Worst era of Raw for you guys? The Divas Division was weak despite some names, midcard was just there and the main event scene was stacked. If it wasn't for a forgotten Divas Division, Guest Host thing. Maybe it would be remembered fondly. What did you think of 09-10 Raw?
I didn't care all that much about WWE back in 2009. I only remember the storyline where Matt Hardy turned heel on Jeff Hardy and well, nothing else. So, that's about it.
Batista's heel run during this time was one of the best things in a long time. Everything, the spotlight, the seats = dollar signs, telling John to keep talking tough.

I was a kid and grew up with the 2002-2007 eras. Raw, to me, was always the more brutal, adult, and hard-hitting brand and Smackdown was more high-flying action, teen-friendly, and technical wrestling. Seeing Raw basically turn into a red-colored version of Smackdown is what turned me off from it. That’s just my opinion

idc what anyone says i loved this era because it gives me so much nostalgia since this was when me and my brother first found wwe i remember we were just going through the channels one day when we stumbled upon it i remember it was the matt and jeff hardy feud that was on when we very first started watching and that's what got us both hooked on wrestling early 2009 the royal rumble had just happened and they were showing how matt turned on jeff when he was fighting edge so all that happend from 2009 through 2010 i enjoyed so much because wwe was new to me so when i look back at those times i feel like a 10 year old kid again having fun watching wwe and it wasnt until around late 2013 that i stopped watching wwe although i did watch wrestlemania 30 in 2014 but that was the first time i had watched wwe in months and now it wasn't until around mid 2019 that i started some what getting back into wwe although i don't watch the shows still i at least try to keep up with what's going on

It was bad, there’s a reason why 2009 is considered by many to be the worst year in Raw’s history (with 2003 as #2, as that year was the Triple H World Domination Tour ft. The World Hunterweight Champion...TRIPLE H). The show was a bad imitation of the worst seasons of SNL, with a stagnant main event scene, guest hosts that literally didn’t care for wrestling (the only ones that were any good were Bob Barker and Jesse Ventura), terrible “comedy” segments (Little People’s Court and Chavo vs Hornswoggle come to mind) among other things. Raw was just mind numbing and insulting in 2009
I would absolutely love a series of just guest host! I personally loved the mix of wrestling and pop culture and I love the cringe moments. I'd do it, starting with the episode announcing donald Trump the week prior. The first few raws with Trump would be 1 video. But then every monday have the next host up and rate them week to week. It'd be a great nostalgia trip. Something I'd look forward to every Monday. Love ya man.
2009 Raw was the last great year of the pg era until about 2013 because the next year Jeff leaving the summer of 09, Shawn Michaels retired, Batista left, Undertaker and Triple h would soon become part time...The ending of 2009 had so many cool cross-brand matches and MSG from the end of the year and the supremely underrated tag team(DX, Jeri-Show, The Colons, Legacy...Truly was the last GREAT year of RAW IMO
2009 (for RAW) is *NOT* the last great year for the WWE and the PG era. You just had to jinx it considering that there is no such thing as "the last great year" especially this "last good" or "last great" nonsense. The end of the time 2009 was boring too. Remember Steve Austin called Lance Storm "boring"? RAW in 2009 stays unwatchable. Nobody would've clicked on any of those episodes and watch it because it's a waste of time and it's not entertaining.
Smackdown was killing Raw back in 09, they were main eventing most of the PPVs at that time. 2010 was just a weak year overall, just a few things that were good but it was a massive downgrade from previous years.
I'd argue that 2009 was pretty damn good if you're not over-analyzing it, despite the guest host bs, as far as matches we had plenty of bangers in '09. 2010 on the other hand was straight trash.

