I listened to some deathcore when I was first getting into death metal but dropped it really quickly they definatly where a small gateway in but even when I was listening to it I liked bands like death cannibal morbid deicide or cattle decap much more
Some people were telling I should like the first Suicide Silence because it was “just brutal death Metal” What I heard was a bunch of leftover Suffocation/Deeds of Flesh riffing watered down with the worst elements of metalcore. It all blended together too. Couldn’t hum the tunes if you put a gun to my head.
It's an insecurity on their part. They know deep down that bands like Crucifier, Imprecation, Immolation, Archgoat, and Blasphemy easily send that deathcore poser shit to the morgue. Which is why they feel the need to shove their shitty music taste down other people's throats so they can go to bed at night thinking Deathcore is the greatest thing since sliced bread when it's not.
Some ambient Synthesizer sections also show up occasionally in the intros as well Brah Brah. Mortician, Disgorge California, Immolation, Acheron ,Deeds of Flesh, and Incantation are my favorite Death Metal bands. I would like to see more love for Acheron on this channel, but I am glad that Mortician, Sadistic Intent, and Incantation get the respect that they deserve on this channel

Whitechapel is the band that is “heavy over substance” all of their songs are heavy but doesn’t hold a candle to bands like Suffocation, Immolation or Cannibal Corpse, bands that have actual musicians and know what the fuck technicality and flourish is. Compare Pierced from Within or Hallucinations to any deathcore, you’ll hear the difference.

I’ve seen whitechapel live before, they were on a festival bill I was at, and your description is spot on. Tho it didn’t repel my ears quite like a lot of the other bands on the bill. They’re one of maybe 3 deathcore bands I think are tolerable
Never was quite able to put my finger on it, but there is something about the deathcore sound that just doesn't sit well with me. Not sure if it's one aspect or the package as a whole. As a result I've never been able to enjoy that style of music.
I don't think I heard the same Goatmoon you heard. What I heard sounded raw and sloppy with bad vocals unless I heard a joke recording that was labeled as Goatmoon. I'd rather listen to early Cradle or Dimmu personally.
Goatmoon' first two albums a bit sloppy, but they got great riffs throughout and wild attitude. Varjot great as well. Horna style riffs in song Echoes of Eternity.

There's some good stuff, but then this Tool sounding singing part came up. That part wasn't good. Not sure what I was shown but I don't remember the singing parts and an overabundance of chug.

If whitechapel is heavy or metal, that must make shit like Goatvomit and Nunslaughter harsh noise wall, and this is coming from an almost 16 year old, canoes from my school talk about lorna shore (borena shore as I call them) like they’re the heaviest in the world, I listened to it and it’s the most boring shit I’ve ever heard, literally just constantly hitting the breakdown button.
Nunslaughter has something the Lorna shores don’t. That’s riffs. You have a good outlook young devil

Deathcore is even gayer than a heavier version of Coal Chamber and Slipknot. At least those shitty bands I can get a laugh from, deathcore shit makes me genuinely enraged, knowing so many people actually think that, that is what "brutal" is. It makes me reluctant to even mention metal to people I meet

?????QUESTION: Does the Dawg have a favorite DARK ANGEL album? I current own Darkness Descends, Leave Scars and Time Does Not heal. Hard for me to pick a favorite. They're all bangers to me. Dark Angel is classic thrash that doesn't disappoint.
That is my top 3 favorite thrash bands stuff like Darkness Descends send most of the german thrash on a stretcher.

Old Man's Child is an Nordic pagan reference. during the 90's-00's the suffix with 'core' indicates the music to among the many sub genre's of hardcore. for example: grind-core, thrash-core, fast-core, math-core, vegan-core, metal-core....yet death-core seems to devoid of common troupes in defining its sound. nu-metal was the foundation of the grenre why is it not called nu-death? instead of deathcore? that claim is highly is unlikely after going though Hegelian dialectical logic.

Deathcore was always fail... and it's a dying sub genre, no matter what some burnout posers headed towards middle age meltdowns have to say about their "scene"... there's far more palpable hype and furvor around people spitting out stuff in the old school dm style or classically veined black metal than there is any love for deathcore dad's and weak breakdowns. Anyone saying deathcore is the future is either trolling or likely mentally handicapped.

Do you know what that sound is on chainsaw dismemberment. I feel like it’s a crazy 8-bit-bitcrusher effect on the bass but it does so much for the album I really love it.

I’ve seen whitechapel live before, they were on a festival bill I was at, and your description is spot on. Tho it didn’t repel my ears quite like a lot of the other bands on the bill. They’re one of maybe 3 deathcore bands I think are tolerable

Never was quite able to put my finger on it, but there is something about the deathcore sound that just doesn't sit well with me. Not sure if it's one aspect or the package as a whole. As a result I've never been able to enjoy that style of music.

I don't think I heard the same Goatmoon you heard. What I heard sounded raw and sloppy with bad vocals unless I heard a joke recording that was labeled as Goatmoon. I'd rather listen to early Cradle or Dimmu personally.

You probably heard early Goatmoon. The later stuff is much different.
Goatmoon' first two albums a bit sloppy, but they got great riffs throughout and wild attitude. Varjot great as well. Horna style riffs in song Echoes of Eternity.

A friend showed me White Chapel years ago, and what I heard sounded good. I checked them out again today because of the title of this video. There's some good stuff, but then this Tool sounding singing part came up. That part wasn't good. Not sure what I was shown but I don't remember the singing parts and an overabundance of chug.
