Audi S Tronic is by far the best transmission I’ve ever had it’s leaps and bounds ahead of everything else. In automatic mode you can feel the gears shifting automatically but it’s such a smooth transition in so quick and then of course tip Tronic gives you all the benefits of driving a manual But much faster shipping there’s no clutch just keep your foot on the gas and shift
We have two VAG cars. A Skoda Octavia DSG and an Audi TT [auto]. Skoda is clearly a DSG, but because Audi have offered 'Multitronic' (CVT) and 'S Tronic' (DSG) [and previously 'Tiptronic' (torque converter auto)], because to the driver they operate in the same way, and because there is nothing in the car's paperwork to confirm which my car is equipped with, the problem is finding out for certain if your car is 'Multitronic' or 'S Tronic', and finding that out seems to be difficult! Nowhere can I find a definitive list of which cars were equipped with which boxes.
Can you engage/disengage tiptronic while driving or do you have to be at a stand still to engage/disengage? (Bought my first Audi today so I’m still learning)
This video is about S-tronic (DSG). 'Tiptronic is a completely different gearbox. Are you sure you have 'tiptronic' (Traditional auto with torque converter)?
Sorry to be so off topic but does someone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost my password. I appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Bruce Salvador Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Can anybody answer me some stronic concerned questions please? 1) Can I change D to S and back to D during driving without any other steps? 2) What if I'm in situation, where I'm accelerating a little and "need" a downshift? Can I use paddle to shift down while pushing the gas pedal without causing any harm to the transmission? 3) In manual mode I'm pulling up the car on a light stop. Can I stop the car on 2nd gear and then downshift to 1st gear when the car is stationary? Or should I shift to 1st gear sooner due to RPM? 4) Is it normal to hear the shift from 2nd to 3rd gear with no load? Can't hear any other gear change other than 2 to 3 and even that is with almost no load. Under the load everything is silent and all I can hear is the exhaust. Only 70k km on the gearbox so far. If the described situation isn't completely normal, what is to blame? Mechatronic part? 5) Should the transmission be completely smooth in a car from 2010? Sometimes when the car goes without pushing the gas pedal I can notice a little lagging on the 2nd gear. I can imagine this is a nature of the older automatics transmissions, just wanna know :-) Thanks, P.
1) Yes 2) The computer is very smart about not damaging any parts, whatever you do it won't harm the car, if you try to do something harmful, computer just won't do it so don't worry about, you can downshift whenever you want, you will sometimes feel a very slight delay 3) 3) you can stop in 2nd or shift in 1st, howrber you like, the computer might downshift on its own if the rpm goes too low for that gear, as i previously said it will never let you damage the car, even in manual mode 4) it's normal
So today I tried Sport mode in my 2014 Q5 TFSI and it didn’t seem to shift up when I pushed the stick forward , do I have to press the lock button on the side of the stick or just simply push the stick ?
this ppl keep saying automatic when its actually semi-automatic....does anyone know if there can be an paddle shift conversion for an ACTUAL automatic transmission vehicle?
No, automatic transmissions work based on a very different principle. It's kind of old school technology. The newest "automatic" transmissions could be found on CVT systems. And some of these can incorporate paddle shifts to emulate gear changes. Automatic transmissions where designed for comfort not for performance. Double clutch transmissions are based on racing behaviour and use more of a racing technology approach.
Many traditional hydraulic auto transmissions now come with paddle shifters. The problem is that such transmissions don't react fast enough to your input from the paddles. The only traditional hydraulic transmission that is almost as fast as twin clutch ones is the excellent ZF8 used in many BMWs and Alfa Giulia.
I got Audi A4 2006 whit only 120000 and transmission gray is always confusing and scared me , every thing in Audi perfect but transmission is fucked is bullshitt

Awesome
s.tronic amazing

You can indeed engage/disengage while driving. Great for overtaking.
As stated by @staffie1uk, you can certainly engage and disengage while driving.

@@AndrewVanDay I feel so stupid yeah I have a DSG hahaha took me so long to figure out lol
Comprehensive
Mines start at M8
Oh chaudhary
So you cant rev into the red with s tronic or did i get that wrong?
I' wondering about the same thing. When will it shift "automatically" in manual mode?
@@adamfazekas1895 I do believe that you can deactivate that feature, but not sure tho
You could get to red in some models. Some aftermarket tunes allow for a higher rev in a manual mode as well.
So i can drive the care always in the triptonic?
If you want to shift, yes!
Why does the car always feel like its braking when im not even pressing on the brake lever
Anonymous Capybara turn off the electronic parking brake.
It could be your engine downshifting and that is called engine braking
its normal in low speeds , its called the engine braking
I just bought a used 2011 Audi A3 sport, does this still apply to that old of a model?
Yes, all s tronics are the same
salve la mia audi a4 con cambio.automatico consuma molto gasolio . come posso.ridurre tale problema
I wish they gear knob shifted up if pulled back, and shift up when pushed forward. It is almost impossible to relearn this lol
Think you can swap the switches round so it pulls back to shift up 👀 might be wrong but I'm sure it saw it somewhere

@Bruce Salvador It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D

It it is moved over into the (+/-) you should be able to shift by moving up or down.
I have automatic cars driving license. can I drive audi with 7-speed S Tronic transmission?
Jajajajja enserio preguntas eso teniendo el carnet de coches automaticos? Donde ganaste ese carnet en la tombola xd
So i dont have to push the shifter forward itll go from m1 to m2 automatically right?
Only if you are in the manual mode
Smoth 😂😂😂😂😂
Audi needs stick shifts people in american want stick shifts true standard transmission.
Wat?
Most people want them, but wont buy them.
I prefer standard automatic tranny and if available manual tranny all the way

Same man the s-tronic just weird it make noises when shifting and its jerky
Chal cheti ponk
so lame, just get a manual
Have u drove an auto?
Manual is the lesser costing option for a reason.
They don't do manuals in 3.0 engines either bmw Mercedes jaguar etc ....
Well, been driving a manual for 10 years, now I want an automatic gearbox, hopefully a s-tronic
Nah, this is a good compromise. Faster than a manual will ever be.