@@karnasinghjawanda9596 I think 2011 was worst, it was a large change for the roster. Most of the Attitude and Ruthless talents left by then and had nothing but jobbers and mid-carders. HBK, Batista, Edge etc. was no longer there and Triple H and Undertaker were part-timers
2009-2010, aside from HBK vs Undertaker, is regarded as one of the worst because WWE really stagnated. They were recycling the same rivalries and nobody was getting over, particularly on Raw. 2009 Smackdown was great though. Rey Mysterio vs Chris Jericho was underrated, Jeff Hardy had FINALLY captured the WWE Championship just before the start of the year, and Undertaker was still wrestling full time. ECW was solid with Christian returning, the only problem simply being the name of the show.
During this time when they started the Raw guest hosts, it was also around the same time Jeff Hardy left WWE, and that's when WWE stopped being cool with my friends in school. I associate this era of Raw with my first down-period as a wrestling fan. I was still very much into the SvR games and by default still watched the product but I wasn't intrigued by the storylines or anything.
I have some fond memories of RAW from 2009-2010, yeah, let's not have guest hosts back, and the Divas division wasn't strong at the time either. I remember fondly some of feuds.
The PG era in general gives me Vietnam flashbacks of when my hatred for WWE began after 6 years of pure enjoyment. I felt so bad for the divas as it was so obvious they were bathroom break segments, most future stars were buried by either Orton or Cena, Smackdown quickly became a joke hopping from channel to channel trying to stay relevant, Raw was boring and cringe every episode...UGH! Personally I believe the Kayfabe world of WWE ended after the Ruthless Aggression era ended after Summerslam 2008.
'09 -'10 WWE & TNA for that matter was so bad it made me quit watching wrestling for years until the independent scene brought me back in just recently

This era still had some good talent (and moments), which is probably why I kept watching. You can tell things were changing though. If you grew up watching the Ruthless aggression era, you probably hated this era, but stayed a loyal viewer because of the potential. Again, the talent was THERE.

Guest host were bad, but midget jokes, 20 secs divas matches, and peak supercena... If you thought this was good, it has to be the nostalgia really and that's understandable. But overall, today's product is more bearable than 2009-2010 RAW, which doesn't say much because it was BAD, 2018 post Mania BAD like Premier was saying.

RAW 09-10 is when i first started watching wrestling lol i was about 9 or 10 and to me at the time it was the goat era 😂 but looking back it was pretty bland not too bad as it is now but also not that good as well
Honestly, I feel like 09-10 was the last time we had a full stacked roster, Triple H, Cena, Taker and Shawn were all still there, last time most of them besides Cena worked full time

Orton's heel run and his rivalry vs. the McMahon's and Taker vs. HBK were the main pro's. Also, Sheamus, during his first year in WWE, DX return, Batista heel run and the summer of Nexus. Let's not forget about Miz WWE title run was quite good. I just remembered about HBK being JBL employee was short, but interesting. Kozlov push was also interesting, while it lasted.
2009-2010 were hard days for me and I stopped watching the WWE in 2007. & yeah, RAW from the 2009-2010 period had good stuff from the likes of Randy Orton being a menace, The Miz' 2009-2010 mid-card push, the summer of The Nexus, Batista's heel run, if you actually liked Monday Night RAW in 2009-10, I know exactly what i think about RAW in 2009-2010.

For me at least that's a bit of a stretch cause we do have The New Generation era and the Reality Era but this period was definitely special in terms of how bad it is because it's pretty much a struggling time for the brand creatively: John Cena & Randy Orton were still dominating Raw's main event ranks, it had too many poor attempts at comedy, the diva roster was rather weak and was given 3% of each show, the guest-hosts definitely didn't do the brand any favors and the undercard was a complete ghost-town especially for the lower-card ranks.
Please go through every single guest host. I’ve been waiting forever for someone to cover how awful that era was. It’d be awesome if you put them in tiers as far as great, good, passable, and awful
09 Smackdown was more watchable than Raw because Raw had to rely on celebrity guest hosts while Smackdown had Edge, the Hardys, Punk, Mysterio, Morrison, Jericho, Taker, etc. Also Raw only had Cena, Triple H, and Orton 😂

Personally, I respectfully disagree with you. This Indy era is horrible and there's no star power. But I do agree with you on the huge Cena push. He became stale in 2010. The only reasons I watched the WWE during the pg ERA from 2011-2013 were Cm Punk, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Undertaker, Triple H, Randy Orton, Christian, Mark Henry's (Hall of Pain) and Cena.

While I think 09/10 wasnt as good as the years before it, WWE didn't really truly suck until the start of the 2010's. It was basically 09/10 with WAY less star power (people like Shawn Michaels/Edge retiring in this window) and we had some of the worst commentary ever, including heel Michael Cole. The product was zombifying. Also all the problems from before like the womens division sucking never got any better anyways

