- Made a couple of keepsake boxes, all with mitered joinery and reinforced with keys on the corners.
Over time I've kept and saved various pieces of weird woods, with knots, burls to use them eventually for lids, and also some interesting veneers, bird's eye maple, grey stained oak that I glue them on plywood to make the lids.
Some boxes are for sale on my store here www.adrianpreda.com/shop

Every time I watch this video I pick up another useful tip... My woodworking skills have increased exponentially since I subscribes to your channel. I took one of my boxes inspired by this video to an interview at Glasgow Clyde College for their string instrument making course... Been offered a place... Thanks Adrian I owe you.
Thanks! I'm very happy for you to hear that!
I've never considered tapering the sides of a box like that - very cool!
So aesthetically pleasing - not just your work, but also the video production. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback!
Beautiful boxes with a touch of class with the wood shavings in each box
I like this video. Slow, simple and to the point. I think it is a great instructional video as is.
I love the video style - great music and visual storytelling without words and distraction. And beautiful work!
I've been re-watching all your old videos waiting for a new one and it's my lucky day.
Thank you! :)
Those are some beautiful looking boxes. Your workmanship is top notch.
This is such quality work! I am blown away!
Bravo, sir!
That is so cool. A lot of patients goes into making these. The craftsmanship is very impressive.
So elegant, simple and beautiful!
That perfect pairing of the music and router whine from 5:12 is truly satisfying. It’s like that sound was made for the music.
Beautiful video and craftsmanship, Adrian!
Thanks! Usually the best music/action matches are not intended, they just happen when I put them toghter😀 this scene was one
I love making boxes, and yours are really beautiful. Thanks for some great ideas!

So many genius techniques in this video I had to watch it again before the Christmas crunch.
Great work as usual I really enjoy the hand tool segments.

Thanks Adrian this is an excellent video ...really like the way you cut the box / lid joint. I don't know how many boxes I've destroyed trying to cut all the way through on a table saw with wedges to support the last cut. Can't wait to try out your method...Thanks
Excellent video and process and thanks for sharing

Beautiful work- I could watch you creating your art anytime! That weird shaped saw is something I've never seen before, and the way you hand tool each box is inspiring. Thank you for sharing this process with us!
Instant subscriber & bell tapper!
Thanks! That s a japanesw saw called azebiki, intended for cutting grooves, long slots etc, you can start the cut from the middle of the board, maybe is somehow similar to the western veneer saw
Glad to see you’re back. I’ve been waiting for so long a new video! Great work!
Thanks! Sorry for the waiting🙂
This is just next level.

I have pieces cut for about 200 boxes. I need to build a 45 degree shooting board to finish them. These are spectacular!
Exceptional! I wonder what in the world is thinking somebody who dislikes such work.
This is proper woodwork
Beautiful boxes, use as many N’s in Walnut as you like when they come out that nice 👍🏻
:)) Thank you!

Extremely elegant work:)

Wow Adrian!!

LONG TIME NO SEE! Missed seeing your work.
That's the safest looking spline jig I've seen.
Thanks Melinda!
Yes, I had that blade for 3 years maybe, and just now decided to make a quick jig to make those splines
@@AdrianPreda Can you tell me what blade that is ? Thanks
Great job!
Thank you!

Beautiful, beautiful work. I'm fairly new to woodworking and the video is so helpful. Can you share what router bit you used yo cut off the lid? Thank you!
Awesome.....
Great work on the boxes and on the filming and editing, new subscriber.
Thank you very much!
Really enjoying your videos. I looked for the mini circular saw router bit (used to start the cut of the box lids) in your tools list, but couldn’t find it. Can you please share the brand?
As always you never disappoint.
Thank you!
I have an irrational love for the lil triangular mouse finish sanders... Thank you for a beautiful video and projects :)
Yes, is a very versatile sander for little projects.
Thank you!
impresionante. saludos desde Uruguay
Gracias Pablo!
Magnifique !
Thanks Luc!
Love the video. Is that spline jig just 2x4s sandwiched and 45d at the end?
I like the idea using the router and a slot cutter to open the box and do the splines.
Tolle arbeit
und super Boxen
Danke!
Unas cajas divinas de la muerte,la madera es muy agradecida, esas preciosas vetas,un saludo y por supuesto un gran like desde Narón Galicia ( España)
Gracias!
Well done.... very neat.... 👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Nice projects, on the lid with the four little corner blocks how do you get them in the correct location?
Bravo...uitandu-ma la tine, e ca si cum as asculta o muzica buna.
It turned out very cool! I also do woodwork.
Beautiful boxes and technique. I really like how you do the splines with the slot cutter but it’s too bad it’s limited by box height
Thanks! Yeap, something like 3cm height will allow, so box height double of that
Please, what is the router bit you use to open the box? Nice work. 👍
What size a lot bit are you using? Do you have a set or generally like one size for cutting lids?
