- Splatoon 3 closely follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, but its raucous, vibrant matches still excel in variety, style, and fantastic design.

“Moisten your tentacles” is the best thing Easy Allies has ever written.
Seriously hahah loved it
According to Jones, that was the line that got to him...
Love to Bloodworth & the vivid wild time that Splatoon 3 is. Looking forward to experiencing that story mode.
I bought Splatoon 2 day 1 but I’ve been behind on games despite wanting to try Splatoon 3. Great review.
Same
9:41 "Squiddy vocals"
YESSSSS
3:17 I see you Blood, cheating that maze...
Overall, I respect the score, I love the review, and I appreciate it.
How do people in the plaza draw so good?
You can use a program or capacitive styluses to dot it all out one by one
I hadn’t heard much of the soundtrack, Nintendo’s composers really went nuts on this one
I’ve been waiting for this review since the game launched! Finally!
Nice review. The disconnections are still an occasional issue but it's way better than at launch. Was shocked there was no mention of the smallfry/little buddy companion.
Oh, right on time!
Jk, love ya allies
I do think it's nuts that they released it THIS late. I understand that timely reviews aren't always possible or best but pushing six weeks after release is wild. By now I've heard all the opinions I need to decide whether I want to play this game and even the most beautifully written review from EZA isn't that useful to me
@@godribbon Well, that's you. I normally only play console games when they get a definitive versions or whatever. And I only do that after reading or watching well written reviews, being the first out the gate is probably not the way to critique a game fairly either. But since YOU already know all you need, I guess CZcams channels should abandon the catalog style of getting passive views.
Love that after learning about the out of bounds jukebox under the plaza Blood mentioned it! Give it to us!!
Also I feel like it's definitely time to expand the Splatoon series, rather than iterating constantly on this formula I think the best option would be to alternate between spin-offs that tap into other genres and the more traditional multiplayer games with a small campaign. A Splatoon RPG is long overdue and could give us the Deep Dive (I'm sorry) in the Splatoon world that we're fasting for.
There's actually a jukebox?
@@heyjakeay yes, somebody posted on Twitter that it's under the pavement, of course being out of bounds it's not accessible for the time being.
Great review blood!
Small Fry is character of the year
Yo what, Jones edited this? I know he has done it before, but I didn't expect it after he left. That's really cool!
Great review in general.
Left? I thought he was the entire channel.
superb editing
I thought Brandon Jones retired?
He did. I asked him to cut this for me, though since Don was swamped and Isla's out of town. -Bloodworth
One thing that irks me about Splatoon 3 and other games, is that they spike the difficulty right at the end to make sure the finale explodes in an ink-slathered crescendo. Games of this ilk usually strip you of powers and/or weapons before the end and increases the difficulty needlessly. This is especially stinging in Splatoon 3 because it's mostly a challenging but easy-going game, so the final boss being a huge pain goes against the rest of the campaign and the game's sense of casual splatting.
The game even has really good net code as well. I haven't played it yet but splatoon 2 had great online and should be no different
I want a splatoon turn based rpg
Wow Blood great review you do an amazing Job thx Love and respect ❤️😊
More of the same is hardly a bad thing
I knew would use Salmon run as a marketing tool to get 3 which I don't like but anytime Salmon Run is good
GOTY
Fun Fact: This is Nintendo's version of Call Of Duty...and they nailed it. 👌🏽
are you guys going to review Persona 5 Royal, i'm playing it again on PS5 and loving it all over again (there was never a review for Royal from my favourite reviewer before L&R)
I don't think it will get a full review, but Brad is taking a look at the PS5 version for Frame Trap. -Bloodworth
@@EasyAllies ah cheers, i'll keep a look out for that
Good review, you guys still do it better than nearly everyone else
This is my own personal experience, but I had too many connection issues and it ruined Splatoon 3 for me. :( I've ended up dropping the game because it's just too frustrating to play. Was really excited for this game, like, it was one of my most anticipated and hyped games of 2022, and I ended up feeling really let down by how bad the server stability is. I know Nintendo in general still has a long ways to go in this area, but i've never had these sort of problems before in one of their online games. :/
@Jeff Logan you are correct! ive been playing this series since the first game. It feels so good to play as long as matches go smoothly on the connection side.
@@omgitsbees I played splatoon 1 and 2 and yet to by 3 and it has one of the best connections out of any 1st party Nintendo game not perfect but good. Their is a person in the comment section who's boycotting it but Nintendo is hit or miss with online net code.
I'm glad it's getting great reviews and is selling well and not getting review bombed
@@maplemiles3381 Yeah! I would rather the game still do great cause its one of my favorite Nintendo franchises and the same team also makes Animal Crossing.
@@omgitsbees I find the user score on metacritic with zero with net code only very silly but that is a person head scratcher opinion.
One thing that drivers me crazy is when people call splatoon a niche series
@@maplemiles3381 I thought it was a niche series but I am unsure about sales. With three games now though it is probably not niche.
Splatoon 3 is the definition of "8.5"
This is my first time playing the series, so I can’t knock it for being similar to its predecessors.
I’ve been having a blast. 9 for me.
@@BriskWalkZombie yeah tbh never played em until now and the thing I’ve been hearing from people who have is “yuuuup. It’s just more Splatoon.” Like they still say it’s pretty good but apparently not too out there on the changes? Ah well enjoying it nonetheless.
This is embarrassing. So late.
No mention of the seasonal pass in the catalog, lack of weapon loadout diversity, server problems, awful lag in the training room, or rampant hackers that have plagued all the Splatoon games. They also removed most visual effects from stuff like ink that was in 2 making 3 look so much duller. I like 3, but it feels like it exchanged actual quality for pure scale. Even going back to 2 it feels so much more polished.
Quote ""With Single Player, Multiplayer, Coop and more" ... hummm what is "more"? either you play solo or with people? hehe... just thought that sentence was kind of funny :)
What I meant wasn't necessarily the general concept of single player and multiplayer, but each of those distinct modes. "More" would include the tabletop game, the various shops, locker room, local wireless lobby in a separate building, amiibo station, recon, etc. -Bloodworth
most of the time with the game is u getting kicked out of the game because it needs a update to fix it
I largely missed the first week or two, but I really haven't had a whole lot of issues with that. Switch's wireless isn't particularly great in general though, so I'd definitely recommend a wired connection. -Bloodworth
i Quit playing Splatoon 3 its broken they need to fix the game with a update it messing up way to much