Before I even watch the vid I’m just gonna say as a 22 year old 2009-2010 I was like 11-12 years old I loved those years. In retrospect I thought it was just missing something like energy some weeks the shows felt flat at times. The women’s matches were mediocre at best more often than not. I loved the main event scene on both Raw and Smackdown. Those years definitely weren’t better than Raw in years past. However I thought it was still good. Hell they were great compared to Raw in 2013 to present where you’ll get a good show here and there
I’m 22 as well and I was hooked but at the same time I knew it was missing some Adult oriented content cuz at the time I watched Attitude Era clips on CZcams like “damn I didn’t know WWE used to cuss” or “Damn I didn’t know Chris Jericho, Christian and JBL had hair” 😂 even then I was on a nostalgia trip picking the good old days over the then present (even if I wasn’t born during those good old days). But looking back today 2009-2010 was the last period that WWE had real star power. Wrestle mania 26 capped it off then it got lame until Punk cut that promo. I stayed a full time fan til about 2016 when I graduated high school ironically. Now I just watch old shit on CZcams and keep up with today’s WWE through wrestling news

The show was a bad imitation of the worst seasons of SNL, with a stagnant main event scene, guest hosts that literally didn’t care for wrestling (the only ones that were any good were Bob Barker and Jesse Ventura), terrible “comedy” segments (Little People’s Court and Chavo vs Hornswoggle come to mind) among other things. Raw was just mind numbing and insulting in 2009

I would absolutely love a series of just guest host! I personally loved the mix of wrestling and pop culture and I love the cringe moments. I'd do it, starting with the episode announcing donald Trump the week prior. The first few raws with Trump would be 1 video. But then every monday have the next host up and rate them week to week. It'd be a great nostalgia trip. Something I'd look forward to every Monday. Love ya man.
2009 Raw was the last great year of the pg era until about 2013 because the next year Jeff leaving the summer of 09, Shawn Michaels retired, Batista left, Undertaker and Triple h would soon become part time...The ending of 2009 had so many cool cross-brand matches and MSG from the end of the year and the supremely underrated tag team(DX, Jeri-Show, The Colons, Legacy...Truly was the last GREAT year of RAW IMO

2009 (for RAW) is *NOT* the last great year for the WWE and the PG era. You just had to jinx it considering that there is no such thing as "the last great year" especially this "last good" or "last great" nonsense. The end of the time 2009 was boring too. Remember Steve Austin called Lance Storm "boring"? RAW in 2009 stays unwatchable. Nobody would've clicked on any of those episodes and watch it because it's a waste of time and it's not entertaining.
Smackdown was killing Raw back in 09, they were main eventing most of the PPVs at that time. 2010 was just a weak year overall, just a few things that were good but it was a massive downgrade from previous years.
I'd argue that 2009 was pretty damn good if you're not over-analyzing it, despite the guest host bs, as far as matches we had plenty of bangers in '09. 2010 on the other hand was straight trash.
Yeah 09 had it's moments. 10-11 though. Oh man.

@@karnasinghjawanda9596 I think 2011 was worst, it was a large change for the roster. Most of the Attitude and Ruthless talents left by then and had nothing but jobbers and mid-carders. HBK, Batista, Edge etc. was no longer there and Triple H and Undertaker were part-timers
2009 and 2010 for Raw were only somewhat good from the Royal Rumble to Wrestlemania then after that it went way down hill.

2009-2010, aside from HBK vs Undertaker, is regarded as one of the worst because WWE really stagnated. They were recycling the same rivalries and nobody was getting over, particularly on Raw. 2009 Smackdown was great though. Rey Mysterio vs Chris Jericho was underrated, Jeff Hardy had FINALLY captured the WWE Championship just before the start of the year, and Undertaker was still wrestling full time. ECW was solid with Christian returning, the only problem simply being the name of the show.

During this time when they started the Raw guest hosts, it was also around the same time Jeff Hardy left WWE, and that's when WWE stopped being cool with my friends in school. I associate this era of Raw with my first down-period as a wrestling fan. I was still very much into the SvR games and by default still watched the product but I wasn't intrigued by the storylines or anything.
They had to turn orton face Cos he was getting baby face reactions from the crowd despite playing a monster heel.
I have some fond memories of RAW from 2009-2010, yeah, let's not have guest hosts back, and the Divas division wasn't strong at the time either. I remember fondly some of feuds.
The PG era in general gives me Vietnam flashbacks of when my hatred for WWE began after 6 years of pure enjoyment. I felt so bad for the divas as it was so obvious they were bathroom break segments, most future stars were buried by either Orton or Cena, Smackdown quickly became a joke hopping from channel to channel trying to stay relevant, Raw was boring and cringe every episode...UGH! Personally I believe the Kayfabe world of WWE ended after the Ruthless Aggression era ended after Summerslam 2008.

