  • This video details how to make a simple wooden box and is perfect for one of your first time woodworking projects. These little projects are great for learning how to make a jewelry box or a simple keepsake box. Sometimes you just need a simple walnut box or a maple box for a place to dump your pockets at the end of the day.

Pretty Little Boxes are harder than they look", because of first timer forgetting a couple things, but also having to interpret some of the details from other instructions. Most people don’t know the difference between a hand cut dovetail and a box joint in 1/2” stock and they certainly are not willing to pay for the difference in workmanship. Mitered sides with a fake dovetail key is the way to go.

nice box and all, but not to be rude... first woodworking project? If you're going to make a "first woodworking project" video, why make one that includes thousands of dollars of power tools? Lol. Most people looking for their first woodworking project are not looking for one that includes the use of expensive saws etc. That makes the whole thing seem wayyy more daunting. If you want to make an actual "first woodworking project" video, maybe consider these things. I looked this up bc i wanted to build a small, simple box with minimal tools, you know, as a beginner. But in the video all i see are expensive table saws etc...that definitely aren't needed, but it'd be nice to have a video for people like me. Cheers
