so much for sharing your discovery and finding the strength to be so raw.

    I was so surprised when you said you're going to Vienna to find your answers. I'm from Vienna myself and you captured the city beautifully ! You also played my most listened song :) it's amazing how you bring people together. You even inspired me in your last video, which was filmed in Paris, to go there. I booked the trip the same day !

    We are a part of this great resignation. During the pandemic we realised how much we miss going to places and connecting with different people and their cultures. We have now dived into creating for CZcams full-time and it safe to say there has been a fair amount of good pain going on.😅😋All in the game though, right? ☺
    We loved watching that bit with Lucas. Friends you stand by you and push you to try crazy fun things are the absolute-frickin-best!😃 Your videos are so full of insight, they capture so well the inner struggles of our emotional lives through storytelling and conversations. It feels like a contemporary archive of our generation's messy human existence. Like imagine people 10 years from now finding this and going, that's what people were thinking of in 2022. 🙌🙂Thank you again for your openness and honesty!
    Much love from Bangalore, India

    I feel that with the pandemic especially, the magnitude and diversity of struggle and hardship experienced is impossible group into one. Some of us scraped by inside without losing a single person we know while others watched their countries collapse, families disappear, and governments dissolve to chaos. I’m not saying any piece of work will resonate with all people nor does it have the responsibility to do so, but I can’t help but think we can learn and grow from hard times without thinking it was important for it to be this way. That two contradicting truths can exist at the same time. It’s easy for the unscathed to reflect on a year of lockdown and say, it happened for a reason! But I’m sure that same logic falls flat when someone’s family has turned into gravestones. I really appreciate the vigor with which you’d like to capture the emotions in the human experience, but I would love to see a greater range of that human experience captured. A less rosy, more realistic and empathetic picture that feels more akin to what we see when we look around.

Last week I did talk about that with two of them. You just gave me the little push that will make me commit to this once a season (to start). Merci de l' Italie

    By cultivating a positive mindset and seeking lessons in difficult experiences, we can find meaning and purpose even in the darkest moments. The secret lies in our ability to adapt, learn, and remain hopeful despite the hardships. Moreover, the video's message of finding support in our communities and fostering meaningful connections is essential. During hard times, leaning on others for encouragement and understanding can make all the difference in our ability to thrive. This video serves as a source of motivation and encouragement for anyone facing challenges. It reminds us that every setback is an opportunity to rise stronger, wiser, and more resilient than before.

    One of the modern day salons in a way is CZcams. People sharing their art and ideas. Only part lack is ppl getting together. You could argue that CZcams is a community, but it’s not the same as talking to someone and smelling the person’s bad breath during the conversation hahaha.

    I like to think that hard times is the call to adventure we decline at first because of the fear of uncertainty of what's to come if we decide to face them, eventually we step up to the challenge & return to where we once where, as a changed person. Idk pretty much the cycle of the hero's journey
