Honestly it's such a shame about the lack of bicep swivels and ankle joints...it takes away a lot from posing an otherwise excellent bang for your buck release. I wonder if they'll ever do a 2.0 of this Samus when / if it stops being a Walmart Exclusive.
ive been wanting cheap figures of the original N64 Smash roster to emulate the game's graphics, this Samus fits the bill perfectly

@@WWE_AEW well my local Walmart super center just rearranged the toy section but yes it was beside the Mario 4 inch figures they had a Separate peg just for the Zelda link and Metroid figures! 👽🛸
I'm considering on modifying Samus. Plenty of room to cut biceps and insert piece to give swivel. The figure can get painted for detail,

I still have two versions of the Jakks' Samus, including the inaccurate Gravity Suit since I was offered them by a family member. I still have both of them in box. For those on a tight budget, this is pretty much the best alternative. But the Metroid fans will not want something "cheap" since Goodsmile/MaxFactory made the Figma Samus over and over... and Dread Samus will be shipped by the end of the year if there's no delay (and I have it on preorder because I don't have a GOOD Samus figure yet). If the figure had any swivel and hinge instead of the double joints for the arms and legs, this would have been an instant "try to find and buy" for me. Plus the buttefly joints are nice, but the lack of "rocker" ankles is really disappointing. I see what Hasbro does with its Vintage Collection of Star Wars with the details and articulations so this Samus isn't worth it yet... Yes, it is a step up for Jakks. Is it good? Heh, not really.

They added butterfly joints
They gave her double jointed elbows
AND they specifically sculpted her hand so she could have it around her arm cannon...
But they didn't give her the ever essential bicep swivel so she could actually be posed with her hand on her arm cannon?
Wtf?
It's so frustrating! She could've been a nice affordable alternative to Figma Samus!
Heck the marvel legends articulation is the standard now

How tall is in inches? 4"?
I hope Jakks dose the Kongs, like Dixie, Tiny, Kiddy, Chunky and Lanky and also a deluxe side Ridley and Keraid from Metroid

I like this look, compared to the world of nintendo version, but they did do a good design on Samus

Walmart they have a new breath of the wild link and Zelda in this wave too!
I just want them to release a legacy Zelda line, so we can get classic versions of Link and Ganon.
THis is a really nice surprise - the older figure was cool but the articulation was a bit naff. This desperately needs metallic paint but that's an easy fix.

She needs arm and leg swivels
The sculpt is better in some ways and worse in others compared to the old one.
Like there's barely any detail in the helmet and torso that was in the old one but the arms and legs do look better.
I think I might get one just because... It kind of feels like an old aliens kenner toy which for Metroid it's appropiate.
I really wish we could get a decent samus for 20-30$ jakks really needs a collector line of figures this one just feels lazy.