As a kid after Jeff Hardy left I stopped watching WWE until 2011 because of CM Punk
This era still had some good talent (and moments), which is probably why I kept watching. You can tell things were changing though. If you grew up watching the Ruthless aggression era, you probably hated this era, but stayed a loyal viewer because of the potential. Again, the talent was THERE.
That time is when I started watching wrestling since 2008 so I actually like it yet I remember only the upper cart and main eventers and air born was amaaaazing
If 2009 - 2010 WWE was good, then 2020 WWE is excellent. Don't get me wrong, 2009 n 2010 RAW sure had its good things, but so does today's RAW. People can't stand today's RAW crap, just like Back then ppl from your current age could not watch that garbo with more kids jokes than current WWE. Guest host were bad, but midget jokes, 20 secs divas matches, and peak supercena... If you thought this was good, it has to be the nostalgia really and that's understandable. But overall, today's product is more bearable than 2009-2010 RAW, which doesn't say much because it was BAD, 2018 post Mania BAD like Premier was saying.

RAW 09-10 is when i first started watching wrestling lol i was about 9 or 10 and to me at the time it was the goat era 😂 but looking back it was pretty bland not too bad as it is now but also not that good as well

I just remembered about HBK being JBL employee was short, but interesting. Kozlov push was also interesting, while it lasted.
2009-2010 were hard days for me and I stopped watching the WWE in 2007. & yeah, RAW from the 2009-2010 period had good stuff from the likes of Randy Orton being a menace, The Miz' 2009-2010 mid-card push, the summer of The Nexus, Batista's heel run, if you actually liked Monday Night RAW in 2009-10, I know exactly what i think about RAW in 2009-2010.

For me at least that's a bit of a stretch cause we do have The New Generation era and the Reality Era but this period was definitely special in terms of how bad it is because it's pretty much a struggling time for the brand creatively: John Cena & Randy Orton were still dominating Raw's main event ranks, it had too many poor attempts at comedy, the diva roster was rather weak and was given 3% of each show, the guest-hosts definitely didn't do the brand any favors and the undercard was a complete ghost-town especially for the lower-card ranks.
Please go through every single guest host. I’ve been waiting forever for someone to cover how awful that era was. It’d be awesome if you put them in tiers as far as great, good, passable, and awful

09 Smackdown was more watchable than Raw because Raw had to rely on celebrity guest hosts while Smackdown had Edge, the Hardys, Punk, Mysterio, Morrison, Jericho, Taker, etc. Also Raw only had Cena, Triple H, and Orton 😂

Personally, I respectfully disagree with you. This Indy era is horrible and there's no star power. But I do agree with you on the huge Cena push. He became stale in 2010. The only reasons I watched the WWE during the pg ERA from 2011-2013 were Cm Punk, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Undertaker, Triple H, Randy Orton, Christian, Mark Henry's (Hall of Pain) and Cena.

While I think 09/10 wasnt as good as the years before it, WWE didn't really truly suck until the start of the 2010's. It was basically 09/10 with WAY less star power (people like Shawn Michaels/Edge retiring in this window) and we had some of the worst commentary ever, including heel Michael Cole. The product was zombifying. Also all the problems from before like the womens division sucking never got any better anyways

The downer to a lot of Jillian’s material on the Network, a lot of it is edited out since she’s singing popular songs. The night she wins the title, dirty jump cut when she’s about to sing a Lady Gaga song.
I can defend 2018 to an extent. SmackDown! from the summer to Mania 35 was actually better than what Raw was offering.

Before I even watch the vid I’m just gonna say as a 22 year old 2009-2010 I was like 11-12 years old I loved those years. In retrospect I thought it was just missing something like energy some weeks the shows felt flat at times. The women’s matches were mediocre at best more often than not. I loved the main event scene on both Raw and Smackdown. Those years definitely weren’t better than Raw in years past. However I thought it was still good. Hell they were great compared to Raw in 2013 to present where you’ll get a good show here and there
I’m 22 as well and I was hooked but at the same time I knew it was missing some Adult oriented content cuz at the time I watched Attitude Era clips on CZcams like “damn I didn’t know WWE used to cuss” or “Damn I didn’t know Chris Jericho, Christian and JBL had hair” 😂 even then I was on a nostalgia trip picking the good old days over the then present (even if I wasn’t born during those good old days). But looking back today 2009-2010 was the last period that WWE had real star power. Wrestle mania 26 capped it off then it got lame until Punk cut that promo. I stayed a full time fan til about 2016 when I graduated high school ironically. Now I just watch old shit on CZcams and keep up with today’s WWE through wrestling news

I’ll watch a PPV here and there depending on the storylines going into the show though. Like Edge and Orton was a must see match especially at backlash
