This was an emotional video for me to watch, even moreso after watching you place the note in the box. My heart broke. My Katheryn died in my arms, just hours after she was born. As much as it hurts to see videos such as yours, it makes me feel great knowing that other father's have the same love for their daughter as I felt, even before I ever met her.

At least it was only almost. I watched it with my almost 3 year old girl next to me and dang near bawled like a baby.
I’m 3 years behind. But congratulations. A daughter is the greatest blessing a man can ever have in his life. My daughter changed my life the moment I heard her heart beat. The love I feel for her is beyond description, she is my princess and my life is for her and will be until the day I’m gone.
There’s no crying in woodworking videos! You aren’t supposed to tug on the heartstrings like that. Congratulations-daughters are wonderful blessings in our lives. Sons are great, too, but we tend to think of them as mini-me while a daughter is a glimpse at your wife as a child. Wish you guys the best...now I’ve got to go remove the sawdust that got in my eyes and made them water.

My son is 16.... cant bloody wait for him to get older and buy me a beer … its pay back time ! … best years are to come, when you can have a real conversation about politics, death and education etc … best ever, you see so much of yourself in them but an absolute individual too.

Mazal Tov!!! This video really choked me up... As a Father of twins (One boy and one girl) I can say it's a wonderful ride! I've unfortunately been deployed to Afghanistan since they were born, only getting to visit every 4 months or so, but every time I see them on Skype or in pictures I feel so proud, and when your daughter has her accomplishments so will you!

Congratulations. 20 years ago, starting the restoration of our old farm, wife(I mean 3 weeks after starting,) said she might be pregnant(me at the time, 46, and never wanting children, to be able to be the "artist," free, etc.) Those years FLEW by(you'll see.) We had no running water(meaning no indoor plumbing, hardly any electricity;) my father-in-law called me every French Name you could think of. Our son grew up being literlly parked near where ever we were working,....now he's in med school. Yes, what an experience, and easily the best thing I ever 'helped' make...cheers...rr Normandy, Fra

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you, and grateful that you shared this video. I am a fellow woodworker, and I'm trying to start a family of my own. I'm a Wounded Warrior. I broke my back while in the Air Force, and since then, starting a family has come dangerously close to becoming an unobtainable goal. My wood work, my craft, has become my rehabilitation and my therapy. It mends my soul! It also is great exercise for my body and hands, and especially my brain. First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You've made an indescribably beautiful family heirloom for Layla. I only wish I had a woodshop at the time my children were born, but alas, the Navy had other plans for me, both times. But... no regrets. Once again, I am overjoyed for you and your wife and look forward to seeing the 'real reveal' once Layla arrives.
